How To Speak Effectively

Posted by on Tuesday, 29 June, 2010

To be an effective speaker, you need a lot of preparations not only on the speech you will deliver but as well as how you dress up. It requires mental and emotional preparation. There are a lot of people out there still trying to figure out how they can become an effective speaker. Here are the steps on how to be an effective speaker:

1. Never memorize your speech. Memorizing can make the delivery of your speech worse. It can make you sound like a robot and when you miss a single word, the whole sentence that you deliver may differ in meaning. It can make a mess. It will make you worry because all you do is stay on the script. Let your words flow naturally. Speak as if you’re speaking in front of your friend.

2. Be prepared. Being prepared means that you need to prepare your materials such as your note cards, projector, presentation, hand outs, etc. If you are bringing hand outs, you must make sure that you have enough copies for your audience. You can bring extras just in case. Be sure that your projector works if you will need one.

3. Be confident. Your audience focuses on you when you speak in front of them. You have to be confident. You need to show it to them. Through your confidence is how your audience will believe in what you are saying. You must make sure that you won’t have any bad breath so that your audience will not go away or take a distant step from you. If you do, use the hydro floss oral irrigator as well as therabreath and read this oramd review . It is important that you brush your teeth and rinse your mouth with mouth wash to make sure that you are pleasing in the eye of your audience.

4. Know your topic. It is more impressive if you know your own material and the subject matter itself. Always be sure that you walk the walk and talk the talk. Some people in the audience may ask you some questions so it is better if you really know the topic.

5. Have some notes. You may use index card to glance with. Many speakers actually use this to have their cue on when to speak. Notes are accepted in public speaking. These notes will make sure that you don’t forget what you are going to say especially the key point of the lecture. Notes are just there to help you. It is always important to really know your topic.

To be a good speaker, all these tips are helpful. Your speech is like a book. It has an introduction, a body and a conclusion and there is a main point. What’s important here is you deliver the main point of your speech and you are able to send the message with confidence to your audience.

Your Key to Dealing With Tough Economic Times and Expensive Heath Care Bills…

Posted by on Thursday, 25 March, 2010

You may not be very surprised to learn that times are tough right now for many people throughout the country.  You hear that the official unemployment rate is about 10% but secretly, many people say it is much higher.

However, this article isn’t really about doom and gloom.  In fact, I want to believe that things are going to get better, just like you most likely do.

Health is very important to us. And when times get tough, people get stressed. Sometimes this takes a toll on your health.

It is no secret that many researchers have discovered evidence that suggests the health of our bodies are very connected to the health of our mouths. Yet people have problems with this in many regards!

One is the cost of dental treatment. The other is a lack of understanding, about how to improve dental health at home. These two factors are very related. If you understand good home care, you have a much better chance to keep your teeth and gums healthy AND avoiding expensive dental bills at the same time.

Here are some tools that can help.

1. The hydrofloss -  Oral irrigation can be very helpful to your dental health – however this particular device is, in my opinion the best. It has been studied and the studies have been published in the Journal of Clinical Periodontology not once, but twice!

2. Therabreath moutwash – pH balanced, oxygenated mouthwash – very powerful for combatting bad breath and even gum disease.

Taking care of your dental health often needs to extend beyond just regular toothbrushing and flossing. After all, if they were enough to truly maintain your dental health, then why are so many people walking around that need or have had expensive dental treatments?  In time, you will begin to understand that what you do at home can have a major impact on your health, well-being and your wallet – all at the same time!

Get more information on this topic from the book: What You Should Know about Gum Disease – available at Amazon and other online book sellers.

Why Are People So Strange…

Posted by on Sunday, 3 January, 2010

Have you ever had the distinct notion that people really do not know what they want or even what they are looking for?  I believe this to be true because you can find someone who states that they want a solution to something. You offer them the perfect solution and yet they are not interested.

Next, you see this person get something that you know for sure is not going to help them solve the problem they stated to you.  It is really interesting.

You try to help someone and they turn down that help and go in a direction that you know will not help them.  Some people have to learn the hard way, I guess.  In fact, it seems that most people have to learn the hard way.

It is also insulting when people don’t trust you enough to take your advice. But, that is life. Everyone, is living in a world of confusion. If they knew the perfect answer for themselves, they wouldn’t be looking for any answers.

This shows how incredibly ignorant human kind is. I am not singling anyone out here. I am including myself. So do not think that I am talking directly to you.  I really mean all of us that are human.

Take the topic of gum disease for example. It is an important problem that many people have.  Yet, most people are not aware that they even have gum disease.  They will not believe you even if you tell them.

However, the statistics that dental care professionals share with us indicate that up to 80% of people have gum disease right now.  You can talk to people until you are blue in the face about this problem, but they still won’t believe they have it or that they should do anything about it.

It is kind of like bad breath. Many people have it, but they don’t seem to realize that they have it.  They get use to their own breath.

We live in a strange world.

Are We Really All Connected? Or, Are We Really All Seperated?

Posted by on Sunday, 3 January, 2010

I overheard an interesting conversation the other day. The woman that was talking to another said that she believes we are all ‘connected’.

After thinking it over for a bit, a few questions came to mind.

If we are all connected then why do people feel lonely at times? One would presume that if we were all connected that it would be impossible to feel isolated or lonely.

Another thought is that if we are all connected why do we have so much trouble understanding each other?

Why do people miscommunicate so often? This doesn’t require much explanation because frankly, everyone has experienced the effect of misunderstandings in even the most basic of human communication.

Why do people fear telling others about bad breath, when it is easily solved with a product like therabreath? It is an act of kindness to tell someone.

Why are their wars? If we were so wonderfully connected there shouldn’t be any warfare. Any issues that come up would be rapidly solved by the innated understanding that should come from being connected.

Why is there so much diversity in our various belief systems and backgrounds. Let us face it, many cultures are almost diametrically opposed. One cultures ‘normal’ idea is another’s radical thought. This is similar to freedom fighters and terrorism. What one man calls a terrorist, another man will call a freedom fighter. This is living proof that our perceptions and beliefs are radically different from each other.

Why can such a powerful tool for oral health, such as the Hydro Floss oral irrigator – be a big uknown for so many people?

One some people call evil, others call good. How can this be? If something is bad or evil, it just is so. Why would someone else call it good?

With so many different ways of thinking, so many different believes, so many different value systems and all the variations of human thinking – how could we be all ‘connected’.

How come more people don’t find out about a good thing, such as Oramd, more quickly, if we are all, ‘connected’?

I’m not sure there is a good answer to this. All I can say is that if *I* were in charge – all of these problems would go away! Ok- Just kidding. I’m not such an egoist.

I am not sure how to answer these questions, but feel free to comment if you believe you have the answers!

Nappy Gingivitis Breath…

Posted by on Sunday, 3 January, 2010

The new affectionately slanderous and in vogue slur among today’s youth: "You have nappy gingivitis breath"! This is usually followed by an even more endearing taunt which we can’t repeat here.  I am quite sure your imagination is funcioning quite well at this point.

Though said in good fun, some people really do have gum disease and gingivitis – and often, but not always, this is accompanied by bad breath. This is also known has ‘halitosis’.

There is something slightly ironic in this innocent sounding ‘bust’. Many of the people who bandy it about may very well have gingivitis themselves! Yes, the stats tell us that up to 75% and some say 80% of the population may have some form of gum disease right now!

The worst part is that many who have it, do not even know. In time this problem can lead too lose and lost teeth. Many people don’t even realize that they have been nursing an unhealth case of gum disease until the dentist or periodontist tell them.

The sad thing about this is that once the teeth become lose, they may want to do surgery on you to correct the problem.  People seldom get gum disease in one isolated area. This could spell a great financial burden.  Something like Oramd could help.

It can be expensive to lose teeth and have implants or dentures created.  In both cases, you really have to realize that the substitute is not as cool or good as the real thing.

A bit of know how and prevention knowledge could make a big difference. Such information could allow you to avoid expensive dental treatments and keep your teeth for a lifetime.  Regular brushing and flossing may not always be enough to prevent gum disease. If it was, would so many people have it? Ummm – probably not. ‘An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure’.

Yo, you might have nappy gingivitis breath and not even know it!

Ozonated Water? What’s That For?

What Do You Do With Ozonated Water?

Well you can use it whether you’re healthy or sick, it might be helpful in either case. It’s simple to make, all you need is water and an ozone generator. Helping to get more oxygen into your brain, may help you to think more clearly.

Ozonated water might also help to get rid of those toxins that are in your body. It’s a great way to cleanse your body of toxins that could have been sitting in there for years. So how do you go about making the ozonated water for this process?

It’s simple fill a normal glass up half ice and half water. You can use any type of water, because when the water is ozonated it might help to get rid of the contaminants that can be floating in your tap water. Place the tubing from the generator into the water and if you’re doing a glass leave it running for up to 10 minutes, pitchers will take up to 25 minutes.

The ice you placed in the glass or pitcher will help with more ozone being absorbed into the water. Plus it will make the water nice and cold too if you want to drink it immediately. In order to get the full effect of the water you have around 20 minutes to drink it in, or the ozone will be completely gone.

Tip: If you have to get rid of bad breath, try therabreath!
Ozonated water will might help to detoxify your system when it’s placed into the body, and it may also help to boost your immune system too. The only cost you will have is the cost of a generator, but that will well be made up in time when you start making your ozonated water.
