If you’re looking for a middle-of-the-road desktop replacement without breaking the bank, you may find that Sony’s new VAIO E Series suits your needs. Starting at around $800, you get an Intel Core i3 CPU, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive, HDMI out, Bluetooth, and Windows 7.

This base configuration will begin shipping in early March but future configurations will be available with Core i5 processors, Blu-ray, and up to 8GB of RAM. Each model features a quick-boot “WEB” button that quickly pops you into a web browser without the need to completely boot the machine into Windows.

Available styles will include “five translucent, high-gloss colors— Caribbean Green, Iridescent Blue, Coconut White, Hibiscus Pink and Lava Black— and three matte colors—Maple Brown, Silver White and Gunmetal. Subtle patterns can be found on the lids, of the glossy models, with the palm rest mirroring the color of the PC adding a splash of brightness to the unit.”

You’ll even be able to deck out the full-size keyboard in various colors with optional skins. The Core i3 models are available for pre-order now, with more options (including the Core i5 chip) to be revealed on February 7th.
