New high-speed videos filmed in X-ray and visible light show dogs drink just like cats. But with more mess, of course.
There might be many occasions when you were playing your favorite symphony under the piano lamp or piano lamps with your lovely kitty by your side. That may be a comforting sound to your kitty, but they tend to get startled by sudden loud noises. It’s not easy for them to understand what these sudden and varied loud sounds imply. Upon listening such sounds, cats are usually in a complete bedlam as to what they should do and where to hide in order to prevent themselves from the sounds. Besides, cats have sensitive hearing.
It may occur occasionally that your kitty can grow used to some loud sounds on her own. Yet at times, the intensity can startle it which can eventually develop into a phobia. When a cat is frightened, it is not much different from a child who has encountered something overpowering and frightening. It actually needs your attention at that moment as it cannot understand by itself that there is nothing to be scared of.
But if your kitty becomes frightened, you can definitely help it get over cringing, hiding and freaking out reactions on hearing a sudden loud sound. The most frequent sounds that can possibly scare your pet are that of thunder and fireworks. However, some artificial sounds such as that of a building instrument can also raise the fur of your kitty. What you can do is either discard the source of sound or if that is not in your control then at least try to soothe the kitty. Here are some necessary steps you can take:
• Try to keep your kitty away from the source of the noise. It’s better to take it to a centralized room where the sound is less.
• You can also try to calm it by playing some soft music. For instance, the sound of the harp is quite soothing to the animals.
• You can be the best distraction when your cat is frightened because they look towards humans as a maternal substitute. So pet and distract the kitty until the noise subsides.
• If you still feel that there is some anxiety left subsequent to the original startling effect, then this can be a long-term phobia. You can desensitize your kitty to loud sounds by exposing it to the low volume of the similar sound and then slowly increasing it overtime. This will familiarize the cat to that sound and then it will not respond the same way. Even during the exposure, you can calm or distract your kitty. Another way is to lure your cat by providing a special treat as a gift for what it has gone through.
The desensitization is required for around all loud sounds, but you may need to repeat the process depending upon how provoking the sound is for your kitty. One thing worth noting is that all cats don’t respond the same way. But generally speaking, your cat will be less likely to fear such anxiety-provoking sounds and not act anxiously.
I know from experience that my teen wants every electronic gadget that is out there. There are so many to chose from and they are so similar even. There are just different makers and they look slightly different. One popular gadget is the iPod, this being popular with teens, adults, children, everyone. My daughter has been begging for one of these, this also being one of the more expensive gadgets to buy and the one that I would be most upset about if she lost! The iPod being great though because of the capability to load tons of music onto it and take it everywhere. But again, the easiest one to be lost or stolen.
Another gadget that teens want are cell phones, I’ve already given in and bought one for my daughter. She now wants one that takes pictures and has Internet capabilities. I have not gone that far yet, however having a cell phone is the ideal teen item. All teens want one and so many already have one even. The pricing plans vary and my daughter so far has stayed within her minutes. We added her to our family talk plan, so the increased cost wasn’t too much, compared to getting a completely separate line. The phone a lot of times can be received for free through your cell phone provider to further cut the cost of getting your teen a cell phone. All teens want and I think parents too, is the Nintendo DS and the Game-boy Advance.
My daughter has both of these, every teen wants one of these because they are able to link the games up to other users and then text message back and forth and play games together. Also, Nintendo Dogs and Nintendo Cats is still the most popular games out there for these hand held, portable game systems. Teens want these because if they don’t have a cell phone or can not use one at school they can use these to text message, draw pictures to one another, and play the games against each other. These are small, but expensive and so are the games.
But the graphics are really good and the cases come in different colors and there are lots of accessories to go with the game systems. lastly, teens definitely want the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, or the X-Box. The systems are much more expensive, even more so than a cell phone. But, they can play DVDs on all three, so if you do not have a DVD player you could always use one of these game systems as one. Every teen wants these, especially the Wii, because of the inter-activeness of the system and the very cool games that offered.
