Yesterday at BlackBerry World 2011 we were fortunate to sit down and chat with Chris Smith, Senior Director of the BlackBerry Developer Platform, along with Rasmus and Karl from The Astonishing Tribe. One of RIM’s recent acquisitions, TAT is known for some rather, well… astonishing user interface designs, and for infusing a bit of magic into some of the PlayBook’s apps, such as the bundled picture viewer and calculator. We were shown a number of demos, including the downloadable Scrapbook app, a rather nifty contact list, and a location-aware news reader. Over the years, TAT has built an engine and framework that make it easy for developers to create powerful and attractive UIs, and some of this will be making its way into the PlayBook’s native software development kit sometime this summer. Along with support for Open GL ES 2.0, SQLite, cURL, and POSIX (amongst others), this NDK will provide API’s to control the audio system, the cameras, and the sensors — possibly even code to enable stereoscopic 3D output over HDMI, as demonstrated before. We know that’s a lot of exciting stuff to sink your teeth into, so be sure to get a taste of it by watching our video.

An iPAQ GPS unit is a great tool for personal navigation on the highway or in crowded urban areas. With an iPAQ GPS, the coordinates are easy to get and follow, and traveling becomes really stress free. iPAQ has a photo viewing application that allows one to add coordinates to pictures and then store them for later applications. The real photos can be displayed against the geographic coordinates on the map. The iPAQ technology makes it possible for users to create personal mapping systems according to personal and business needs. The device comes with marketing tools, access to web portals and the possibility to transfer land and property data for improved business productivity.

The iPAQ GPS provides visual and vocal guidance for the access to the shortest routes that save time and money. The iPAQ GPS model is considered an HP success in terms of computer compatibility too. The prices for the most advanced packages are a bit spicy as not everyone will invest more than $330 in an iPAQ GPS system, no matter how high tech it may be. Complete maps of the US and Canada are provided together with a Bluetooth receiver. iPAQ owners will be pleased with the travel quality that this kit brings.

If you check the online reviews for iPAQ GPS device, you’ll see that there are good bits and bad bits about this HP product. Considered a bit bulky according to some critics, the receiver makes a good match with the dashboard by its anti-slip features. The more secure alternative is the mounting of the iPAQ GPS on the air vent. It comes with a built-in Bluetooth technology that makes the wireless connection and the data transfer possible to another hardware such as thermal transfer printer or portable printer, and you can perform the map installation upload according to the radius segments that you see fit. When you’ve got the maps you can navigate by contact list, by favorite destinations, by specific address and by intersection.

With iPAQ GPS, you can choose the device features; thus, you can alternative roads over highways or you can select the shortest route to the destination. There are some competitive products that are less comprehensive in terms of features but the turn by turn directions are impeccable and so is real-time information. Thus, you can find out the remaining distance or the estimated time of arrival and also learn about restaurants, gas stations, ATMs and hotels. The accuracy of the device is very high and even if you miss a turn, the device performs a rerouting to get you back on the right track.

While there’s certainly nothing wrong with making your own videos and releasing them on YouTube – in fact I utterly counsel that you do – there’s a very potent way to get thousands of visitors, either to your own videos, your band’s website, or even better a promotional offer like “sign up to our contact list to get our new single for free”, or some other such thing, by simply paying other YouTube users to include a link to your site within their outline box.

*Tip* For more sound advice on Music selling go to Promote Your Music Online or Promote Your Music Squidoo

If you do not quite know what I’m talking about go to Youtube and search the most viewed videos. You need to find a few examples of videos with the link in the outline box.

To the right of the video you must see a link. This is an instance of what I’m talking about.

To try this you simply take the following steps.

Search YouTube with keywords that relate in some way to your song or your band. For instance, if you had done a cover of smells like teen Spirit you may search words like Nirvana, smells like teen Spirit, Grunge, and so on.

Next, sort the results by “view count”. You’re looking for videos with hundreds of thousands, or perhaps millions of perspectives. Disregard any videos that are posted by the artist themselves or any videos that already have a link in the outline box.

Then all you have to do is send the users of applicable videos a message explaining that you want to pay them on a once a month bases to put your link in there outline box.

You will possibly only find that one in each ten or 20 folks have an interest in your offer, but if even one link on a very viewed video can suggest thousands of new visitors, and potential new fans each month.

This is just the top of the iceberg.

*Note* I would recommend that you use this strategy with 2nd tier record companies at first and then try your hand with he bigger boys once you have some singles and a good sales previous record under your belt. Maybe even try and get a music publishing contract first.

Most famous labels want to see that you have had some success on your own before taking the danger and offering you a huge advance.

But to be absolutely honest with you for an instant, the concept of getting a record deal for me is a real turn off these days. I have discovered an easy system to create a list of fans and sell my music that’s completely new to the music biz.

This stuff is actually cool and you must definitely check it out below.

With that acknowledged I do hope you enjoyed learning how to get a recording contract and if you have any feedback or questions please make me aware. You will be getting tons more free music selling guides form me over the approaching months.

There are a tremendous amount of features accessible for you to use on the iPhone. In explicit, your iPhone contains a two megapixel, high quality digital camera. This is nice news for shutterbugs, as you are doing not have to take a camera and a mobile phone with you. All you would like is your iPhone. Digital photography together with your iPhone has never been easier. Instead of using your telephone to talk, just point and “click” actually tap your finger, to get nice high resolution pictures that you’ll be able to immediately send to everyone on your contact list. A webapp that has about all the functionality, but usable on any HTML5-capable smartphone.

The webapp mimics the functionality of hitting up Google Voice on your desktop. You can make calls, send texts, listen to voicemails, change your settings and access your contacts all from your phone's browser. It syncs up with your Google account's contact list—not your iPhone's contact list—so you'll have to make sure to sync your contacts to Google first. The Pre however, if you already have your GV account as one of your contacts, should have a more transparent process.

Unlike the Google Voice app now, which calls your phone first and then connects the other party, you actually dial out directly into the Google Voice service, which then hooks you up with who you're trying to reach. It's going to be like the 406 numbers that Google Voice users are used to using for shortcuts to their contacts, but possibly not 406, since Google has a pool of numbers they are using.

Google also tells us that you can add dialing credits directly from the phone if you want to make overseas calls, saving you the trouble of having to get on a computer.

All in all, the experience is solid and fluid, mimicking an iPhone app as best as possible on a web interface. If we had any gripes, it would be that when you're texting someone from your contacts list, it only grabs the phone number and doesn't display the name after it. Also, that you can't text multiple recipients. But calling from your contact list is fluid and takes only one more step than regular dialing from your iPhone.

It's not as good as a native app, but it's more than adequate. [Google Voice]

One of the easiest ways of trying to promote a product is by emailing about it to thousands of people. Unfortunately most bulk emails do not reach the recipient because of the bulk email blockers setup found in various email accounts. When the bulk mail is blocked, it is sent into a separate email folder making it difficult for the recipient to access it from their inbox.

Having good email management software can be beneficial for a company facing such problems. Let’s look at what more benefits bulk emailing has. Unlike trying to sell a product in a showroom, emailing provides the chance to communicate directly to the target market in a more efficient manner. Advertising and other promotional costs can be cut down through the use of email. Organizations who are in the process of trying to sell products and services can be sure of profiting with the lesser usage of print media, advertisements on the radio or the television. Seattle Bellevue Renton HCG Diet & Weight Loss

If most email account providers block bulk emails as spam, how can one send bulk emails? Email management software provides the answer. In addition to managing the bulk emails, the email management software will also manage large volumes of emails that have been received by customers. Inbound inquires can be responded to in a short span of time. Seattle HCG Diet & Weight Loss.

Most companies that use email management software can be sure of being able to send auto-responses and also recommend responses to their agents. There are also software’s that help in tracking customer queries. If you like to send emails that are more customized and personalized, email management software could do it for you. Such emails could be sent to selected recipients or groups. Seattle Bellevue Renton HCG Diet & Weight Loss.

Most email management software programs have a set of email templates that can be used when emailing clients. It also has a tracking system and a contact list of all the management capabilities, thus giving you many possibilities of creating and emailing something new to the target market.

A good tracking system in the email management software will assist in measuring the response rate of a selected email campaign. Most of the email management software will give you the chance of checking if the email messages that were sent were delivered or read by the recipient. Having a multiple list on the address book will make it easier when dealing with customers for future dealings.

While I look for someone who can try out the app on his or her Windows Mobile smartphone, here are some five quick questions answered by Dymo’s PR:

CardScan Mobile uses OCR to decipher the text right? Yes.

Do your testers have a failure rate regarding text reading? In other words, out of 100 tries, how many times does the software get the text wrong? The characeter-level accuracy is around 96%, but this rate has everything to do with picture quality. So if “100 tries” refers to perfect pictures, it’s high accuracy. If “100 tries” contains some bad pictures, it’s lower accuracy.

Which versions of WinMo is it compatible for? CardScan Mobile works on Windows Mobile Smartphones OS 6+

CardScan Mobiel is available from the Windows Marketplace for Mobile. Price is $15. <del datetime="2009-10-24T06:13:23+00:00">Unfortunately, I can’t seem to locate the application on the site. Apparently there are problems with WMM, so hopefully by the time we get a review out, we’ll be able to provide a direct link for those who want to buy Dymo CardScan mobile.</del> Visit WMM with your WinMo smartphone.

gawkerGallery(5331825,3,'MyTouch 3G');

Done? Good. This phone is exactly the same, except that the myTouch has a slightly different finish, and T-Mobile released an App Pack filled with two handfuls of essential apps on the Android Marketplace for it. That's what we're going to review today. Also, keep in mind that this is running on T-Mobile's 3G network, which isn't quite as good as if you imported the device and used it on, say, AT&T's 3G network, which has more coverage.

gawkerGallery(5331771,4,'FreshFace');

FreshFace: A theming app for your Android. It has the ability to add small widgets like an RSS reader and a notepad onto your desktop. The FreshFace desktop pretty much takes over your real desktop, which is good, because FreshFace offers five pages of apps instead of three, but bad, because it's buggy.

Adds a little bit more functionality and theming, including new icons

Themes are mediocre

Occasionally buggy

gawkerGallery(5331772,3,'imeem Mobile');

imeem Mobile: Free streaming internet radio.

Decent enough for a free app, but not outstanding, considering Pandora and LastFM do this kind of thing much better.

gawkerGallery(5331773,2,'T-Mobile Mobile Backup');

T-Mobile Mobile Backup: A free contact list backup service from T-Mobile. Kind of unnecessary, since your phone already syncs with your Google account.

Not really sure what this app does that your Google account syncing doesn't already do. Maybe if you want to switch to another phone that's not an Android phone?

gawkerGallery(5331774,5,'Flixter');

Movies by Flixter: A movie showtimes app that also lets you watch trailers, read reviews and browse DVD catalogs.

Pretty decent movie catalog app that does as much as you'd expect

gawkerGallery(5331790,3,'My Account');

T-Mobile My Account: Quick and easy access to all your phone's account info, including your activity billing, your plan and any alerts you may have. For some reason this only works over your cellular connection, so you'll have to shut off Wi-Fi.

Easier than loading up the T-Mobile site

gawkerGallery(5331791,4,'Phonebook');

Phonebook by Voxmobili: A replacement phonebook that sorts your contacts into a more usable manner. Plus, it's colorful.

Better, in many ways, than the official Android dialer. Definitely replace your contact list with this

gawkerGallery(5331793,2,'Sherpa');

Sherpa: A fancy Yelp-like app that can help you find local shops (eateries, theaters, cafes, grocery stores) using your phone's GPS.

It's just like Yelp, and quite useful if you're trying to find stuff within walking distance

gawkerGallery(5331795,2,'Visual Voicemail');

Visual Voicemail: It's visual voicemail.

It's visual voicemail.

gawkerGallery(5331796,3,'WorldTour');

WorldTour: Periodically sets your wallpaper to live webcams around the world, like Paris

A little bit goofy. Would be better if the wallpapers were higher quality
