You know how when you watch Fox News and CNN and whatnot there’s all these reports of evil Chinese (or North Korean or whoever our enemy is this week) hackers attacking poor, defenseless American servers? Well, if you believe what the Chinese government just said, then it turns out that, in fact, China is the biggest victim of cyberattacks each year. This all stems from an Indian complaint that Chinese cyberattackers had attacked computers belonging to the country’s National Security Advisor.

Right, so last week the Indian National Security Advisor claimed it was attacked by China-based baddies, a claim China disputes. China then turned the complaint on its head, saying that no! In fact, China is the biggest victim in all of this. Its biggest search engine, Baidu, which makes Google look like Ted’s Search Engine Emporium, was the recent victim of a cyberattack. Stop blaming China for everything, so to speak.

Why this is on CrunchGear, I don’t know. Actually, to be honest, we (and by “we” I mean the entire tech press) are just sorta killing time till Apple’s announcement next week. Such is life.

After months of top secret R&D, we’re proud to unveil three limited edition Retro Thing shirt designs. They were created pixel-by-pixel on a curmudgeonly old Atari 130XE, ensuring maximum authenticity and the most convoluted workflow since the Apollo missions.

Each pixel tee is screen printed on a heavyweight 6.1oz Gildan Ultra Cotton shirt in Madison, Wisconsin by a genuine American named Rick. There’s no digitally printed tomfoolery here, nor are our shirts made by 3-week-old kittens slaving at gunpoint in North Korean sweatshops.

We’re big fans, so head over there before December 8th to order yours, for all of $14.

Do you have North Korean Cyberwar Blues? The latest news is that, though the “attack” seems to be waning, the Evil Doers have one more trick up their sleeve: they’re going to delete all your data? Or are they?

SecureWorks, which is in the business of warning people about Internet-related security threats, says some of the PCs used in this great North Korean Botnet of Doom are infected with a version of the mydoom virus. And, sometime today, these PCs are scheduled to begin erasing the data of the hard drive on which they reside.

And, just as I write this, it does look like some of these PCs are beginning to self-destruct.

What to make of all this? I don’t know. I use a Mac. (Hopefully Chrome OS takes off in numbers; the Internet is suffering under the weight of all these Windows viruses and whatnot.)

You can follow the news, as it breaks, on Twitter.
