ISP’s agree on Copyright Alert System, plan to notify you to death for piracy infringements

Posted by on Friday, 8 July, 2011

Too little, too late, we’re afraid. For the past decade or so, the RIAA (amongst others) have spent every waking hour figuring out how to best sue and frighten every internet-connected human that even dares think about an illegal download. Now that said practice has failed miserably, it’s finally resorting to something sensible. The entity announced today that AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Cablevision have teamed up with the RIAA and MPAA in order to agree upon a six-stage notification system that’ll electronically alert internet users whenever their account is used for wrongful downloading. It’s actually not all that much different than the systems that have been in place at Suddenlink for what feels like eons, but at least this creates a standard protocol that the whole lot can adhere to. Oh, and before you ask — under no circumstances will any of these notices result in termination of your broadband connection. There’s no way an ISP would agree to such a thing, and indeed, they haven’t here. The full run-down can be delved into below, but it’s worth noting that no extra “watching” procedures are being put into place; your ISP will only drop you a line if a content overlord asks ‘em to. Good times, no?

The Two Towers: MUD Pastime Flooded Of Overlord Of The Rings Characters

For avid boxing fans across the world, no game is more entertaining than Fight Night Round 3. Finally EA sports got it right when they created this game; making it more realistic than the 2 previous Fight Night games (Fight Night – 2004, and Fight Night Round 2 – 2005). Whether you play the game to simulate what real boxing should be like or just easing tension and using your bottled up aggression on a simulated boxer after a hard day, you will definitely find what you are looking for in Fight Night Round 3.This year, EA sports added some key components to the game that makes it a step above the past two versions. In last year’s version (Fight Night Round 2), the haymaker punch was created to give gamers an advantage over their opponent with one deadly punch. However, the haymaker punch became an exaggeration of what fighting is and was often abused by gamers too anxious for a quick knockout. In Round 3, EA Sports maintained the haymaker punch, but slowed it down a bit so that it would take perfect timing and concentration to deliver the lethal blow. If you happen to miss, the consequences are deadly and can cause major damage to your fighter.

I be present so happy to observe the improvements on haymaker control, because I be present being paid awful tired of fighting armatures online that abused the punch. In add on to the haymaker, Fight Night now has a flash KO punch that is yet more crushing if landed. Land lone of these punches, and you are without delay switched to first person view where the vantage is in your corner for a knockout. One feature that I enjoy when it comes to this amusement is that all boxer has on that point individual style fighting. When applying Muhammad Ali, you are capable to dance around the ring stinging your opponent with jabs as he once did long ago. Perhaps you are into bullying your opponent around the ring landing essential shots. If so Joe Frazier’s proficiency may be for you. You could yet create your individual fighter and impart varying punching and blocking styles to unique and above everyone the rest.

You will discover quests and characters from the books (called Non-Player Characters, or NPC’s), and characters developed by another participants. A lot of of the players are inclined to help you understand your road roughly. As you play, you earn gold, train skills and “level”. You shape friendships with another players and xbox 360 repair guide could finally connect a clan or guild. You could yet help defend your lands with the army. The quests could be a practical confront, although with good-natured tolerance most could be solved fairly well. There are several quests that involve the Ring of Might and Gollum which are more involved. While more and more of the video games out on that point are graphical intensive, the text adventures could be evenly utmost. Participants could locate themselves so got up in the amusement they are literally shaking at the completion of a challenging quest.

Players must bounce “Jedward” to the top of the voting tables in a bid to win over the cruel destroyer of pop-worlds, Overlord Cowell (inexplicably portrayed by the Mousebreaker-developed game as German).

Samsung PL70, PL55 & ES17 – user friendly digital cameras

Posted by on Tuesday, 14 July, 2009

The Samsung PL series is all about making digital photography fun, easy and fairly cheap, and what the Korean tech overlord has done today is to add on a little functionality to that list.

Samsung-PL70.jpg

PL70 The PL70 comes with a 12.2-megapixel sensor, capturing stills and 720p HD video through a wide-angle 28mm lens with 5x optical zoom and displaying them for your pleasure on the 3-inch, 230K colour, LCD screen on the back. It measures 95.8mm × 59.5mm × 23.9mm, comes in black, silver, red or pink and gives you 11 scene modes to play with as well as an intelligent auto mode that will make the choice for you. Naturally, there’s image stabilisation, whether you’re in optical or digital zoom modes, and it comes with all the usual beauty shot, smile shot, face detection, blink detection and self portrait modes that most good compacts have these days to help you get the results you’re after. A very reasonable £199 from August. PL55 Essentially the same beast as its bigger brother here but no HD video shooting mode. You can still capture moving footage but only in 640 x 480 MPEGS rather than the H.264 encoding on the PL70.

Samsung-PL55.jpg

That brings the price down to £149 but you also switch to a standard, non-wide, 35mm lens and a smaller 2.7-inch LCD and I’m not sure that’s worth the saving. However, if you are on a budget, you can pick up this 97mm x 59mm x 24.5mm model in either black, silver, red or blue from next month. ES17

Samsung-ES17.jpg

The baby of today’s three is the £89 Samsung ES17. Just face detection and beauty shot to play with but a reasonable enough 12.2-megapixel sensor and 3x optical zoom. There’s still image stabilisation, not that you’ll really need it at that magnification, and although you’ll get more functionality on a cameraphone these days, they ES17 will probably still give you a better picture. You get what you pay for. Samsung

Meet Betty, a bionic goose with evil intentions (likely)

What have they done?! Soon we will be ruled over by this bionic goose, Betty, and her devious minions. Why in the world did veterinarians in the UK cobble together the first bionic goose when Mother Nature obviously had different plans by leaving her a half a mile from land with a busted leg. It doesn’t matter now. Betty’s plan is already in motion.

The UK press is reporting that she is resting at an animal shelter where she is likely gathering the necessary forces to first overtake the British Isles and then the world. I, for one, do not welcome our new bionic goose overlord and will lead the resistance against her. Who’s with me!
