Alright, so the Ivy league team of neuroscientists, led by Prof. Matthew Botvinick, can’t yet read your minds without the help of a functional MRI, but one day the group hopes to take your silent pauses and broadcast them for public consumption. By mapping highlighted areas of brain activity to words meditated upon by subjects, the group was able to create “semantic threads” based on “emotions, plans or socially oriented thoughts” associated with select neural activity. So, what good’ll these high-brow word association experiments do for us? For one, it could pave the way for automatic translation machines, extending a silicon-assisted grok into our nonverbal inner worlds that churns out computer-generated chatter; giving a voice to those incapable of speech. And if it’s used for bad? More terrifically horrific psychobabble poetry penned by Jewel’s unencumbered mind. Actually, wait. We might be into that.

The Museum of Modern Art in New York will open up an exhibit about the art of connected devices, called Talk to Me, on Sunday. It’s got around 200 pieces that are anywhere from thought-provoking, to weird, to beautiful, to hilarious. (I posted some of the more sustainable-oriented ones here).

In Japanese pottery, it can be separated into four key categories: porcelain, earthenware, glazed and unglazed stoneware. Another types of pottery is the Arita pottery, it is made with white and blue porcelain. The piece of this pottery is colorless in shade but employs an ink of blue under glaze. Often times, it is ornamented with Godly figures and outstanding people.

Another kind is the Imari pottery; it is named after the harbor in close proximity to the Arita. It is given due to the information that the harbor was used to export pottery all over the globe.
