Palm announces Pixi – but bet we don’t see it in the UK

Posted by on Wednesday, 9 September, 2009

The phone itself is a chocolate bar style handset that is apparently Palm’s thinnest so far. Its feature line up – two mega pixel camera, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphones socket, 2.63inch touch screen – suggest this is aimed more at consumers rather than corporates. It does however keep the full QWERTY keypad of the Pre.

T-Mobile Touch Pro2

T-Mobile Touch Pro2The T-Mobile Touch Pro2 is almost here. The T-Mobile Touch Pro2 is a brand new touchscreen device and successor to the very popular original Touch Pro handset. In fact, a lot of the features stay the same as the original model, however the display screen is upgraded to WVGA. Not only that, but the display jumps up to a superb 3.6″ in size. The corners are also more rounded, giving it a sleeker, more stylish look.

Features on the T-Mobile Touch Pro2 include: GSM quad-band – capable of global roaming, 3G, a 3.6″ WVGA touchscreen, 3.2 megapixel camera with video, Windows media player & FM radio, microSD slot, Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro, 528MHz processor, Opera web browser, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi, full QWERTY keyboard & mini USB port. As you can see, the T-Mobile Touch Pro2 is going to be one of the carriers’ top handsets of 2009. It’s got a superb feature line-up, a very stylish appearance & hopefully a competitive price.

Samsung Gloss Review

Samsung GlossA Samsung Gloss review states: “The Samsung Gloss is a compact flip phone for US Cellular. The design of the phone is interesting to say the least. Flip it open, and you’ll find a full QWERTY keyboard & fairly large display screen. I can’t say it’s super attractive, but it does fold up into a nice little square.

The Samsung Gloss isn’t exactly a high-end phone, but it does have a couple decent features: a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, USB, MP3, microSD slot, 22 MB internal memory & a WAP 2.0 browser. I have to admit, the $29.99 price tag, full QWERTY keyboard and decent feature line-up is pretty attractive, but I just can’t get past the odd design. If you can get past the larger square shape of this phone, then it would be a great deal for a messaging handset.”

HTC Touch Pro2

HTC Touch Pro2The HTC Touch Pro2 is almost here. The HTC Touch Pro2 is the successor to the very popular Touch Pro. It’s expected to arrive at Sprint & T-Mobile very soon. For the most part, features remain very similar to the original. However, one important upgrade is to the display, which is now WVGA. The 3.6 inch display is large and vibrant. HTC did a spectacular job with the physical look of this handset. It’s almost, dare I say, iPhone-esque (not in every aspect, of course).

Features on the HTC Touch Pro2 include: GPS, WiFi, 528 MHz processor, 3.2 megapixel camera with zoom, Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro, 256 MB RAM / 512 MB ROM, touchscreen, full QWERTY keyboard, 3G, Stereo Bluetooth 2.1, microSD and Opera browser. Overall, it’s a very decent feature line-up, which you should expect to pay a premium for (but probably worth every penny).
