BlackBerry Curve 9360 review

Posted by on Thursday, 26 January, 2012

The BlackBerry Curve 8300 emerged as one of the best smartphone ideas of 2007. It pre-dated the first Android handset by a full year, and unlike the original iPhone, it was priced within reach of the average consumer. It introduced the masses to the possibilities of a connected and capable handset, and was the primary catalyst for the BlackBerry’s meteoric rise to household name. With each subsequent iteration, however, the Curve remained a handset geared toward first-time smartphone buyers, and that axiom feels particularly true today.

We’re now presented with the Curve 9360 (), a device that’s ostensibly hobbled in order to differentiate itself from RIM’s higher-end offerings, most notably the Torch 9810 (), Torch 9860 () and Bold 9900 (9). Specifically, we refer to its lack of a touchscreen. The omission will certainly be a deal-breaker for some, but whether it causes the market to reject it as a whole remains unknown. For our part, we’re most interested in the impact on the handset’s usability and its relevance in an increasingly competitive environment. In other words, has RIM included enough improvements to keep its Curve franchise afloat, or will this iteration sink like a stone? Join us after the break, as we delve into the Curve 9360 and explore these finer details.

Samsung ML 1500 Printer Cartridge – You Will Praise This Printing Machine

Posted by on Saturday, 2 January, 2010

The Samsung ML1500 laser printer was designed as a monochrome laser printer for the home office. This small laser printer, which weighs only 10 pounds, is one of the smallest laser printers available on the market today. Lack of size does have one drawback. The ML 1500 will only print at a 12 page per minute output. A 250 sheet paper tray for letter sized paper provides a plentiful supply of stock for printing.

Two connection ports are available on the ML1500. The parallel and USB ports permit a simple and easy connection to the computer. The owner of the ML1500 can not directly connect the ML1500 to a network, however through the utilization of a print server it could be connected in this manner. The setup software enables the owner to connect to both Windows and Linux OS. There is no driver available for Mac users. The setup software is simple and easy to use, allowing the printer to be connected to the computer in a minimum of time.

Many laser printers are utilized for large print jobs. The 250 sheet paper tray in the ML1500 will provide paper for even the largest jobs. Print resolution is 600 X 600 dpi and this resolution provides minimal jagged edges on even the largest font size. The ML1500 will provide adequate text resolution for any font size from 2 – 72.

Most laser printers are considered to be behemoths fit for the office and many are just that. The ML1500 however breaks that axiom and provides a laser printer that comes in both a small size and a low price tag. These attributes make the ML1500 attractive to the home office or college student when budgets are tight and laser print quality is desired. The small size and modest cost provides laser printing to the home office that rivals the big office machines.

Samsung has adopted a philosophy that one toner cartridge can work for several machines. With this in mind, the Samsung 1500 and 1700 laser printers all utilize the same toner cartridge. The printers are supplied with a 1000 sheet starter cartridge; however larger replacement cartridges are available. The multiple machine utilization of a single cartridge type provides the knowledge that a replacement cartridge always available.

The small size of the ML1500 means that it should be easy to operate. Samsung has accomplished this by making the printer controllable only from the computer through software. There are no buttons on the top or sides of the printer. This insures that the owner won’t have to stretch all the way across the office to set the printer for a specific job. All functions are merely a mouse click away.

The 600 X 600 dpi resolution of the printer provides a more than adequate resolution for almost all print jobs in the home office. While other laser printers offer more resolution, nearly all monochrome print jobs are done at the 600 X 600 dpi that the ML1500 provides. This adequate resolution when combined with a modest price makes the ML1500 ideal for the home office or college student.

Small size and low price both for the printer and the replacement cartridges provide an economical and reliable printer for the home office or small office that doesn’t need a networkable printer. The universality of the Samsung ML 1500 Toner insures that a replacement cartridge is always available from the local supplier. If a laser printer is what is desired for the home office or the college student that doesn’t have much room on the desk, then the Samsung ML1500 is the perfect Printer Toner Cartridge. Samsung Printer Cartridge is trusted everywhere.

Installing the Whitoken theme on your iPod Touch

Posted by on Saturday, 22 August, 2009

It seems like only yesterday that we were slobbering over the Whitoken theme for the iPod Touch. Well, today you can install this amazing theme with a little muss and fuss. The first step is to jailbreak your iPod with redsn0w and install Cydia, the app installer, and theme manager Winterboard. QuickPWN will take up the slack for you, showing you all the steps necessary to make your iPod look like the controller on the Axiom.

screenshot-page-0IThe biggest issue with this theme is that it requires quite a bit of set-up. Each app has to be stuck into a mini folder using a program called Categories and then creating a bunch of weird blank icons that do nothing but keep some icons away from others. However if you’ve got a few hours to kill this weekend – Hurricane Bill is hitting the East Coast so maybe you’ll have a nice day in – you can give it a try. Send us screenshots when you figure it out.

WALL-E Clean And Go M-O Deluxe Action Figure (Image courtesy Amazon)
By Andrew Liszewski

He may not be the poster bot for the film, but M-O, aka Micro Obliterator’s quiet antics in WALL-E made him instantly likable. And not only did he do a good job at keeping the Axiom clean, but even with just a set of glowing eyes he had loads more personality than the most advanced Roomba. So for that reason alone this M-O deluxe action figure would make a great addition to any desk. But what’s with the deluxe you might ask? Well it turns out M-O actually has a set of duel bristles on the front allowing him to sweep up any dust or crumbs you roll him over, which are collected in an easy to empty waste bin on his back. Let’s see an Eve figure do that! $21.99 from Amazon.
