About Netgear Drivers

Posted by on Wednesday, 6 April, 2011

Today, living life without a P. C. is unthinkable. But have you ever taken a minute and questioned how a PC operates with all its parts. Each part in your personal computer has to communicate with every other part for it to function properly. Operating systems like Linux, Mac, and Windows give the chance for you to operate the system. These operating systems contain inside them device drivers which allows different devices to communicate with one another and make the computer work as it is programmed. The basic elements of a regular PC involves the motherboard, processor or CPU, hard drive, RAM, sound card, graphic card, modem, and disc drive. For the PC to operate properly, each one of these devices need to communicate with one another. Drivers are those pieces of software that make this happen. And when it comes to graphic cards, sound cards, and modems, most of these devices have Netgear drivers.

Netgear is a corporation that offers network solutions for home and small business users and leads the industry in routers, adapters, storage solutions, mobile broadband devices, and wires. These are communication devices utilized by computers and Netgear offers drivers for all of these applications.

You may have experienced a slow running system even once you’ve cleaned your hard drive and eliminated system bugs. This problem can be ascribed to older driver versions, which requires updating to the most recent available version. Often, the first drivers could have without detection issues during release and has only become apparent thereafter. To resolve that issue, Netgear monitors and updates their drivers. These drivers are available for download to your PC. All you have got to do is match the new driver’s version with your PC and OS.

Netgear’s support page will assist you in finding the exact driver you want to enable your device to work with your personal computer system. Downloading the driver is ver simple. All that you need to do is fill in the product model number for the device you. After you hit enter, you will be brought to a new page where you can download the driver. The page gives instructions you can follow to download the new driver.

The company makes sure the new updated Netgear drivers can be easily found as soon as they’re prepared for download. They know the users need, whether business or private use, to have all devices operating smoothly. By constantly updating your Neatgear drivers, your computer will function at its highest level so that you can accomplish your jobs.

Netgear drivers are perhaps the most commonly utilized drivers, your PC is already kitted out with a few of these drivers.

What to Shop for When Buying a Portable Laptop Computer

Posted by on Saturday, 13 March, 2010

Are you spending too much time on your desktop? Maybe it’s time to get some outside air and still be able to use your computer. If you are sick of returning to the dark, damp workspace of your desktop, maybe it’s time for you to look for a notebook computer.

Getting a new laptop could be your window to the world, as you can take your laptop wherever you go. Work on anything you want wherever you are. It can also increase your productivity. But how can you find that new notebook that will do all the things you need it to do? Do you need a lot of disk space? Do you really need that high-end graphics processor? There are many places where you can find laptop bargains. Before buying a notebook computer, there are a few things you should consider.

The size of the notebook is a major factor in deciding which laptop you will want to buy. Other features you will want to look into are CPU, RAM, hard drive storage, DVD/CD drives, graphic cards and other peripherals. The larger size notebooks usually will have more speed, power, and built in extras.

Many of the notebooks currently on the market comes with Dual core CPUs that are a lot faster than single core processors (like the Celeron M or the Sempron) and allows you to do things much faster. If you want an even faster notebook, then you can get a notebook with a Core 2 Duo or even a Quad core central processor, but they will cost more.

Another thing to consider is how much RAM or memory the computer comes with. The more RAM you have, the more things you can do. The average notebook today comes with about 2 to 3 Gigabytes (GB) of memory. The memory can be cheaply and easily expanded if you know where to find a good deal and know how to install it by yourself.

The other thing you will want to look into is the hard drive storage. You will want a lot of this if you want to store videos or music on your laptop. DVD/CD RW drives are also a must have if you plan on burning music CDs or your home movies on DVDs on the go. Some of the more expensive notebooks even come with a Blu-ray player so you can watch high definition movies. If you are planning to use your laptop for heavy gaming, look for a laptop that has a separate, instead of an integrated graphics card.

These days, it is not difficult to find cheap desktop pcs. However, notebook computers are quickly becoming an essential tool in today’s life. If you search in the right places for a good shopping deal, you can easily find a laptop computer that can do most of the things you want for a great price.

The Definitive Photoshop Timeline [Photoshop]

Posted by on Friday, 19 February, 2010

Twenty years ago today, Adobe Photoshop 1.0 was released. And it changed the world as we saw it. Because it literally edited our vision.

Click on the image to see the high definition timeline

Photoshop is the invisible hand that touches everything around us. From advertising and commercials to the front page of magazines and political propaganda; going through motion pictures and art, Photoshop is everywhere, pushing the limits of reality, and morphing the world around us to fit what companies want us to believe, buy, and enjoy.

Back in 1987, when Tom and John Knoll created it, nothing could have predicted the deep impact this tool would have in our lives. At that time, there was photo manipulation, but it was reserved to a knowledgeable few, using airbrushes—which required a lot of expertise—and the first Quantel paint boxes—which required lots of money and training.

Photoshop—running on the first color Macs, accelerated by graphic cards by Radius and RasterOps—democratized all this. Image editing became accepted as a tool, and as the power of the machines increased, everything started to become possible for everyone. Like the first industrial oil paintings democratized art in the 19th century—with Cezanne, Monet, Gauguin, and VanGogh quickly taking advantage of the new cheap medium—Photoshop became the new inexpensive way to create new realities and alter the world surrounding us.

When Photoshop 3.0 introduced layers, things got even more dramatic. Together with tools like clone stamping and warping, Adobe’s image studio became the beautiful monster that it is today, capable of creating the most stunning works of art, and the most twisted works of marketing.

Happy 20th Anniversary, Photoshop. Here’s a toast for the next 20 wonderful and terrifying years.

Things You Should Know Before Buying HP desktop computer

Posted by on Friday, 1 January, 2010

It is very important to do research on your needs before buying a desktop computer especially HP Desktop Computer because they come with so many features and series. You should put some emphasis on the stability and service support for your next computer if you want to have a desktop computer for professional needs but if you wish to buy a desktop for home usage you may choose a brand which has a good processor for web surfing and can handle more multimedia applications.

A brand desktop computer like HP Desktop Computer which has been trusted for years has the answer to both your professional and personal home needs. HP or Hewlett Packard has long maintained its top 10 position in the computer peripherals industry as a trusted name and located in Palo Alto – California.

Some factors you have to looks into while purchasing an HP Desktop Computer:

  • CPUs –  the following features are keys to be considered when having a desktop computer

    1. Motherboard: Many PC manufacturers don’t publish the type of motherboard used in their desktops. Be careful about opt a branded motherboard for your desktop computer.
    2. Memory: System memory is very crucial – you can never have enough of it. Typically, look for at least 512 MB or 1 GB of memory in the desktop computer you wish to purchase.
    3. HDD: A typical hard disk by today’s standards would be about 80 GB at least. If you do a lot of downloading off the Internet, or edit videos or have a huge collection of MP3s, you would need at least a 160 GB hard disk drive.
    4. Optical Drives: A DVD-RW drive is now a standard feature in all computers. Make sure you’re getting at least a 40X DVD-RW speed. You can always buy a DVD-RW with higher speed when the need arises.
    5. Graphic Cards: If you play a lot of games, especially 3D games you will not want to rely on the in-built integrated video of your desktop computer. Make sure the system has a separate video card with at least an AGP of 8X and 512 MB of video memory.
    6. Sound: if you’re a computer audio buff, go for a separate third-party sound card. You can have a range of computer head set and speakers on offer, as well.
  • Operating System: Be sure that your desktop computer comes with a genuine XP Home or Professional edition of an operating system, which suits your computer’s configuration.
  • Monitors: You have a selection to make, whether you want a LCD or CRT display. You can go for at least a 15 inch monitor if you want a CRT or LCD display.
  • Technical Support: a prime consideration after sale support and warranty periods especially if you have no experience in troubleshooting computers. Most warranties last for a 1 to 2 years, quite enough for the average user.
  • Budget: You need to be sure that you get the best deal for your desktop computer. Usually, a desktop computer with less features cost less than a desktop computer with more features. You can cut down on costs by avoiding high end graphics cards or more multimedia enabled technologies.

Cool Shooting Games

Shooting games have got to be some of the most popular games on the planet. People invest thousands of dollars in gaming computers or laptops just to be able to enjoy high quality shooter games that aren’t just fun, they also test some of your skills, like shooting accuracy. If you want to try some of these games, we have gathered cool shooting games. Please note that in order to play some of the games below, you are going to need a cool computer, like an Alienware machine because cool games have high requirements.
<-300×250 Medium Rectangle – center->
I am not a shooter fan, I’m more of an RPG person but Clive Barker’s “Jericho” was pretty amazing even for me. It is a huge leap from Barker’s “Undying”. You play the captain of a special force squad which is sent on a mission apparently in the middle of nowhere. You are somewhere in the desert where you found a lost city that rinks with evil all around. You must destroy all evil which will eventually spread in the entire world unless you stop it. It has superb special effect but we recommend you don’t play it if you have any heart problems. It’s more than a shooter, it’s like a horror movie and you are going to see some pretty ugly (horrifying I might say) monsters that are waiting for you around the corner. To get the maximum thrills out of this game, try playing it at night, with all the lights turned off inside the house, preferably when you’re alone and turn up the volume of those speakers. We guarantee you will feel the “chills”. This game will only run on Windows Vista or Windows XP operating systems. You need a minimum 1 GB of RAM and a sound card which is DirectX 9 compatible. As for the graphic cards, you will need an ATI Radeon X1600, X1800, X1900, X1950, HD2900 or an nVidia GeForce 6600, 6800, 7100, 7300, 7600, 7800, 7900, 7950 and 8800.

What happens if you combine “Night of the Living Dead” with “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”? You’d probably get Left 4 Dead 2. This is an action shooter combined with zombie stories and spiced up with some chainsaws and axes. Oh, the horror! The game play is excellent. You can even see changes in the weather effects. If you liked the first Left 4 Dead you will love the sequel which has some very interesting upgrades and improvements. Sound cool? Well, if you want to play this game, you have to free about 7 or 8 GB of disk space and make sure you have Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 installed. The processor has to be (at least!!!) an Intel Pentium4 at 3.0 GHz. You need a DirectX 9 compatible video card and sound card, an nVidia 6600 or better. There are the minimum requirements. It would be ideal for you to have an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and an nVidia 7600 graphics card. Gather the necessary requirements and you are in for some serious zombie shooting.

Another candidate on our cool shooting games list is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.  The game makes much more sense if you played the first Call of Duty because the campaigns are somehow related. If you have a good PC backing you up then there is nothing that can stop you from becoming a real killing machine. The campaign is quite short so don’t start complaining and say you haven’t been warned.  Still, this won’t prevent you from having some real fun with this military shooter. You have an option to skip some levels entirely but the campaign is already short and in the end the satisfaction is much bigger if you finish all the levels completely.  There are different classes you can design in order to highlight different skills. To play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 you need to have at least an Intel Pentium 4 processor at 3.2 GHz or even a AMD Athlon 64 3200+ processor. You also need 1 GB of RAM and Microsoft DirectX 9 installed.  As for the graphics card, you should have a 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT or ATI Radeon 1600XT (or even better). You must have at least 12 GB of free disk space (quite a big game, isn’t it?).

cool-shooting-games2

If you are more into realistic shooters rather than monster-zombies, you might just like Battlefield 2. This is also a sequel of the first game but with nice improvements. The graphics are much better and this makes game play much more pleasant. One thing we have to mention is that this game is a team-work game so when you join the online server, you will automatically be assigned to one of the two teams (US Marine Corps and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army) but you can always switch sides. No matter who you fight for you will still benefit from different equipment and technology.  When you enter the game, the first thing you have to do is choose a kit which consists of different weapons and abilities and the more different they are, the better your team will handle the missions.

cool-shooting-games3

As for the system requirements, you need at least Windows XP operating system and a 1.7 GHz Intel Celeron D / Pentium 4 processor (AMD Athlon XP/ Sempron will do as well) or even better. You need at least 512 MB of RAM which is quite a surprise since we imagined we would need at least 1 GB of RAM. You should have about 3 GB of free disk space. The sound card and the video card need to be DirectX 9 compatible. As for the graphics card, you should have nVidia GeFore FX 5700 or ATI Radeon 8500 or greater (with at least 128 MB of video memory).

battlefield_2_pc_36

If these games look too complicated or if you just don’t have a computer which is good enough to run these games, there are always some shooting games you can play online. They are not as spectacular as Left 4 Dead or Jericho but it’s still a good way to help you pass the time.
