Nokia N9 begins shipping at not inexpensive prices

Posted by on Tuesday, 27 September, 2011
After months of rumors and pre-orders, the Nokia N9 has finally begun shipping. Today, the Finnish manufacturer announced that its Meego-drenched handsets are now available for consumption, in both 16GB and 64GB variants. Of course, those of us in the US are out of luck, as are those in Germany and the UK (barring any back-door wizardry), but everyone else can grab a 16GB model for the not-so-small price of €480 (about 0), or the 64GB version for the similarly steep price of €560 (roughly 7). Pricing and availability, of course, will vary by region, but you can find more details in the full press release after the break, or at the source link, below.

Searching for the Right Skid Steer Backhoe

Posted by on Tuesday, 2 March, 2010

The skid steer backhoe might be on the wish list for a spread of firms across the world. Now, the slip steer backhoe wants to be transferred off of the wish list to being right out their back door. This is the one machine that any construction, landscaping, or close business should invest in. It may help to boost profits, expand the present business, plus help to make life a lot easier on the workers who would normally have to do what this machine is highly capable of doing.

From lifting heavy loads and placing them into the back of the dump van to digging trenches and more, the slide steer backhoe really has the flexibility that any business needs in order to make the work load less complicated for them to complete. If you want the services that this machine can add to your business, then definitely ensure that you take time out of your busy schedule to check these machines out.

This perfectly scaled down machine is superb for tiny jobs where maneuverability is the key. The light weight of the machine suggests that it won’t tear the ground up beneath. There are numerous benefits to owning and operating a skid steer backhoe, and below is a list of the benefits.

The skid steer backhoe lets you keep digging regardless of what the weather conditions are. It can be pouring down rain and extremely mudding, but this may not stand in the way of the skid steer backhoe. The arm is designed for full movement in tight spaces. There are a range of makers who make the backhoe attachment for your skid steer, and in most cases they’re straightforward to set up on the machine and they donot take long to get the skid steer backhoe absolutely operable.

In any case, purchasing the Skid Steer Backhoe attachment for your skid steer can be straightforward. Just ensure that you find one and purchase the one that is compatible with the make and model of the slide steer that you own. You don’t have to wreck your position by purchasing a new skid steer backhoe attachment. You can generally look for used versions of this attachment. In many cases, youcan find quality used attachments ; however , you must know what it is that you’re looking for and know what to search for in order to ensure that you donot purchase a worthless piece of equipment.

Check the hydraulics and the maneuverability. Look for rust and other hints of the chance the Skid Steer Backhoe attachment may not have been cared for properly. If you can purchase a new slip steer backhoe attachment you’ll be able to take advantage of the guaranty that usually includes it. So, in the end, the choice is totally up to you. However, definitely decide to take that skid steer backhoe attachment offof the wish list for this year and begin using it tomorrow.

Commodore 64 for the iPhone is back

Posted by on Friday, 13 November, 2009

As you’ll recall, the C64 emulator for the iPhone was shut down by the App store for being too awesome. Apple has approved the app but took off the BASIC support. Not great but not bad, either.

You can download the app here and this time there is no secret back door for enabling the BASIC emulator right in the app, which caused the emulator to run afoul of Apple’s draconian “no fun” policy.

Here is a cheerful Australian man running you through the app. It allows you to play classic games including that Kung Fu game that you remember but don’t quite know the name of but had a picture of the Sydney opera house in the background (it was called International Karate). It comes with eight games.

Allegedly: Apple tries to put gag order on man over exploded iPod touch

touch

Another day, another story that makes Apple look bad. Today’s is a charming tale in which Apple is alleged to have placed a gag order on a Liverpool man after his iPod touch exploded. The man complained to Apple, and Apple offered the man “compensation” in the form of so many pounds (the man merely asked for his £162 back), but only on the condition that he never tell anyone about said compensation.

It’s even worse than it sounds, since Apple apparently only offered a full refund if the man signed the gag order.

This is all goes back to when the man, a certain Ken Stanborough, a 47-year-old gentleman from Liverpool, bought an iPod touch for his daughter. He accidently dropped the iPod one day, then “it made a hissing noise.”

“I could feel it getting hotter in my hand, and I thought I could see vapour”. Mr Stanborough said he threw the device out of his back door, where “within 30 seconds there was a pop, a big puff of smoke and it went 10ft in the air.”

Nice. Can you imagine your gadgets collapsing into a poof of smoke every time you dropped it?

You should know that Stanborough didn’t sign Apple’s gag order, which means he’s out the £l62 he spent.

Oh, also: anyone else think that girl, Stanborough’s daughter, is wearing quite a bit of makeup for an 11-year-old?

Colonel Mustard, in the Apple Store, with the revolver (updated)

Posted by on Friday, 3 July, 2009

ph2009070301644A woman was shot today at an Arlington Apple Store, for no one knows what reason. She’s in serious but stable condition and the guy is at large. I’m surprised this hasn’t happened before: iPhones are expensive little buggers and jacking a pallet of them would be a real score.

It’s unclear what went down, exactly, and what if anything is missing. Apparently she was shot as soon as she opened the back door, which bespeaks a less-than-subtle perpetrator.

Maybe they’ll start making those glass storefronts bulletproof now?

Update: The surveillance video is propagating.
