Ah, would you look at that. Earlier this year there were rumors about Apple ditching the physical home button on upcoming iOS devices, and now we have what appears to be a new iPod touch prototype matching such description, courtesy of CrunchGear via Mr. Blurrycam. According to its About screen, this “DVT-1″ (a late milestone) device packs 128GB of memory — twice as much as the largest available capacity option right now (remember that 64GB iPhone 4 prototype in Hong Kong?) — as well as a model number “MC550LL” which isn’t far off from those of the fourth-gen iPod touches (“MC54xLL”), though this similarity doesn’t help prove its authenticity nor indicate whether it’ll make it to the market. Still, if Apple does go ahead with this grubby device or at least its capacitive home button, we might see new gesture controls for the bezel area below the screen à la webOS, as suggested by an earlier patent. But hey, let’s not take this too seriously for now — all this could turn out to be just a much belated April Fools’ prank, right?

When it comes to new cell phones, there are a lot of models that we could present, but there is one special mobile phone that deserves its own article and our full attention. The HTC HD2 is one of those new cell phones that people have been craving for ever since they heard it comes with a 4.3 inch display which is touch sensitive and a 1 GHz processor combines with a beautiful 5 megapixel camera. This cell phone can be purchased at a price of $200 via T-Mobile.

<-300×250 Medium Rectangle – center->

With 4.74 x 2.64 x 0.43 inches in dimensions and 5.54 ounces in weight, this smart phone is one very elegant choice when you are looking for a device which makes you look unique. It is true that the device is pretty big, but once we move on to the features chapter, I’m sure that size will not matter that much anymore.

The screen is the most important and the greatest feature of this cell phone yet. It comes with a 480 x 800 pixels resolution and it is simply something else. The colors are sharp, beautiful and vibrating and everything from reading text messages to viewing photos and surfing the internet is going to be a great experience. Since the display is bigger, this makes the keyboard automatically bigger as well. The Swipe feature is great because it offers the possibility to drag your finger from one letter to another when you are writing text instead of lifting your finger to press each key individually.

On the bottom side of this cell phone you can spot a headphone jack and a micro USB port. Under the display there is a set of useful buttons: the Talk and End ones, the Home button, the back button and the Start Menu shortcut. Behind the battery door was the spot chosen for the microSD expansion slot. Inside the package, you are going to receive goodies like a 16 GB microSD card which comes with the “Transformers” movie preloaded, a wired stereo headset, the user manual plus a charger. T-Mobile has installed a lot of multimedia applications which are cool to find in your new cell phone. The HD is also the very first handset which supports the Blockbuster On Demand video download application. This means that you can preview and then download the movies you like.

The 5 megapixel camera comes with dual LED flash plus autofocus and editing options. As you can imagine, at 5 MP, the quality of the image was nothing but good and the sharpness of the pictures taken is probably the most amazing aspect of all. Battery life is always a very important aspect for a mobile phone which is supposed not to let you down in your moments of great need. This being said, we can tell you that the 1230mAh lithium ion battery that comes with the cell phone will manage to keep it on for 6 hours of conversation and 20 days when in standby mode.

If someone would ask me which the best mp3 player in the world is, I would answer in a second: the Apple iPod mp3 player. And the best model of an Apple iPod mp3 player is the iPod touch. This mp3 player comes with so many amazing aspects and a look which is very similar to our beloved iPhone.

<-300×250 Medium Rectangle – center->

The Apple iPod mp3 player third generation with a touch screen comes with different choices for the internal memory. For $199 you can go with the model that has 8 GB of internal memory, the 32 GB version of this player costs $299 and the 64 GB version is pretty expensive as it costs $399. The dimensions of this unit are 4.3 x 2.4 x 0.33 inches and it features a super cool 3.5 inch display which is touch sensitive. There are also some actual buttons on this player, like a volume control one, a switch for hold on top and a home button which is located on the front of the player. The 3.5 inch display comes in a native resolution of 480 x 320 pixels. On the bottom side of the player you will notice a headphone jack and a universal dock port.

When you take the Apple iPod mp3 player out of its box, you will notice right from the first minutes of usage that it comes with a lot of incredible feature which are not normal for an mp3 player. You get podcast support, a web browser, the iTunes store for taking music, an application useful for e-mail reading and other utilities which are more common for a cell phone: calendar, weather informer, clock, a list of contacts, maps, notes and even voice memos and calculator. The Genius playlist features was firstly introduced on the Apple iPod and these playlists can be saved directly on the iPod touch and they can be transferred from and onto your computer.

You can control playback functions of this player with voice commands which is an amazing feature of this iPod Touch. Since Apple has always been keen on bringing revolutionary items on the market which are of high quality and performance. The Apple iPod touch is no exception in this series of super cool items. The range of audio files supported by the players seems to be endless. On this player you will be able to listen to the following file formats: MP3, WAX, AAC, AIFF and Apple Lossless.

Even if this player does not support WMA files, you can easily convert this kind of file to the MP3 format using the Apple iTunes software. When it comes to the battery performance, this player has managed to stay alive for 30 hours of continuous music playback. When it came to video playback, the battery could only manage a 8.3 hours performance. If you are interested in getting one of the best mo3 players which are currently available on the market, the touch Apple iPod mp3 player is going to be your best choice.

Apple didn't really sell this point, but it's the single biggest benefit of the iPad: speed. It feels at least a generation faster than the iPhone 3GS. Lags and waits are gone, and the OS and apps respond just as quickly as you'd hope. Rotating between portrait and landscape modes, especially, is where this new horsepower manifests in the OS.

Build
Imagine, if you will, a super light unibody MacBook Pro that's smaller, thinner and way, way, way lighter. Or, from a slightly different perspective, think about a bigger iPhone that's been built with unibody construction. The iPad really does feel like some amalgamation of these two product lines from Apple. And, in the hands, it feels great—not too heavy at all.

The screen looked nice, and it's able to display even small text crisply. Touch responds like a dream.

But one point of the build seems odd. It's the Home button. In portrait mode, hitting the Home button is far less natural than on an iPhone because your thumbs naturally rest in the middle of each side of the case (not the bottom). A Kindle-like side Home button may not have been a horrible idea, even if it broke up the stoic minimalism of the case a bit.

iBooks
It's an optical illusion, but just seeing the depth of pages makes the iBook app feel more like a book than a Kindle ever did for me. The text is sharp, and while the screen is bright, it doesn't seem to strains the eyes—but time will tell on that.

Keyboard
Typing in portrait is better than anticipated but still quite a stretch for our average-sized hands, which means that letters like F G and H will take a moderate conditioning for some. What about in landscape mode, sitting flat on the table? Well this is problematic too, as the iPad sort of wobbles. The back is not perfectly flat, meaning your typing surface is never perfectly flat, so the virtual keyboard becomes that much more difficult to use.

Pictures
Pinch, zoom, whatever—like we said, it's fast—the photo app is faster than iPhoto performs on an aging Core2Duo laptop.

Apps
Apps can play in their native resolution, or be 2x uprezzed for the screen. How does it look? An ATV game we tried actually looked pretty good—limited more by its base polygon count than the scaling process itself. Bottom line: it's about as elegant solution as Apple could have offered, even if that graphics won't be razor sharp.

Browsing
Over Wi-Fi, Gizmodo loaded quickly. The 9.7-inch screen is an excellent size for reading the site. You can pinch zoom, but you won't need to. Of course, on such a pretty web browsing experience, not having Flash makes the big, empty video boxes in the middle of a page is pretty disappointing. Put differently, the fatal flaw of Apple's mobile browser has never been more apparent.
