DIY Prison Tattoo Gun Made From a Sony PlayStation

playstation tattoo machineWhen there’s a will for a hideous piece of skin art, there’s a way. A detainee at Brook House Immigration Removal Centre in West Sussex, Britain was recently caught with one of the most inventive PlayStation hacks we’ve ever seen. After gutting the console, the prisoner attached the motor to a ballpoint pen with a sharpened tip. Et voilà! A DIY tattoo machine! Sadly, the prisoner’s gadget was confiscated during a routine check of the rooms at the detention facility.

Of course, prisoners have been inking themselves and others for ages. One of the first known tattoos appeared on Ötzi the Iceman, who lived approximately 5,400 years ago (as long as you’ve got ink and a sharp object, you too can tattoo). And, especially in Russian prison culture, tattoos are incredibly important to tell stories, boast of crimes and display general bad-assery. Apparently, Brook House allows the PlayStations 1 and 2 within its walls, but not the Playstation 3, due to its Internet connection.

The visual art that in order to mark a two-dimensional medium and makes use of any number of drawing instruments , is called a drawing. Common instruments include: ink and pen, graphite pencils, crayons, wax colour pencils, chalk, charcoal, markers, pastels and stylus. Materials such as: plastic , leather , board, canvas , glass are used but the most common is paper .

Drawing is one of the major forms within the visual arts and is also a form of visual expression . Drawing is emphasising an observation, composition and problem solving .

In car design marker sketching is an essential skill . I will show you a cool car drawing using the following tools : Chartpak markers, BIC black ballpoint pen and a A3 marker sketchbook . First we draw the basic car  including the wheels . In nice proportion, we sketch and add shapes to the basic volume of the car. Shape of the side skirts and the bumper by adding more details, like side mirrors. In order to figure out surface treatment, add cross section . Bring a few details into interior .  First Put colour over shaded areas and then you can add basic body colour. For the reflection , leave some white space . To define shapes more precisely , add another layer of marke . You can add more contract is you want to . To simulate the sky reflection  , add highlight reflections . With a drop of red you can add more detail to the rear light and wheels . To make the sketch pop out of the canvas , create at least a sign of the environment  .

The darker colour of the background  it improves the overall perception of the sketch and also improves the contrast . For the final touch, you can correct minor mistakes and can the image to Photoshop and play with the contract and brightness until you are satisfied with the result .

The next cool car drawing I will show you how to draw Ford Model T , this is an old model . You can use a B lead of a mechanical pencil . But you can easier draw the lines with a finer pencil. This is not so important, in fact you can draw with any kind of pencil. I suggested the B pencils because they are easier grade to use when you are learning , due to the softer lead . The item that you must have nearby , is the eraser . Look at the  car and you will see how simple it seems to draw it. Drawing is in fact very simple.

Cars evolved very much over the years . It started with a steam car , after that it was the electric car which was  replaced by the gasoline car . Lincoln Cabriolet and VW were the largest selling imported vehicle . Because of the mass production , we can know afford to buy a car . A whole new way of life was brought because most of us have cars . Car racing is a great sport that tests the performance and speed of cars . A formula 1 vehicle has a rear engine , just one seat ,  rear  wings and no roof.

Something drawing can make you feel desperate but in the end you will draw something really spectacular that will make you forget about all the failures. I’ve heard something interesting that I will share to you, someone told me that if you look at your drawing in the mirror, you will see the mistakes more clearly or just have a break and look at your drawing the next day.

This is how to make a retro car drawing on your computer: first of all you need to create a new file, then choosing the Paint Bucket Tool you can paint the layer in white. And with anew layer you will create the car’s contour. To represent very accurate contours use Stroke Path. The layer containing the contours can be erased by moving it on the recycle icon.. By using the Brush Tool you can paint the car. With the command Make Selection you can select a Pen Tool to mark out all the details. With Gradient Tool you can add volume. Grey-dark and white colours are used to process the metallic part. For tires we use dark colour. Except the background’s layer, you can merge all the other layers. First we have to copy the car’s layer, selecting Image-Adjustments-Brightness-Contrast you can represent the car in this layer in black colour. By using Edit-Transform-Distort you can move this layer by distorting it a little. To blur the shadow you can use Filter-Blur-Motion Blur. With the Eyedrop tool you can paint the new layer and change it with Blending Mode. Gradient Tool is necessary to apply a darker part and on Overlay change the layer’s Blending Mode. The reflexes are inserted on the grey parts. To create a picture frame you can choose Rectangular Tool and Crop Tool.

A cool car drawing will be great after some practice. So don’t give up. You can use all the tools that are best for you.  To practice. Draw anything you see. It will help your future performances. The scanning process and the drawing will improve with time. The bad parts from drawing will disappear after consistent practice .

How to Build a Pencil Crossbow

Posted by on Wednesday, 9 December, 2009

Take your spitball firepower to the next level with this guide for constructing a No. 2 Pencil Crossbow, one of many undersized armaments found in John Austin’s must-read new book Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction.

For those familiar with the classic Bic pen’s true function—not as a lackluster writing implement but as the ideal barrel for a middle school-era rubber band shooter—Mini Weapons is the Holy Grail: a beautifully illustrated guide for making all manner of miniature munitions, from slingshots and catapults to mines and bazookas, with supplies that can be found in any household, office, or classroom. You can start turning implements of work into instruments of war by picking up John Austin’s Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction on Amazon and can find more information at JohnAustinBooks.com.

Supplies:

  • Pen – 1
  • Pencil – 4
  • Rubber Band – 7
  • Tape – 1
  • Wooden Skew (ammo) 1+

The #2 Crossbow is a larger variant of the other bows found in this book. With a structurally solid design and double elastic power, it is equipped to fire large realistic skew arrows. It sports a pen-housing barrel that helps with both accuracy and control.

Step 1:
Using four thin rubber bands, rubber bands, assemble two pairs of unsharpened wooden pencils. Both sets should be identical and tightly secured.

Step 2:
Crisscross the two sets of pencils. Center one of the pencils frames on top of the other towards a selected end. This end will ultimately be the front of your #2 Crossbow. While holding the pairs in place, use one or two rubber bands to fasten the frames into place.

Step 3:
Disassemble the plastic ballpoint pen. You may need a pocketknife or pliers when removing the rear pen cap. The hollowed-out pen housing will be used for your crossbow barrel. Discard all the other pen contents.

Step 4:
Position the pen housing on top of the pencils, as shown, then secure with tape. It is important that the pen housing sits on top of the rubber bands and that the barrel is not obstructed by them.

Step 5:
Slide two wide rubber bands between the tightly secured pencils ends. The pencils should lock the bands into place, but if they don’t add an additional thin rubber bands on the ends. The wider will ultimately provide you with your elastic firepower.

Step 6:
Bring both ends of the rubber bands together and attach them using strong tape. As you secure the bands, try to create a small ammunition pouch with the tape. It is possible you may need several pieces of tape to fasten the bands together securely. Pull the assembly back a few times with your fingers to test.

Step 7:
Your #2 Crossbow is now complete! Slide one wooden skewer (used for cooking) or a 3/16 dowel into the pen housing. Gripping the wood arrow and the rubber bands, pull back and aim your crossbow launcher. Release and watch it fly!

Always operate your crossbow safely. Watch out for spectators and never aim the shooter at anyone. Wooden skewers usually have pointed tips, which can make them very dangerous. Styrofoam targets are ideal; but you should never place them in front of a breakable backdrop just in case you miss your target. Do not use the #2 Crossbow if any of its rubber bands show signs of wear.

Start turning implements of work into instruments of war by picking up John Austin’s Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction on Amazon. Then, check out JohnAustinBooks.com for printable zombie targets you can use to test out your mini weapons.

Duo converts laptops and monitors into tablet PCs

Posted by on Monday, 24 August, 2009

As consumers hold their breath for the rumored Apple tablet, KCI Communications has an immediate and possibly better solution for those who can’t wait to get touchy-feely with their screens.

The Duo turns monitors and laptops 17 inches or smaller into a tablet. A small device that acts as a “base station” clips onto the top of the monitor, continuously picking up the user’s input with the Duo pen. Lee Jae-jun, head of research and development at KCI Communications, explains the technology: “The pen’s coordinates are calculated by the amount of time it takes for the infrared and ultrasonic waves to be reflected from the base station.”

The user can write or draw directly on the screen in eight different languages, marking up Web pages, documents, or PowerPoint presentations while using the pen to navigate through the desktop. One of the more remarkable features is that the Duo also converts into a ballpoint pen, letting the user take notes on traditional paper and watch them appear in the included NoteTaker software.

Earlier this year, we reviewed Canon’s Papershow, a dedicated paper-to-screen device that’s mostly aimed at professionals who want to conduct interactive PowerPoint presentations. A similar gadget is the LiveScribe Smartpen, which is geared toward students, linking audio to written text. But the Duo appears to be is the first device to capture ink and convert a plain monitor into a touch screen.

How Is A Tattoo Made?
In the most basic terms, tattooing is the process of puncturing the skin and depositing pigments below its surface. As discussed earlier, many different materials and techniques are used to create tattoos, but I will limit myself here to the modern Western method, which employs an electric, hand-held tattoo machine. This lightweight metal object looks like a mutated, top-heavy ballpoint pen, and it sounds a lot like a dentist’s drill.

Is it safe to get a tattoo or piercing?
Yes, completely safe for most people Tattoos and piercings are safe, as long as each artist and the entire studio strictly adheres to Universal precautions and Blood Borne Pathogen Safety. You can be assured that Hartford County Tattoo requires each artist to hold client safety as the first and foremost priority. We have the highest level of sterilization possible and go above and beyond all local health codes and laws. There has been some concern recently regarding transmittable diseases (particularly Hepatitis-B and AIDS [HIV]) and tattoo shops. Just as in a dentist’s office, as long as the area is strictly sanitized, your chances for infection will be greatly reduced. Note: If you plan on getting lots of bodyart (pierces or tattoos), you should seriously consider getting immunized against Hepatitis-B. Hep-B is a much more serious concern than HIV as the virus is much more virulent and easier to catch. No, they are not. You need to feel comfortable with your tattoo artist.

What is the best time of year to get a tattoo?
Although you can get a tattoo any time of the year, your skin gets a lot more abuse during the summer with swimming, tanning and just being exposed to the elements more. Winter time is really the best season to get a tattoo.Although you can get a tattoo any time of the year, your skin gets a lot more abuse during the summer with swimming, tanning and just being exposed to the elements more. Winter time is really the best season to get a tattoo.YES.

I just got my first tattoo, and it’s leaking clear puss!! What should I do?
If your tattoo is leaking clear puss, is it infected? Know what the warning signs of true infection are and what symptoms are not cause for concern.

How do I take care of my tattoo?
You will receive aftercare instructions after your tattoo session. Please take these instructions seriously to ensure proper healing. Above all, keep the following in mind: keep it clean; do not scratch – especially don’t pick at the scabs; keep your tattoo out of the sun until it heals; do not go swimming until healed; and avoid exercising until healed because stretching and pulling the skin can affect the tattoo.Generally, tattoos heal in about 2-3 weeks after the procedure, during this time, the tattoo should be kept clean, dry, and out of direct sunlight. Many artists recommend the light use of moisturizing lotion on the tattooed area during the healing process.

DO TATTOO NEEDLES BECOME DULL WITH USE?
Tattoo needles do not dull with age, but instead become sharper by the repetitive honing motion they experience in the tattoo machine. This happens because the metal of the sanitary tube rubs against the needles, and the softer metal (the needles) will wear. The problem with these sharpened needles is that they sharpen into flat razor-like edges, and begin cutting the skin instead of piercing small  on how it’s asked, this question probably receives the most amount of flames when posted to RAB. The general concensus is that there is only “one way” to do it, and that is to apprentice, period. There is far more to be learned about the art and business of tattooing than what can be obtained simply from a book (e.
