How to Save More Than One Mail Attachment At A Time

As an Outlook user, have you ever received a message that had multiple attachments? If so, you probably saved them one at a time, which works well enough. But if you receive a lot of messages with multiple attachments, or they’re rare, but when they come they contain a lot of attachments, I’m pleased to tell you that there is indeed a way to download and save multiple attachments at the same time. It’s actually easy to do, but the process varies a little bit depending on whether you are using Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007. What follows are the steps for each version of Outlook. To minimize the chance for confusion, there are separate instruction sets for each Outlook version.

How to Save Multiple Mail Attachments at a Time in Outlook 2003

Follow these steps to save multiple mail attachment files at a time when you’re using Outlook 2003.

  1. Select and open the message that contains the attachments.
  2. Click File, then Save Attachments.
  3. The Save All Attachments dialog box appears. In the Attachments list, one or more attachments that you want to save, then click OK.
  4. In the Save File dialog box that appears, navigate to the folder where you want to save the attachments. Click click OK to save them.

Saving More than One Mail Attachment at a Time in Outlook 2007

Follow this procedure to save multiple mail attachment files at a time when working with Outlook 2007.

  1. Open the message containing the attachments you want to save.
  2. Click Other Actions, then Save Attachments in the Actions panel of the Ribbon.
  3. When the Save All Attachments dialog box appears, find the Attachments list, select the attachments you want to save, then click OK.
  4. A standard file save dialog box appears. Navigate to the folder that you want to save the attachments in. Click click OK to save them.

That’s all there is to it. The attachments are now saved in the folder you chose. I hope that you will find these procedures to be useful in your daily interactions with Outlook. And just so you know, there are many more cool and useful tips where these came from.

The Living With Outlook website includes an illustrated version of these multiple mail attachment instructions, along with literally hundreds more tips and tricks for making dealing with Outlook faster, easier, and more fun.
