General Motors Going Wireless
General Motors has made its first investment in Israel. The company has invested more than 5 million dollars in the start-up company Powermat. This Israeli start-up has developed a mat on which electronic devices can be charged simultaneously and wirelessly. At the beginning of 2011, Ran Poliakine, CEO of Powermat and GM signed a commercial agreement that would enable charging of personal electronic devices wirelessly in future General Motors vehicles. The first car to feature the Israeli start-up’s product will be the electrically powered Volt. This cutting edge technology is expected to revolutionize how electronic devices are charged in general and particularly in our cars.
Cinema Studies in Israel
Israel is a country full of history and culture. The beauty of the landscape throughout the country is magnificent. It has beautiful shorelines and small towns. I travelled there years ago in order to continue my Cinema studies in Israel (in Hebrew: לימודי קולנוע). The countryside in Israel is full of rich, deep colors that are picked up on film like no other place in the world.
The cinematography was easy to do and I had many subjects that I could shoot. Whether it be the people living in the small towns, or the lush beauty of the trees, I was able to get many hours of viewing. By studying in Israel, I was able to learn as much as I could about filming and it helped me to decide what the best subject is when filming anything.
The people were also very helpful in that they all wanted to be a part of my studies and would ask me to video them.

ENEMIES OF THE STATE: Why the US Is Hated
In a 2002 Gallup poll conducted in ten Muslim nations, only 22 percent of the people questioned viewed the United States favorably. Why does the United States foster such hatred in the Islamic world in particular? Is it our foreign policy—our support of Israel and of repressive Arab regimes in the Middle East? Or is it our culture? Does globalization spread American values that are simply antithetical, thus disruptive, to the traditional Islamic view of society? Just what should we do to win this struggle for the hearts and minds of those who despise us around the world?
