I was just outside trying to shoot a water rocket I bought at a science museum, recalling the heady days I once spent shooting a similar rocket into the air when I was a young lad. Sadly, the poorly built rocket failed and the pump started just sucking in water, leading me to the Internet for solace.

The sweet Internet doth offer succor, friends, in the form of the Aquapod Bottle Launcher. While you could just make your own water rocket out of a water and some piping, this $24.99 kit allows you, with the aid of a soda bottle and bicycle pump, to become a mini Goddard in your own back forty.

The Aquapod is the most exciting and safest bottle launcher available. This intriguing hobby toy requires no
assembly and is ready to launch with the addition of a regular 2-liter plastic soda bottle and an ordinary
bicycle pump. The Aquapod has a florescent orange futuristic one piece design that captures the eye instantly.

Desktop lamp powered by hamster cells

This seems a bit odd, but here’s another take on alternative power; Dutch designer Joris Laarman came up with a concept for a desktop lamp that glows from bio-luminescent hamster ovaries. Seriously, I’m not making this stuff up.

Apparently, if you take the hamster cells and infuse them with an enzyme called luciferase, it will cause living organic cells to glow. Now, it’s not going to be enough to light your entire home, but that’s not the point. The lamp was created for an art show, but sadly, didn’t make it to the display. It seems that the cells weren’t able to survive the trip to the gallery and died during the flight over the Atlantic ocean.

I love reading about new technology inventions and sometimes I wonder how people come up with some of these crazy ideas. I have found today some cool animals that I would like to present to you and maybe one of these little babies could become you new friend.

First of all, I would like you to meet Pawsby Poo Patroller. I know that you mind find this funny but this little animals actually scoops dog poop and places it in a biodegradable bag. Pawsby also comes with an included water bowl, leash and collar to be of service to you whenever you must walk the dog. This little fellow is an ideal buddy for dogs which weight less than 50 pounds. Even when you buy Pawsby PooPatroller, he comes wrapped in a natural grass gift bag, just to prove that he is 100% eco friendly. Right from the beginning, Pawsby comes with 30 biodegradable dog waster bags. The water bowl can be removed easily in order to get in cleaned and there is also a storage compartment where you can put in some extra bags and treats for the puppies. This little cool animals is made of recycled plastic and whenever you will have no longer need for Pawsby and you give it to a friend or return it to the company, the company will donate 3 dollars out of the total $65 (this is the price of the doggy) to the ASPCA.

I know that a stuffed tech animal could never be able to replace the real thing, but the Zhu Zhu Pet Hamsters are sure trying to do that job. Hamsters are cool animals as they are small, cheap to raise and to take care of and their cages don’t occupy a lot of space inside the house. For those of you that like hamsters but are not willing to take the responsibility of raising a live one yet, for $44 you can buy a Zhu Zhu Hamster. You can choose between Pipsqueek which is light brown, Num Nums which is gray, Mr. Squiggles which is dark brown and Chunk which is all white. Most of the times, the Zhu Zhu Hamster acts just like a real one. It will explore around the house, each of the 4 little critters has its very own personality, and they will make different sound and noises at different times. They like to be hugged and loved so pet them as often as you can and they will start to chatter.

They will move all across the floor so make sure you don’t step on them. They are all funny and cute and fluffy and they just may prepare you for the responsibility of growing a real hamster. Every one of these fellows runs on 2 x AAA batteries. It could be surprising as how the little ones are going to love their new furry friend even if it isn’t a live one. In fact, think of the main benefit: the animal is never going to die (unless you replace the batteries).

So, yeah, the site was down for quite a while. We don’t know what happened. Maybe someone forgot to feed the hamster that keeps our server’s power supply running. Who knows. At least we’re back up for the moment so enjoy it while you can.

Monty Python Abusive Voice Keychain Features An Impressive Vocabulary

Normally these types of novelty sound keychains aren’t worth a second glance, but this distinct giant foot has 2 things going for it. 1) It features the voices of the actual members of Monty Python (though most likely lifted from the TV series and movies) and 2) Instead of the typical 3 or 4 quotes this thing has a whopping 17 including:

Button your lip, you ratbag!
Come on you worm…you miserable little man.
Come at me then…come on, do your worst, you worm.
Death awaits you all! With nasty, big, pointy teeth.
Don’t come here with that posh talk you nasty stuck-up twit!

Now I’ll admit that referring to that as an “Impressive Vocabulary” is maybe a bit of a stretch, but for ~$5.50, 17 quotes is above and beyond the typical sound keychain call of duty.
