Someone working on Google Chrome OS must be a big Metal Gear fan!

Sharper eyes than mine have spotted this little easter egg in the Google Chrome OS Demo video that Google published yesterday. (Or were you completely off the grid yesterday, and didn’t know that Google hosted members of the media to demonstrate Google Chrome OS?) Big Boss? An e-mail from Yoji, asking you to be on time today? Snaaaaake!
So yeah, apparently someone on the development team is a big Metal Gear fan. (Yoji Shinkawa is a character designer at Konami, and Big Boss hopefully needs no explanation.) Google instantly wins, like, 10 Awesome Points for the references.
And that’s all there is to say.
Are Nintendo Wii Cheats Really Worth It?
The ever increasing love of the Nintendo Wii has also created aburgeoning demand for Nintendo Wii cheats. Because game consoles such as the Wii have become a major aspect of our lives, the necessity to finish the titles successfully has grown. But as you will no doubt know, ‘beating the game’ can sometimes be very hard, and so there’s no harm in progressing with a cheat here or there.
However, there are a selection of players who use Nintendo Wii cheats to get afast fix to getting stuck on a specific level of the game. But what if these stages were designed so that you do get stuck? The explanation might be that if you use your mind and imagination in making an attempt to crack the issue you may discover a completely new enjoyment to the game.
Fortunately, there are other types of Nintendo Wii cheats that you might want to test out. These cheats let you have a good time without always changing the gameplay. These let you unlock secret features that might be there in certain stages of the game. This is what is known as an ‘Easter Egg’ in gamer’s lingo and can add extra surprise and enjoyment to the game.
Players are absolutely justified if you say you need to play the game with complete liberty, without the demand of having to finish one specific level in order to progress on to the next. But in your rush to reach the end, it might be sensible to be careful not to spoil the interactions with the videogame by using Nintendo Wii cheats.
Nintendo Wii was made to offer interactive entertainment to game players of all ages. Complex titles for which you have got to rack your brains aren’t a part of the ethos as Wii is focused on relaxingand not taxing your mind. So in the act of making an easy game even simpler by using Nintendo Wii Cheats you could be missing out on the subtleties of the game.
In other words, only employ the Nintendo Wii Cheats where absolutely neccessary and play the game to the maximum!
Light-Up Body Parts Lawn Ornaments Is One Of Those Decorations You Can Leave Up All Year Round

Yes, they’re slightly more appropriate for Hallowe’en, but these glowing dismembered body parts lawn ornaments could be used for any holiday throughout the year. Christmas, Thanksgiving, birthdays, Bah Mitzvah… Just dress them appropriately and I’m sure the neighbors won’t complain one bit when you’ve hidden a decorated Easter egg behind that foot sticking out of your front lawn. $16.98 from IWOOT for a set of 4.

The 404 422: Where Rana Sobhany is the frosting on The 404 cupcake
Thanks, Josh!
(Credit: Joshua Chu)
Who cares about Apple’s little iPod refresh yesterday–it’s Rana Sobhany‘s birthday!! We were already excited to have Rana on the show today, but we had no idea that she’d be bringing treats. Turns out that Ms. Sobhany has been indulging her foodie side recently and baked us CUPCAKES to celebrate! Since we always strive to be perfect gentlemen on the show, we don’t pry too much into how many birthdays she’s celebrated so far, so I think it’s safe to assume that Rana has spent a cool 19 years on this Earth.
We all get a little nervous when Rana quiets us down for some real talk, and lo and behold, she calls me out big time on my Valentine’s Day fumble. Be sure to watch the video show to see how I make it up to her on the air.
On the second half of the show, Rana shows us a really cool iPhone app called Sonifi. Created by electro artist BT, the sensory application lets users physically manipulate the artist’s work, essentially performing a live remix! Rana demos the app for us and soon the studio transforms into a big birthday rave.
Also, a big thanks goes out to Joshua Chu for Photoshopping us into a scene from “Futurama!” We can’t believe you don’t do this for a living, Josh. I think our favorite little Easter egg is the Apple logo on Wilson’s case. Great work, dude!
Leave us a voice mail at 1-866-404-CNET or e-mail the404(at)cnet(dot)com and let us know what you think of the show! Also, be sure to wish Rana a very happy birthday!

The 404 415: Where Wilson draws the short straw
(Credit: PacsWorld/Flickr)Wilson is “out sick” today, but we’re lucky to have Ms. Natali Del Conte nearby to replace him on the show. She was working out of the office last week, so we take this opportunity to update ourselves on all things NDC and you’ll be surprised to hear of the changes coming to Loaded. We’re so proud of her. Congrats, Natali!
We officially kick off this Monday episode by defining the Web’s trendiest new buzzphrase, “augmented reality.” We’re not sure who came up with it, but it’s all the rage in the world of iPhone apps. For example, Yelp built an Easter egg into its app that uses the smartphone’s GPS to superimpose digital data onto the world through the camera, making it easy to view restaurants, taxis, bathrooms, and subway information around you. We think it’s pretty cool, but Gawker has its own application ideas, like an app called ClubLech, which uses facial recognition and user-inputted data to identify all the singles in a room. Sounds creepy and, like a lot of technology, it takes the fun out of getting to know someone in person. Plus, who wants a digital sign superimposed over their head pointing out their depressingly single relationship status?
Are you having a hard time saying goodbye to “Reading Rainbow?” We are, too. The show has been on the air for 26 years and just recently celebrated its final episode on August 28. We’re sad to see a relic of our childhood go the way of the dodo, but it makes perfect sense, since we’re pretty sure kids are just illiterate now, so why have a show to promote books? But don’t take our word for it; just ask a kid to define the word “Scholastic.“
If you want to get your voice mail heard on the air, just give us a call at 1-855-404-CNET and tell us what’s on your mind! Could be something about one of our shows, maybe one of the hosts, or just something random that popped into your head. We’ll take them all!
