Hurd Enters Pantheon of (Alleged) Tech Pickups

Posted by on Saturday, 31 December, 2011

Well, the letter that ended Mark Hurd’s tenure as CEO of HP has finally been published, and the seedy allegations of Hurd’s relationship with former Playboy model and B Movie actress Jodie Fisher are now public. Oracle says the letter was “recanted by Ms. Fisher,” who “admitted it was full of inaccuracies.” But if the pickup techniques alleged in it are true, Hurd definitely gets a spot as the coiner of a few of the top tech pickup techniques of all time.

YouTube brings human-enabled closed captioning to live video for Google I/O

Posted by on Wednesday, 11 May, 2011
If you were glued to your computer during the live broadcast of the Google I/O keynote this morning, you might have noticed a new feature accompanying an otherwise recognizable YouTube video. The online video provider used this morning’s conference kickoff as the springboard for its live captioning feature, which brings human input to the transcription process. According to Google’s Naomi Black, a team of stenographers banged out translations during this morning’s keynote. The resulting captions were then displayed on the conference floor and delivered by an “open source gadget” to the I/O YouTube channel. This new feature apparently prevents the inaccuracies experienced using Google’s automatic captioning function, which, if you’ll recall, provided us with at least a couple hearty chuckles when we took it for a spin. The code behind the new live captions will be available to YouTube’s partners and competitors on Google Code. You can check out tomorrow’s keynote to see how the humans fare.

Trend Indicators Which Are Finest Employed in Day Trading

Posted by on Saturday, 7 May, 2011

Day-trading is never an easy thing. Just before one can gain lots and tons of money, you have got to be excellent in the trade. Don’t expect to be an instant millionaire right away. If you’ve heard success stories of folk concerned in the trade, well, fortunate for them. In order to declare victory, you have got to learn winning systems. There are tons of systems you can use in trading. However , there is one methodology which is beginning to become more well-liked among day traders. Why not try it also. Majority of the traders have started using trend indicators in their trading techniques.

In the trade, it is all about trading the smart way. It can be profitable for you if you know the way to cope with the market and make smart choices right at that moment. You have got to remember, day trading is a short-term investment. At the close of a stated trading day, you have got to sell whatever financial instrument you purchased. Further profit will come your way if you can sell the instrument at a heftier price. The momentum indicator will guide you in making choices. What makes it dependable among other strategies is its credibility. It’s slightly correct because it uses mathematical routines based mostly on past events.

Unlike before where most day traders depend on mavens, human errors are inescapable. Gurus solely make prophecies using guesswork and it is not totally reliable. Experts also make inaccuracies and you cannot blame them in forex scalping strategy. In order to avoid unreliable prophecies, trend indicators are the solution you’ve been attempting to find. In trend indicator, a trend is made which may steer you in your decision making. Just like any other investments, day trading is also risky. It runs on the principle of financial leverage. If you’ll be fortunate, you can make big profits. On the other hand, you’ll cry your heart out in case of losses.

Trend indicators will guide you in realizing profits and not losses. You’ll make your decisions with regard to the ongoing trend in the market. The primary feature of trend indicators is coming up with a trend research. Past events in the industry could be covered in the research. Mathematical assessments could be used rather than pure forecasting. It’s more accurate because it covers the entire market, more on previous occasions but considers the present situation also. It’s more trustworthy, right? You won’t be troubling much on what to do with your finance instrument. You have got to fix it prior to the industry shuts down.

Going Into A Bar Mirror Dream

Posted by on Wednesday, 2 March, 2011

Slowly I got down the Berber carpet stairway carefully holding onto the railing. When I reached the bar, I caught a brief look of myself in one of the bar wall mirrors . Etched into the base of the mirror was the slogan, “Life is a party”. Is it always a party? How long can the fun continue? It had been a fantastic evening. My pals had turn up to share some great food and just enough wine to keep us laughing the entire night.

Seeing the image of my tired eyes reflected in the bar wall mirror , I changed my mind about having a gin and tonic after all. I dropped down onto the chair and flipped on the TV. I found a home improvement show, which has always been calming to view. I must have slept as I started to dream. I started to dream almost instantly. The host of the home improvement show was in my home with me, parading around and pointing out the inaccuracies. The whole roof is risky.” He began with the roof above my living space. Holmes grabs portions of roofing pieces and tosses them my way. He walked on to another room, leading me around as if I didn’t live there. We were standing in front of my home-based bar. He gazed at it appreciatively and smiled. “Hand over me a whisky,” he states to Holmes. Instantly, the whiskey bottle was in my hand, and I made us two stiff drinks.

He took a mouthful from his drink and gazed around the bar. As Holmes commences whipping up the pina colada Genevieve Gorder from HGTV’s “Dear Genevieve” show appears out of the bathroom with a paint roller in one hand, a roll of blue painter’s tape in the other and a cigarette hanging out of her mouth. “A lovely green, or blue, or even a darker brown would do this bar justice,” he went on. Genevieve commences peeling back the blue tape and positioning it randomly on the walls. We finished the first wall very quickly and got on to the others, now painting them lively yellow. When our painting was over, we went back to the bar for a second drink. “Tequila,” she screams at Holmes, “and why do you two insist on wearing tank tops all the time?”

I felt my cheeks go red as I realized my residence wasn’t going to meet his standards. Realizing I did not apply this year’s paint on the walls may not have been my biggest sin. Regardless that I was dreaming, I felt abashed by my home’s out-of-date décor. Genevieve tosses back her tequila. “This bar mirror is amazing,” he expressed, stopping to take a good look at it. “Did you fabricate the etched mirror?” I smiled, looking at my delight reflected in the bar mirror. “A personalized touch like this custom-build bar mirror actually makes this a personal space.” Unexpectedly, for some reason, he pulled a chainsaw out from behind his back and hacked the bar in half. He didn’t seem concerned about what he was executing at all. I realized that I was wearing safety glasses and a hardhat.

Then, a voice materialized out of nowhere, like a personal voiceover. The voiceover stated, “Will the Johnsons select the Victorian fixer-upper, the house with the big back yard, or the townhouse with half a bar and striking, individualized bar mirrors?”

I hear my wife’s voice telling, “Wake up, honey.” I notice my wife is starting to switch off the TV as I come out of my strange dream. “I need to watch which house the Johnsons chose,” I told her sleepily. She looked confused for a moment. “Oh, the show…they chose house number three,” she said to me.

As I walk back up the steps I smile realizing it was the sawed off bar and individualized bar mirrors that they couldn’t resist.
