If your laptop is ‘blessed’ with one of those massive black power bricks then Elecom has a pretty simple adapter you can slap between it and the power cord, providing you with a couple of extra outlets. The adapter is available in a 2-prong model for about $15, and a 3-prong grounded one for about $21, though single outlet versions of each are also available if you don’t have room to carry that extra inch of plastic.

This morning Elecom released a whole slew of new card readers, and while most of them just seem to feature a new color or slightly more compact design, this particular model, the MR-C20, stands out thanks to its magnetic backing that lets you stick it to a filing cabinet or PC tower instead of having it cluttering up your desk. It’s also available in trendy colors like black, white, fluorescent green and hot pink, but like most readers these days it eschews support for compact flash in order to stay compact.

Japanese gadget maker Elecom has announced the TK-TCT005BK [JP], a combination of a numeric keyboard for notebooks and touchpad supporting gestures. You can switch between both functions by pressing the “Num” button on the top left of the device.

The touchpad lets you zoom in and out by using your fingers (see the graphic below). However, the USB device only works with Windows PCs.

This is too sweet: Japan-based gadget maker Elecom will soon start selling the “Sundries PLAYBRICK”, Lego-shaped ear phones [JP]. This is the same company that brought us the “Soundblock”, ultra-cute mini speakers, just recently.

You can choose between six colors (black, blue, red, white, the inevitable pink and mixed for the undecided). The Lego ear phones are Japan-only, cost $23 and will be available from the middle of this month.

Japanese perhipherals maker Elecom has a new mouse out that’s sure to appeal to germaphobes.

The M-SP1UR Soap optical mouse is a basic three-button USB pointing device that’s meant to resemble a rounded bar of soap. Heck, it even says “SOAP” on it.
