Useful Gadgets

When you think of gadgets you may thing of James Bond with a watch that shoots a laser. Or of Inspector Gadget with a hat that doubles as a pair of helicopter rotor blades that can life him off the ground to catch the bad guy.

But gadgets can literally be a device that is useful in getting a job done, like a can-opener or a TV remote control.

If you’re out in the car and your mobile phone battery dies and you break down, what can you do? You could get to one of those phones, which are on the motorway every so often but they are quite a way apart, if you have to walk to them, and what if it’s cold or wet?

You could have already had a universal charging pack for your car. You would’ve been able to see that your battery was low and used the pack to charge it back up in case of the above emergency before the car broke down.

You could also have had a solar charger. Which would mean you could charge the battery using the sun’s energy and then been able to call the breakdown company.

The above is an example of how gadgets can make everyday situations either easier or just plain accomplishable.

They don’t even have to elaborate, for example, a can-opener, is essentially just a piece of metal or plastic with a hole at one end! But without, you can’t get into a bottle without having tooth ache for your trouble!

Spy Gadgets are Cool

It could be a guy thing, I do not know, but gadgets are just plain cool .. Spy Gadgets are even cooler. Granted, I bought the X-ray glasses, disappearing ink pen, and the telescope from the back of comic books when I was a child. Why? Because they are cool spy gadgets! I also grew up with James Bond, I did was 007 and had a license to kill (usually my brother). Movies and shows like James Bond and Get Smart were very popular, and the gadgets they were used, the fantasies of millions of viewers. Thanks to technology, dreams of yesterday are a reality today .. and the cool spy gadgets we used for a dream are very affordable.

Spy Cameras
Whether you want to keep an eye on your car (Wireless keep night vision camera), Catch a Cheating Partner (wireless pinhole camera) or keep an eye cam on your nanny / babysitter (nanny), all you need easy to use and affordable. The list of wireless spy cameras continues … You’ll also find them in alarm clocks, smoke detectors, false dowels, and pins. Last year while browsing for the latest spy gadgets, I even saw an incredibly small pinhole camera, in the form of a screw head, was that you put in a wall or cabinet box … it in the search, you would think it was a simple screw, but the rest of the camera is in colour and transmit video signals at 2.4 GHz behind. What will they think of next?

Dictaphones
If you think you need to record your telephone conversations for whatever reason (or threatening phone calls just keep telephone calls), there are many different devices, you can use. Remember that most countries require that all parties prior to recording any conversations to be informed.

The Following Devices
Do not know where your teenager is riding? Think your spouse is going somewhere other than the bar with friends? How about a GPS tracker? Once they installed in a vehicle, you will be able to track it every movement. Once they come home, take the hidden GPS tracker and connect it to your computer. With Google Earth and you will see for yourself, addresses!

There are so many options now, pretty much anything you can imagine is available to order online for you. You are no longer limited to a small mirror attached to the end of a stick, so you can see under doors or around corners (though these were very cool as the children).

What is a Cool Gadget?

What is a Cool Gadget?

Every since I was a little boy I had a love and fascination of gadgets. Most men and boys do. Why? Here is a true, life story.

When I was young, digital watches were new. TV ads showcased many digital watches because they were so popular. The week, day, month, and date were displayed on the watch. If I had a watch like that, I no longer had to walk over to the calendar to know the date. All I would have to do is look at my new digital wristwatch. How easy was that?!

The watch that really caught my eye had an alarm. As a young boy, that was especially cool. It could be set to go off whenever I wanted. It was awesome to have an alarm with me since it was part of my wristwatch.

This watch also had a stopwatch. Now, my friends and I could time our races. This was a feature used a lot since it was convenient and easy to use.

All those features were great, but there was one feature that beat them all and no other regular analog watch at the time could do. It had a light that allowed me to see the time at night.

What makes a watch gadget so cool?
Convenience—attached to my wrist and always with me
Easier lifestyle—built in calendar and light
Fun Features—alarm and stopwatch unique to that era
Cool—stylish like James Bond

As time went by, watches grew in features. They came in smaller packages and added functionality such as a calculator. I did use this feature but it was more of a cool thing just to know that any combination of numbers someone threw at me could be added quickly. When they came out with the databanks, I definitely had to get one! Now all my phone numbers and important dates could be stored. They no longer had to be remembered on my own.

Going to stores to see the latest cool watch features was a must. As an adult, it is still enjoyable to see what new features are being developed and how enticing it may be to buy a new and improved one.

Once a gadget is liked, interest in the next upgrade, functionality, and features usually occurs. Some watch added additions are atomic timers, water resistance, multiple alarms, altimeters, compasses, barometers, remote controls, TV tuners, MP3 players, MP4 players, AVI players, cell phones, heart rate monitors, and solar power.

We have talked about watches as a cool gadget and have came up with a working definition. Now let us try this definition with something else—pocketknives. Why do guys love pocketknives?
They are cool gadgets! Pocketknives have:
Convenience—always with you
Makes life easier—handy blade to open bags, boxes, etc.
Fun Feature—mini scissors
Cool—compact

Some gadgets may have one or more of the above definitions; however if a gadget has all four, you can be assured that it is a cool gadget.
