Do you know anything about digital cameras? Many people think that we can use our digital camera to capture many nice images without using any other accessories. However, in my opinion, we still need some accessories to help us in photo taking so that we can enhance the quality of the images. Therefore, I will write about the three most important accessories for us to use together with digital camera to get the best image.

These are not listed in any specific order and I do not assume in any order of value either although if you were to push me for an answer, I would place a tripod as my number one accessory. It will also rely on what kind of photography you are pursuing as to which one will be number one to you. They are, however, accessories that I would list as important to the gear bag of a photographer.

1. A tripod
If you do not already have a tripod then get yourself one. Find the most expensive one you can afford. A proper solid tripod is important to the kit of a photographer. There are a number of locations when light conditions are not good and the additional stability helps you make crisp, sharp images. Just a little camera shake will cause blurring to some degree in the final image. A tripod is particularly effectivewhen shooting close-ups of flowers and small creatures and helps you to have complete control of your images.

2. Remote shutter release
This is coupled with the tripod and is important when avoiding camera shake. Even when your camera is mounted on the tripod, the most basic action like pushing the shutter button can still trigger camera shake and prevent you from taking the sharpest images. It works very simply either connected by a cable to the camera or using an infrared connection to activate the shutter.

3. A good circular polarising filter
A polarising filter cuts down glare and reflections off shiny surfaces. Those of you who have ever owned or used a pair of polaroid sunglasses will understand the effect that it has on shiny and reflective surfaces. This includes foliage as well. When using polaroid sunglasses while looking at water you are able to see below the surface if the water is clear. The sky becomes bluer and the green vegetation greener. If you are landscape photographer you will really benefit from a polariser. I think about this essential. One tip though is that you should always use one that has the parallel or higher quality of your lens. There is no point in putting bad glass in front of good glass.

Summing up, I will suggest you to own all three important accessories that I have stated above. Those accessories can really help you to get the best image quality. However, if you are not afford to purchase all three, you can choose one of them that serve your particular needs the best. Have fun with your digital camera.

I have a DSLR and enjoy taking pictures now and then, but I’m far from being a professional. Those people always seem to have a million and one accessories to help them get the perfect shot. If you’re one of those people, then you might find interest in this latest gadget from RedRock Micro.

The microRemote is an iPhone holder that will allow you to remotely control your camera from afar, while using the phone to display relevant information. While being able to adjust things such as aperture, and f-stops remotely isn’t exactly new, I’ve not seen anything quite like the DSLR focus controller. The knob you see on the side will actually allow you to adjust the image focus. It’s going to be the closest thing to actually holding your camera, without being anywhere near it. Look for it on sale sometime this summer for a whopping $1,000.

By Chris Scott Barr

No one wants to get a trojan on their computer, for quite obvious reasons. Thus one is careful about the sites they browse, the links they click and the software they download. Generally doing these things will keep your computer free of such malicious bits of software. But have you ever considered that your hardware might be hiding something nasty?

Apparently the Energizer DUO USB Battery Charger has been carrying around a nasty little trojan that can wreak havoc on your system. CERT has issued a warning and stated the following:

An attacker is able to remotely control a system, including the ability to list directories, send and receive files, and execute programs. The backdoor operates with the privileges of the logged-on user.

That’s right, something as simple as plugging in your USB battery charger could give someone complete control over your system. I think the question on everyone’s mind was how in the world the trojan was put onto all of these in the first place. The file is tied into the installer for the charging software, which also means that downloading it from Energizer directly was no better an option. (In my best Ricky Ricardo voice) “Energizer, you’ve got some ’splainin’ to do.”

On a bright note, Mac users were not affected. The OSX version of the software was found to be clean.

New electronic gadgets are always a fun topic as they bring up some very interesting devices which you never thought that a human mind could invent. For instance, have you ever imagines that someone could ever invent a Solar Power Electronic Calculator with 4 ports and one USB? This blue gizmo does not need batteries to run. You can attach to the calculator to your computer, laptop, keyboard and even MP3. The little gadget only costs $13 and you can only use it with Windows operating systems.

The Bloodhound cell phone detector is one of those new electronic gadgets which is useful for companies more than it is for regular persons. This gadget is able to detect any usage of a cell phone within a certain limited area. I hear this is a great idea for the criminals inside prisons or other correctional facilities that illegally use mobiles inside bars. I’m thinking it would also be a good idea for teachers to monitor the student which are taking an exam, as copying via a handset has become quite popular.

The item below is something I would love to have around the house when I am working on my job documents. The Pure Lady massage chair has benefits and offers pleasure beyond imagination. Sit back, relax, and let your body benefit from this marvelous experience. The beauty of it is that it is easy to fold and to be stored away even if you apartment is small. I thought at first that this is a great way for relaxing and doing some work at home in the meantime but come to think of it, who can think about work when you are getting a comforting body massage?

For those people who want to keep a complete control and a non-stop monitoring of their surroundings and the temperature in their homes, one of the latest gadgets launched on the market is Multi-Room Climate Monitor. For only $89.95 this gadget can monitor the air moisture and temperature in several rooms and will warn you if the humidity increases over 60%. Oh yes, it also shows the 24-hour forecast and the current weather. The base station has a 4 inch LCD display which will provide you with a cool calendar and a timer (these will automatically synchronize). The display will show a flashy icon that will warn you when the humidity level is too high. This system comes with a base station and other three remote indoor sensors. This gadget is powered by an AA battery for the base station and two other AAA batteries for each sensor.

If you want to save some money by spending as little on electrical energy as possible, for only $10 you can buy a Programmable Digital Timing Timer & AC Plug Socket. With this gadget, you can set any time value between one minute and a week helping you gain more control of your electrical appliances. If you ever leave home and forget the lights on, there is no need to worry, as this little gizmo can turn the light off automatically.

How does it work?

You ask a question on Answers and then can follow as folks help out and answer your questions. This also creates a database of answers for multiple devices including MacBooks, iPods, and Sony laptops. It’s a good idea because Kyle has a great following of DIYers and most of them aren’t out to troll the forums with dumb questions or answers.

Here’s his mission:

Answers is a natural progression from our successful forums. The community will have complete control over the content on Answers, and the system will be collaboratively managed by you, and other people like you. Every question and answer can be voted on by anyone and edited by members of the community.

As we were designing Answers, we had four guiding imperatives:

 1. It’s important that posts get more useful over time. It’s not uncommon for a traditional repair forum response to become the canonical source for an answer to a problem, only to get outdated and stagnant as technology changes.
2. It’s important that we recognize expertise. It matters if the author of an answer is a professional technician, or has helped 200 people fix their problems.
3. It’s important to make helping people fun. There’s a rush that comes from helping someone solve a tricky problem, being recognized by people for the research you put into a question before asking it, or testing your hardware diagnosis mettle against others.
4. And most important, we need to close the feedback loop between the people answering questions and those asking them. Repairing things is uniquely tangible — when you use a solution proposed by someone, you know for a fact whether or not it worked. Finding out that the answer you gave someone actually fixed their problem is one of the greatest feelings in the world.

Well done, Apple. You’ve finally done it. You’ve got the world bending the knee for a device they’ve never seen, and which you deny exists. Condé Nast has declared that Wired will be Apple tablet-compatible by mid-2010, although they admit that Apple hasn’t actually told them how they might go about doing that. While this isn’t exactly comparable to adjusting office doorway heights in case someone hires a Yeti, the parallels are clear.

Of course, it’s not so strange to want to streamline your product for tablet access. Make sure column flex doesn’t break the layout, don’t put critical links in rollover menus, that sort of thing. But if the Apple tablet is anywhere as interesting as people hope it will be, I doubt you’re going to be reading Wired in a browser anyway. Quixotic would be too kind a term for what they’re doing; not only are they tilting at windmills, but the windmills don’t officially exist.

Maybe that’s too harsh an estimation of Condé Nast’s effort. After all, the tablet may not officially exist, but it doesn’t officially not exist either. And we’re pretty sure it does, so that settles it. Whatever the case, it seems unlikely that anything they do now will be relevant to Apple’s new platform. It’s been said that it runs iPhone OS, that’s it’s this big and uses that processor, but as a content provider the only thing you need to know is it’s Apple. That means they’re going to have complete control of it from the bottom up; they hold all the keys and if they’re not letting you in, you may as well wait. A damn-the-torpedoes approach is the wrong one here.

Apple’s not really the only target of this initiative, though. HP has released some tablet specs that Condé Nast is working with, and an Adobe Air-based platform for magazine-type media is in the offing as well. A real magazine-style layout with embedded videos (and ads of course) is the goal, but it’s whispered that the NY Times is working with Apple on just that sort of thing. You better believe they’ve got their own framework set up, with the NYT perhaps advising, and of course Apple will force content creators to fit in that box. It’s a “something stirs in Mordor” situation: whatever you do to prepare can’t possibly be enough (that is, if the tablet lives up to the rumors). All you can do is rely on a plucky hobbit. I don’t know how Frodo is represented in this Apple-Condé thing, though. Note to self: avoid fantasy metaphors.

Here’s another snag in Condé’s plan, not Apple-specific but Apple-applicable:

The company intends to charge readers for each title, and it plans to convince the Audit Bureau of Circulations, the magazine industry’s standards board, that its online sales are equivalent to newsstand sales. That will allow Condé to charge advertisers the same rate as for print ads.

If Condé Nast thinks they will be able to charge $4, or whatever a Wired costs these days, to have a digital copy all wrapped up in Adobe, HP, Amazon, or Apple’s DRM, they’re going to have a disappointing launch. And although I suppose if consumers did manage to stomach paper prices for pixel periodicals, you might be able to convince advertisers to pay similar rates for ads. But the premise is unlikely, so the conclusion is even more so. As I’ve said, advertising is changing, and Condé Nast (along with many others) must adapt or die. Those really are the only two options.

In all likelihood, we will indeed be paying good money for virtual Condé Nast publications in a couple years. After all, if we don’t, the poor fellows will go out of business. But I think prices for subscriptions will likely stabilize far below what we’re paying for 12 glossies. Think 99 cents an issue. Sorry guys, but that’s probably what it’ll take.

But I’m making a big deal out of very little. Condé Nast wants to jump the gun a bit, okay, I admire their moxie. In the end, this rather depends on whether the Apple tablet is a revolutionary device or merely a sexy one. Sexy devices sell because they do what other devices do better; that’s the iPod. Revolutionary devices sell because they do something entirely new; that’s the iPhone. I’ll be happy with either one, personally — as long as it doesn’t use iFrame.

Review
If there’s one thing I hate about travel it’s paying for WiFi. WiFi, like air and a nice piece of sausage, is the birthright of every traveler from Spain to Texas yet free WiFi is almost impossible to find. Thankfully, FON and their new Fonera 2.0n router offer a way to get a free connection while giving something back to the community at large, namely free WiFi.

For those not sufficiently well-versed in FON, it’s kind of like Boingo for Communards. You buy a router and you automatically gain access to FON routers around the world – up to 700,000 in all. You can see a map of access points on the Fon website.

The device itself costs $99 and is a small four-port router with one Internet input. It runs at 801.11n speeds and can act as a 3G-to-WiFi converter with the right hardware. You can also connect a hard drive to create a NAS server.

When you’ve connected your router you log in type in a WPA key printed on the side of the device. You then can add all of your information including your YouTube, Facebook, and Picasa logins. Why? Because the router can take over your image and video uploads after you’ve completed them, offloading some of the upload time to the router itself. Want to download torrents? The Fonera box will do it for you while you sleep and it will save the downloads to the attached hard drive.

The coolest thing, however, is how it shares your WiFi. You have complete control over how much bandwidth you want to share and you even even share in the revenue generated by the share. When you turn on the router it starts two access points, a public one and a locked private one. The public one displays a pay wall for users, the same pay wall that you will use to gain free access when you’re travelling.

Bottom Line
The Fonera 2.0n is a compact little device and the mission – if not the actual implementation – is fresh and exciting. For about $100 you essentially have free WiFi all over the world. The service is only as good as its coverage, however, which makes this a sort of hippy-dippy free love stab at web access – noble but doomed to be popular with only a certain subset of the population. If you’re in an area with lots of students and other idealists, look for FON routers to be plentiful and useful. Wall Street? Probably not.

Regardless, it’s not expensive, there are plenty of great built-in features, and even if the FON dream fails you can still say that you’re supplying WiFi in the mode of “From each according to his DSL connection, to each according to his needs.”

Webmasters use web hosting for the launch of their websites on the internet.Once this website is uploaded, people from all over the world can access the website via internet. The services provided in websites of businesses, educational institutions and service organizations can thus be accessed and used by people from all over the world.

It is possible to opt for your web hosting from one of the many different types of web hosting companies available. If you are on a budget, you can also consider doing your own web hosting. It is possible to take advantage of all the features of a web hosting company, and have complete control of your site with your own web hosting methods.

There are however some drawbacks and disadvantages associated with this alternative, even if you do save money. If you end up doing some improper web hosting, there is the passivity of all your accounts and files saved in the computer getting hacked. It is only if you install an efficient firewall software will you be able to avoid this.
By doing your own web hosting, there is a chance that your attention may get diverted from the running of your own business. Consequently, this problem may lead to a loss in the job, or a problem in business because of this lack of concentration on your job.

how for your own web hosting, it makes it difficult for each and everyone to do web hosting on their own.In a nutshell, it means that you should consider doing your own web hosting only if you have the necessary knowledge to do so.People who don’t know anything about web hosting should not try it in the bid of saving on money. You only end up creating problems and a delay in the launching of your website.
