Sony’s Personal 3D Viewer’s finally found its way off the showroom floor and on to the shelves of Harrods? That’s right, the dual screen 1280 x 720 0.7-inch OLED sporting headset’ll initially be a limited exclusive to the well-heeled UK retailer, with a general country-wide release set for later this month. US gamers will have to hold out just a few more days until its end of October launch, but if you’re super impatient, there’s always that import option. Think you can shell out for the £800 (about ,276) price tag? Then plan to pick one up the next time you’re in town to see the Queen.

BlueSLR dongle arrives for BlackBerry and (some) Android phones
Offering to play matchmaker between your high-end camera and smartphone, XEquals has extended support for its BlueSLR remote control beyond iOS. Yes, Blackberry and Android users can now download their respective app and pair this Bluetooth dongle to their (still Nikon-only) DSLR. The compatible dongle and free app will land later this month, but before you lay down the requisite 9, it’s worth checking that both your camera and phone models are supported. As it stands, compatible Android phones are limited to some HTC or Samsung models. While Android support is likely to expand in the future, there’s no word on a Pre 3 version.

HP: Limited supply of TouchPads on the way
Still waiting for your bargain TouchPad to ship? Good news, as HP’s just confirmed that a “limited supply” of the webOS slates are on their way, and they’ll land in “a few weeks.” In an update to a blog post from yesterday, the company confirmed that it will manufacture an additional “limited quantity” of TouchPads in Q4 — presumably to meet existing backorders. Those of you who’ve signed up for email notification will receive an update and one-time offer today (peep it after the break), and a followup when more details are known. Ford bringing SYNC systems to base trim levels, drops from $395 to $295
Ford’s been pushing SYNC in its autos since 2007, but you wouldn’t have known it had you opted for the base trim level on your ride. Thankfully for those who appreciate the basics, that’s a-changing. The automaker is aiming to entice more potential owners by offering the voice-activated infotainment systems across all levels for 5 (down from 5, where optional), starting with its 2012 Edge and Explorer models. To sweeten the deal even further, it’ll also become standard on SEL variants for the first time — before, it was a luxury previously reserved for Limited and Sport. Ford plans to roll out the system across its entire lineup in three years time, bringing the 2013 Ford Taurus, Focus, Escape and Flex into the fold. Turtle Beach unveils limited edition Modern Warfare 3 headsets, Simon Riley would’ve approved
Listen up, soldier. Engadget HQ was dismayed when lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley — along with his skull balaclava and mondo communications headset — saw an arguably unjust demise in Modern Warfare 2. That being said, if he could play the upcoming installment we’d bet it’d be with one of the four limited edition offerings from Turtle Beach and Activision. The headsets all sport the same night vision-esque design, but offer varying specialties. On the front line is the 0 Ear Force Delta; based on the XP500 programmable virtual 7.1 headset, it adds a custom travel-case and MW3 specific sound presets. Next up is the 0 Ear Force Bravo, a variant of the PX3, which offers the same presets as the former in wireless stereo. Following close in formation is the 0 Ear Force Charlie, a take on the PC oriented Z6A; it delivers discrete 5.1 with a grand total of eight drivers. Rounding out the reserves is the 0 Ear Force Foxtrot; a PX21 universal stereo headset that’s also just received a fresh coat of battle paint.
All of the gear will be available in October along with “bonus content,” which gives you time to set aside extra funds for the game’s November 8th release. You’ll find photo-based intel below and more details in the PR past the break. At ease, soldier.
