convert WMV to MP4

Let’s speak about the newest excessive-tech products. I always hope that this could fire up a bit of gray matter creativity with all info marketers out there to assist get some new info merchandise made:

The “iPad:” I’m positive a buddy of mine talked about the “iPad” to me sometime previously, but I didn’t see one till the other day on the subway. A younger, hip-looking fellow got here on, sat down, slapped on his earphones, and, inside a couple of seconds of touching a display pad he had on his knees, he was grooving alongside to some music. That was the “iPad,” I thought. Later, a colleague showed me his. It’s like the “iPod Touch,” however bigger. You may view videos, access an entire roster of features, and carry a display screen round anywhere. It is pretty cool and new, and customers want as much data on it as possible. If you’ve acquired one, get out some data on it.

GPS: Some of my aunts got back from a holiday recently. They did not alongside the whole time. Why? One individual could not get the GPS to work. They argued, obtained misplaced, and every little thing went sour as a result. Proper there, you may imagine how much GPS information is needed, not only to seek out your approach but additionally to stop fights! GPS, or World Positioning System, was once considered a government, sneak-and-peak mechanism. Nowadays, vehicles are being built with them in the console to assist direct individuals to their destinations. It is like having “Google Maps” proper in your car. But again, some people are a little scared of how to use them. They want an data marketer to tell them how to decide on one, how they work, and how they are going to change the home partner scene. Obtained the products on GPS? Get going now!

Smartphones: What number of of you’ve got a land line left? Probably not as many as even a couple of years ago. Youngsters, grandparents, and even farmers are sporting pocket cellular gadgets regularly. The reality is that these gizmos will not be only for the stockbroker or undercover agent anymore. They’re useful to individuals who have children or people who are touring in a snow storm. They’re compact, effectively-designed, and have capabilities galore. But they are changing, too, both in know-how and the provision to the public, i.e. “iPhone” and “BlackBerry” units being supplied by corporations other than their mother or father companies. Are you a cellular guru? Bought an eye on the right way to make communication better and/or what’s on the horizon? The general public wants info, so get working to offer it. You’ll be rewarded for it.

Inexperienced expertise: For those who thought that environmentally acutely aware know-how is out of style, suppose again. More individuals than ever are interested by hybrid vehicles, inexperienced house variations, and photo cell technology. Perhaps it is an ingrained concern, or possibly it is people who actually need a bright future for his or her youngsters on this planet they reside in. Both way, expertise will help with that. You is perhaps on the cusp of it your self, and your info could go a long way with the overall public.

There’s extra to this checklist, and I am going to seemingly write extra on it later. But attempt these for now. Know-how is loopy, no question about it. It’s enjoyable and useful, but in addition really confusing. A really sturdy info marketer can both take away that confusion and become profitable to the public via educating others on easy methods to use this stuff. And that somebody could be you.

iPhone and Android phones are two different platforms and app search firm Xyologic is bringing that point home again with an analysis of the top apps on both platforms. Xyologic found that of the top 150 apps downloaded on each platform in 2011, 85 of the 150 on Android leaned toward non-gaming apps, while 100 of the top 150 apps on the iPhone were games.

Non-gaming apps on Android generated 91.5 million downloads in November compared to 33.4 million for games. Meanwhile on the iPhone, games in November generated 71.6 million downloads while other apps received 25.6 million downloads.

Android was actually even more tilted in favor of apps in 2010, with 116 of the top 150 apps being non-games. The iPhone used to be more balanced with 79 of the top apps being games compared to 71 percent for non-gaming apps.

Now, all but one of the top downloaded publishers on iPhone are gamemakers except for Instagram maker Burbn. On Android, the top 25 developers on Android were a mix of gaming and non-gaming publishers with Google at the head of the class. Google only had two apps on Android Market in 2010, Google Maps and Google Sky, but now the company has many more available on Android.

Here’s the list of the top 25 downloaded publishers on Android in 2011 according to Xyologic:
Google, Facebook, Rovio, Adobe, DroidHen Casual, Outfit7, Magma Mobile, Glu Mobile, Go Dev Team, Kittehface Software,Skype, Notes, Nikolay Ananiev, Swiss Codemonkeys, NHN Corporation, Yahoo, Handcent, Pandora, Al Factory Limited,Kaufcom Games Apps Widgets, Verizon Wireless, Runnergames, Backflip Studios, Polarbit.

And here’s the list of the top 25 downloaded publishers on the iPhone in 2011:

Glu Mobile, Gameloft, Big Fish Games, Rovio, Capcom, Chilingo, Storm8/(TeamLava), Outfit7, Electronic Arts/Electronic Arts BV, Gamevil, Halfbrick Studios, DeNa/(Backflip Studios/Ngmoco), Zynga/Newtoy, NaturalMotion, Pocket Gem/(Streetview Labs), Tencent, NimbleBit, PopCap, Playforge, Clickgamer, Com2uS, Burbn, Orangenose Studios.

This might not be news to some developers, who are aware of the relative strengths of each platform. But it’s interesting to again see how each platform differs, where the trends are going and where the opportunities lie. The iPhone is really becoming a powerful gaming device but Android is more of a broad provider of utilities and services.

With gaming on tablets, the visual experience is often top-notch, but the controls are unfamiliar at best — even inadequate at times. But adding a traditional joystick is impractical, especially when aesthetics is a key selling point for manufacturers. Chicago-based Knowles Electronics has a fairly practical solution, however, and hopes that some manufacturers will adopt its Mems Joystick. At just 1.6mm tall, the joystick is slim enough for a device to maintain a svelte profile, and the 400 microamps it consumes during normal operation is relatively negligible, according to company reps. Tablets are just the start — Knowles built a series of prototypes to demonstrate a variety of potential applications.

We took the joystick for a spin on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Motorola Atrix, Nintendo 3DS and a pair of laptops. All of the joystick prototypes connected using Bluetooth or USB, and were designed specifically for this CEATEC demonstration — sadly they won’t be available for purchase, though manufacturers could implement the controller into similar products. It took only a few seconds to get accustomed to the pair of joysticks mounted to the back of the Tab. Controlling gameplay felt natural, and we definitely preferred playing with a clear view of the display. We also navigated through Google Maps, and scrolled a web page — both experiences felt superior to moving around the touchscreen. The 3DS joystick functioned similarly to the native controller included with that device, though Knowles reps noted that it’s significantly smaller, and uses less power — and without compromise, it seems.

Jump past the break for a walkthrough of the devices we saw today, but try not to fall in love — you won’t be able to use the Joystick anytime soon, if manufacturers decide to implement them at all.

Garmin is best known for its in-car navigation systems, but today delved deeper into the realm of personal navigation with a brand new iPhone app for the eternally lost. For a dollar, you’ll get standard walking, driving and public transportation directions, but go premium for .99 a month or .99 for the year, and you’ll cop more add-ons designed to transform your iPhone into a full-fledged PND. Like the standard iPhone mapping system or HopStop, the subscription-based version of this app lets you integrate public transportation into your journey — but the added feature here is the ability to view public transit schedules like you can in the Google Maps app for Android. It also has spoken turn-by-turn directions, Garmin’s traffic routing and Google search, making it a handy alternative to a clunky navigation system. Check out the full PR after the break.

Poor France. The nation known mostly for its food and wine only has a few major sporting events to call its own, yet we — great, fat and lazy America — have pwned its most iconic one for seven years. That legacy could still live on — if you don’t mind shelling out 99 and sweating all over your living room floor, that is. Powered by Google Maps and touted as the official trainer of Le Tour de France, comes a Pro-Form training bike so hardcore, it even simulates potholes. Ok, we made that last part up, but it does allow you to feel the burn of 24 pre-set courses, or one of your own punishing design. For the ultra-committed indoor enthusiast, there’s also Intelligent Wind Resistance and a 20 percent incline / decline feature that’ll match the ups and downs of real life outdoor cycling without the hassle of the actual outdoors. Honestly, it’s a bit much and we can’t really see this thing taking off with the New Year’s Eve resolution set, but if you’ve always wanted that biker’s derriere, this is your trainer.
