Taking a BMW Los Angeles auto dealer for a spin will be an experience that teaches you how the company devotes itself to producing a quality car that handles like no other. For what amounts to almost a century at this point, the firm has been involved in making high-end vehicles. The initials that you see are for Bavarian Motor Works. The company came from this scenic region in the south of Germany.

It got established in Munich in the year 1910. At that time it was involved in aviation, not auto making or BMW auto dealers. The company emblem pays tribute to this. The logo represents white bladed propellers coupled to a blue sky. This pair of colors will also be found on a flag for the state of Bavaria. Among other things, this area calls to mind the Alps as well as the Black Forest.

The first car model came out in 1928. It was called the Dixi. It kept selling well even in the depression. Once the 328 Roadster began production, the company witnessed an impressive set of wins in car racing. The number of wins topped 120 from 1936 until 1940. After the war concluded, more wins came the company’s way.

A market for luxury sedans enlarged in the 50′s. To gain access, the company came out with the roomy 501. The 502 that followed had a light alloy used for the engine block. This was innovative and the firm already had a reputation for this sort of state-of-the-art design. The Isetta though held the lead in sales in this era. This mini-car had a motor with only 12 horsepower.

The 1500 was a sports sedan sold in the 60′s. The next decade was marked by many advances in design. Turbocharging became available along with more sophisticated electronics. The 3, the 5, and the 7 Series were all introduced. These continue to be the lines that feature what the company has to offer by way of luxury sedans. For the exotic performance cars, look to the M Division.

For the 90′s, production got relocated to several foreign countries. This is when plants started to open in the U. S. The company was by this point seen as the ultimate provider of grand touring cars. They showed grace and style in handling high speed and long distance driving. They were more than a match for anything else on the road in both performance and luxury.

You have also been able to obtain quality motorcycles from this firm since the 20′s. SUV’s have more recently been an addition to the model make up. There are now a vast array of models to select from, everything from small coupes to large luxury wagons. In production are some of the most powerful and fastest models that have ever hit the road. It may seem strange then that gas mileage is so good on these. This is testament to the care taken to achieve the utmost in efficiency.

A Car Buyers Guide For First-Time Buyers – Don’t Be Taken Advantage Of As You’re Inexperienced|Some Important Pointers For First-Time Car Buyers

Posted by on Tuesday, 19 April, 2011

When you purchase a TV or an electronic, you get minimum 10 days to have that buyer’s remorse kick in and return it. Many individuals think that there is a three-day grace period they get on a car purchase. They think that if you take a car home and you’re not satisfied with it, you can always return it. Under no situation does that happen though. With that into consideration, let’s get down to some pointers in our car buyers guide for first-time buyers of new or used cars. If you are about to buy a car, whether you’re looking at new or used cars, for the first time, your first problem is your credit score.

The problem is that even if you have a good FICO score, that’s not the kind of score that many dealers are taking into account. They search for a special FICO score just for car purchases that’s not open for viewership in the public. This is a score that only rates you for the kind of behavior you’ve displayed so far in life purchasing cars. When new buyers arrive, they just get turned down for financing.

It’s a horrible way to do business, but there it is. There are other obstacles that exist on your way to having your first car too. If you are under 25 (particularly if you are a male teen), getting your car insured can be highly expensive. Even used cars can be incredibly expensive to insure.

Every car buyers guide needs to tell the new buyer this – that as attractive as it all looks, you just must never Get a car paying under 20% down. Technically you could; but if you go and do it, you’ll be upside down on the car. What this means is this: the moment you drive the car off the lot, it will lose value; at that point, you’ll be right away in debt for a larger amount of money than the car you have in your hands is worth. And that is the situation you need to avoid at any costs. Only purchase a new car if you are able to put down 20% instantly. And only if you can pay the car off in 4 years.

Why four years, you wonder? You don’t want to be left paying for your vehicle for five or six years. If you need to do that, it’s a sign that you’re buying a car that you can’t pay for. It’s not just the repayment installments that you owe on the car you know – there other factors that contribute to the cost of your car ownership experience – things like gas, insurance and maintenance. Far better than purchasing a cheap new car would be buying great quality used car like a Honda or a Toyota that can give you many years of painless service. Remember, a car that you can’t easily pay off in four years, is a car that’s well above your level. It’s the formula, and it’s what every car buyers guide points you at.

All You Should Know About The Many Car Products On The Market

Posted by on Sunday, 17 April, 2011

Owning a car is never as easy as purchasing one, gassing it up, then driving it around to your heart’s content. There are things such as insurance policies to consider, as well as registration, inspection, and the inescapable repairs. These expenses are often a big surprise when someone has their very first car (whether they select from new cars or used cars), and what astonishes them more is how much it might cost them for upkeep. If you look after your car, the price of the car products you purchase could add up quickly.

A few car products are extras, but some can’t imagine being without them. When looking at used cars, it’s important to bear these in mind. If you have a stereo of any kind in your car, you probably take it for granted. Imagine your hour long commute each day without being able to listen to your favorite music or your favorite talk show. When examining used cars, let the salesmen know the music system is extremely important to you. Long drives get longer without this kind of comfort, so some of the most coveted car products are all kinds of stereos. These could be some of the most expensive too, depending on what you need.

Other car products that many don’t take into account until after they have obtained their car are things for security measures. You might feel silly putting an alarm on your very first car, particularly if it is a beater car, but if you stay where it could get stolen, you may need to do it.

It doesn’t matter how much the car is worth, it matters just how much it would cost you to replace it all. Other car products for this purpose are things such as the Club, and they could be a big help also. You may even wish to get something like AAA in the event you run out of gas, you may need directions, or you have locked your keys in the car.

Make sure you remember about the things that keep your car neat and looking nice. A few car products many new car owners get are meant to keep the interior and also the exterior clean. Things such as Windex are required for the windows, and many like to wax the paint job. Wax is actually a great idea as it makes an older car look newer, and it does its job to shield the paint job in some cases. Other car products might be things particularly made to keep interiors clean, whether they be leather or vinyl. There is also the cost of washing and vacuuming to take into account, though some slack off on those stuff after they have had a car for a while.

An Outline Of How Windshield Wipers Have Adapted Over The Years To The Modern Wiper Blades We See Today

Posted by on Wednesday, 22 September, 2010

With the introduction of the first car with the windshield, there was a need for something to wipe the windshield of water when it rained and dirt that was thrown from the road. In the first automobiles this was achieved by using a cloth or something similar to wipe the windshield, which normally meant that the car had to stop to accomplish this. This is why windscreens were small and literally just a windbreak, and most drivers used goggles and used the rear of their driving gloves to get rid of the water and dirt from their goggles.

As cars changed over time, so did the necessity for something to clean the windshield of water and dirt, and so wiper blades were created. At first blades were created from hard rubber strips that were tapered down one edge to form a shape like a blade; this was then supported in a rigid metal frame. These wiper blades were a massive step forward and cleared water and dirt from the windshield as they engaged on the move, but they were not very good at keeping the windshield clear in heavy rain.

The first wiper blades would usually squeak and shudder when they were being used, making them jump and miss out bits of the windshield as they operated backwards and forwards. The design of the wiper blades frames were improved to help stop this, and instead of a solid metal frame, the new frames were createdfrom metal that was sprung and only cradled the wiper blades at a couple of points along the wiper blade, allowing them to follow the curves of the windshield. These new wiper blades were created from soft rubber and were the first generation of wiper blades; these made it necessary to regularly purchase replacement wiper blades to continue their effectiveness at clearing water and dirt from the windshield.

Now that the wiper blade can successfully clear water and dirt from the windshield, developers now initiated trying to develop the operational life, while maintaining or furthering their operation. This was achieved by making the edge of the wiper blade flat rather than a point, essentially putting two wages on the wiper blade. This furthered the operational life of a wiper blade, as one edge of the blade wiped the windshield on the away-from stroke and the other edge wiped the windshield on the return stroke. These double edged wiper blades meant that the need to purchase replacement wiper blades happened less often, whilst furthering the wiper blades technique to clean water and dirt from the windshield.

The next improvement to wiper blades was created by switching from wiper blades created from rubber, to wiper blades created from pure extruded silicon resin, and this extended the life of the wiper blade by 3 to 5 times. These silicon wiper blades also improved the temperature range which wiper blades could be operated at, therefore increasing safety whilst driving in tough conditions. The majority of replacement wiper blades made from silicon possess a year’s guarantee.

Wiper blades today, incorporate almost all of these improvements, but there is one more improvement that has been made. This is the creation of a flat wiper blade. This is a frameless wiper blade that essentially means there is no metal frame to rust and break. These flat wiper blades also ensure that there is an even pressure along the blade, reducing almost all squeaking and shuddering. These flat wiper blades are created from silicon and are the height of today’s wiper blade technology. These wiper blades ensure that you will have a clear and muck free windshield in even the most tough weather conditions.
