iBUYPOWER announces liquid cooling for the hot Level 10 tower

Posted by on Thursday, 11 February, 2010

I had a chance to see the Thermaltake Level 10 case at CES, and it looks as good in person as it does in the pictures. Of course, the design is intended to provide excellent air cooling, but it looks like iBUYPOWER is taking it one step farther and providing a liquid cooling for it as well.

I prefer liquid cooling to be honest, given how loud fans need to be to cool some of the hardware on the market today. It’s more efficient, quieter, and definitely increases the life of your system. This update is part of iBUYPOWER “liquid Cooling Initiative that features no-additional-cost watercooling on any iBUYPOWER rig. The Level 10 case cooling system is limited to a liquid CPU cooler, and is based off of the Asetek 120mm cooling unit.

If you want a Level 10 case with liquid cooling, you’ll have to buy it from iBUYPOWER. The company only sell it as a system build, so your price will vary depending on the specs. The liquid cooling is free though, when you buy the system, but it’s not available anywhere else.

From the press release:

El Monte, CA – February 11, 2010 – iBUYPOWER, a leading innovator in gaming PCs, is excited to announce the first and only liquid cooling solution for the Thermaltake Level 10 enclosure. Working together, iBUYPOWER and Asetek engineers have developed a system that allows the mounting of an Asetek Liquid cooling system in the Level 10 Chassis from Thermaltake. The Levels 10 unique asymmetrical design features individual compartments for various system components, putting space at a premium and conflicts with standard mounting of liquid cooling systems. The adapted liquid cooling system in iBUYPOWER systems fits a 120mm Asetek LCLC system to the chassis.

“At iBUYPOWER we are always up to a challenge,” said Darren Su, Vice President of iBUYPOWER. “The Level 10 case dimensions do not accommodate standard liquid cooling systems, and required us to design a cooling system that fits its exact dimensions. It’s just another example of iBUYPOWER’s dedication to innovation.”

“When iBUYPOWER decided to liquid cool the Level 10 Chassis, Asetek’s Total Solutions Team was quick to respond with the guidance on how to optimize liquid cooling performance in this unique chassis,” said Steve Branton, Asetek’s Director of Marketing. “This our commitment to ‘Thermal Management Done Right!”

The new Level 10 Liquid Cooling solution is available now exclusively at www.iBUYPOWER.com on Level 10 systems at no additional cost, as part of iBUYPOWER’s 2010 Liquid Cooling Initiative, dedicated to bringing liquid cooling to the mainstream gamer at no extra cost. Other iBUYPOWER Labs innovations include iBUYPOWER’s Power Drive Overclocking Service, Harmony Sound Reduction System, the Internal USB Expansion System (improves front panel and internal USB connectivity), and the Specialized Advanced Packaging System (expanding foam packaging to prevent damage from shipping).

So Everybody Can Purchase a Portable Computer

Posted by on Monday, 8 February, 2010

The world is never the same with the great advancement in our technology. It simply made it a lot smaller with all the innovations introduced to the people that with just a click, you can already contact a person that is at the opposite side of the world. Not only can you talk to him but also see him.{This is made possible by the computers that we now all know about.~This came into being with the help of, among others, the computers that most people already have in their homes.

Computers, especially laptops computers, used to be patronized by only a handful. The reason for this is the price which at first was far from being affordable as well as the lack of knowledge in the operation of the machine. As the world turns however, so is the education that each one has. When before, majority are not computer literate, today, you will find very few people who does not know how to use the computer. As expected from the nature humans have, it is only expected that they will keep improving their craft particularly with the computer technology. From the crude computers of yesteryears now comes the laptop computers of today that vary in style, design, features, colors, accessories and whatever your imagination can reach. Computers are so common that you can even get a pink Apple laptop if you love pink.

More and more people are recognizing the convenience and great use these computers laptops can provide them.Laptops are not being preferred over the desktops now that the prices have become inexpensive. People also prefer laptops because they can be personalized like with the Apple pink laptops.

Before, only the moneyed are those ones who can afford to purchase these computer laptops. When it was new in the market, it can very well cost you your arm and leg.The preference of consumers is the desktop since they are more affordable. With the onslaught of varying brands and models of laptops in the market however, computer companies have begun outdoing each other and have started producing laptops that are not as expensive as before. Now there are many best buy laptops for every budget. As such, more and more people prefer these computer laptops over PCs since the latter is not something they can bring anywhere and would even require the use of a bigger amount of electricity having more cables that need plugging than a laptop. Also, it is a fact that laptops and PCs today do not differ in cost except maybe for the top of the line laptops that includes inside it high end features that are usually used by people involved in technical work.

These computer laptops are now part of many people’s needs given the fast moving and changing lifestyles majority of individuals have.Young ones and adults alike can now avail of computer laptops since they are no longer as expensive as they used to be.With the wide array of choices of laptop computers made by different companies, people are now presented with a selection that can suit their daily requirements that will not put a dent on their pockets.

While the choices is not the problem anymore, the difficulty lies on how to choose the right one for you.It is important to consider not only the price but also the features that the laptop has.It should have everything that you require such as the speed, the size of the memory it can handle, the size of the screen, the capacity of the hard drive, the model, the brand, the warranty and all the other small things that you should first carefully scrutinize before you finally decide on what to buy.

Military-grade wrist keyboard built for fighting and Twittering

keyboard

TwitterSoldier69: What a day! Glad it’s almost lunch! Need to reload machine gun later! Mondays, blah!

The iKey AK-39 may just be the most intimidating keyboard ever. Well, maybe not but it does look pretty cool for a keyboard. It features green LED backlighting and can even be configured in night-vision mode.

It’s built for drops, spills, and harsh elements, too, as it’s rugged enough to meet MIL-461 military standards.

According to the product description:

“The AK-39’s small-footprint design features essential components for military and public safety applications, including an integrated Force Sensing ResistorTM (FSR) pointing device with left- and right-click functionality, and adjustable green LED backlighting that is also available in a night vision (NVIS) compatible configuration. Designed with gloved users in mind, the AK-39’s snap-on faceplate eliminates accidental key strokes and can be easily removed to clean the pad.”

If you’re thinking of buying one, prepare to pay. There’s no pricing info except for an “Add to Quote” button on the company’s site. Any time a company representative has to call you to sell you a keyboard, it’s not going to be cheap.
