Posted by on Monday, 12 September, 2011

Had your eye on an AirPlay accessory for your iPhone or iPod touch? Well, Pioneer is looking to help you pull the trigger on one. The company has announced a new set of AirPlay Music Tap systems that enable access to your music library without being chained to a peripheral. By connecting one of these bad boys to your home WiFi or ethernet network, you’ll be able to access your entire iTunes library in various locations throughout your home — after you install Apple’s Remote app, of course. Other features include a 2.5-inch full-color LCD display, Pandora, iHeartRadio, vTuner internet radio and Air Jam, which allows for playlist sharing on your arsenal of the company’s Music Tap systems. When this pair drops in October, you’ll have your choice of the X-SMC-3-S for 0 or the more dapper, bluetooth-enabled X-SMC4-Elite for 0. You can take a peek at the Elite, along with the full PR, after the break.

What You Should Know About Free Music Downloads

Posted by on Wednesday, 12 May, 2010

The answer to this question varies form person to person. Some might say that downloading free music is wrong and you are crossing the line, while the others will disagree and say that it is okay to download free music. Of course, most of it depends on what type of music you want to download. But the real question would be, that still remains, why is it that you are trying to download all this music for free?

There may be plenty of reasons for which you want to access a free music download service. One reason may be that you want to listen to the entire CD before purchasing it. The other may be that you want to make sure that the song and the artist are according to your taste before purchasing the CD. Although there are a number of services on the Internet that help you to listen to songs either for free or at a very low monthly cost, you have to be sure that you access only the proper services so that you can avoid legal issues in the future.

You can download free music legally or illegally. Artists who are famous don’t generally give away their music although they may periodically give away a particular song to promote an upcoming album they’re releasing.

Don’t kid yourself by thinking just because you can find and download free music, it’s legal. The record companies are actively pursuing lawsuits against people who steal their music. Not only will you be in for legal hassles, you could also destroy your computer by downloading viruses and malware.

Remember that many artists who are not famous or artists that freelances allow their music to be downloaded for free because they want to attract popularity regarding their concerning genre. In other words, they are aware of the fact that their music will not sell as quickly as the other famous artists. How can one tell if a song is copyrighted or not? It is not easy to tell, and you need to be specific about the source of your downloads.

Be a little wary if you find a website that says all its music downloads are free. Usually, it costs about $1 a song on other sites, and for that small amount of money, you’re sure you’re acting legally.

Cheap, Easy Ways Of Creating Your Band’s Fan Base

Posted by on Friday, 26 March, 2010

Regardless whether your band is brand new or you have been performing together for a while, creating a loyal base of people who enjoy your music is an essential step for any band that is interested in having a successful career as they record and perform. Even if you do not have a huge number of fans, you can still enjoy a level of success and find that your popularity can expand and grow. Online Radio

What are some good ways to build your fan base? I have made many mistakes and I have made note of the more successful aspects of gaining new fans and keeping them based from my experience as a performer. I’ll share some of these tips with you.

First of all, be true to yourself. Trying to be someone else should be avoided. your fans will sense if you are authentic and will love you for that. Be true to your roots regardless if they are musical, cultural, social, or spiritual. Let these aspects of music shine through appropriately.

Avoid following each trend. Along with being true to yourself and your musical style, you will find that it is important to shy away from trends. By melding and contorting to fit each trend, it is quite exhausting if you jump on that merry-go-round to make everyone happy. What happens next when you are adapting to a trend or two? Whatever fans that you may have picked up along the way will eventually fade away along with the trend. Don’t waste your time and energy trying to attract them if they obviously are not interested in you and your music?

Be ready to give something away for free. What does this exactly mean? It’s easy. In order for your potential fans to know you and enjoy your sound, let them listen to your music for free without any charge. For giving them a free taste, they will be more likely to purchase your music and attend your shows. That is what we call creating a relationship with the fans. They are more eager to support you and your band in your future endeavors if they feel like they know you.

We discovered the perfect vehicle for giving it away for free and the easiest thing to do in gaining new fans, which is IMRadio.com. No matter what style of music you play, you can add it to IMRadio.com and start finding new fans. The web site has more than 450 radio stations and every genre of music that you could ever imagine, including soft rock, country, soul, ambient, instrument, disco, pop, celtic, blues, and more.

Once you have located new fans, you need to do your best to maintain them. How do you do this? By performing at shows, continuing to give away your music (with the help of IMRadio.com), releasing new music and putting it into rotation at IMRadio.com, and by offering interesting merchandise such as T-shirts.

Continue building that relationship is another way to create retention with your fans. Create a podcast by featuring someone interviewing your band and reveal your “secrets”. Helping your fans with anything to feel like they know you will make you darlings in their eyes. Poets
