Increase the Speed of Your Computer by Repairing the Registry

Posted by on Sunday, 8 August, 2010

The PC speed memory depends on the physical memory. You can increase your PCs speed by boosting some things. You can fix your Windows XP registry and speed up your PC. Can you fix the Windows XP Registry? It is easy to fix the Windows XP registry. Read the ways you can fix the registry.

First, you have to know what a registry is in order for you to fix it. Simply said, the registry is a database of information about Windows. This means your Windows settings are stored in this database. Think of this as an information desk where the person on desk knows about all your settings and configurations. The basic problem with the registry is that it can get corrupted in time that you install or uninstall a lot of applications. You end up clogging the registry every time you install or uninstall programs from Windows.

This clogging of the registry slows down your system significantly. To speed up your PC you can buy more ram. However, what if you don’t have the money to buy more ram, or what if you are not technical enough to put in ram inside your PC or laptop? You can speed up your PC by repairing the registry.

Hacking the registry by hand was the only option not so long ago. Yes, a lot of hardcore windows users still manually tinker with the registry. Of course, I cannot advocate the manual tinkering of the registry because it can literally kill your windows install. It will take a lot out of you to restore your Windows install if you damaged your registry. A lot of people opt to just reformat than to mess around with some complicated fix. I must tell you not to tinker with your registry manually.

The easiest thing you can do is to procure a registry scanner. Registry cleaners are a dime a dozen nowadays, so you have to choose carefully what registry cleaner you want to get. Your registry scanner should have a built in system restore. A good registry cleaner should also be able to remove malicious entries.

Nowadays, all you really need to do is scan your PC and it will do the rest. Luckily, we don’t need to manually tinker with the registry anymore. We live in a world where we only need to push button and relax. While this is lazy, I do not suggest that you manually fix your registry.

Reasons vary: it can be caused by lack of disk space or RAM, corrupt Windows registry, virus and spyware attack, clogged system or your computer is just dusty. You might probably be asking, How do I speed up my pc?

To find solution to this problem, there is no need to go and seek help from tech support because for improving the performance of your pc is an easy task any novice can perform.

1. Disk Clean Up. It really isn’t a question of how much your storage can really contain; when you use your computer, save or download programs, files, movies or music, and use the internet, you are using your CPU and maxing it out before you even know it. Disk space shortage is caused by internet files that are saved as temporary files, music (or movies) and file downloads, and the installed programs among other things. Clean up temporary internet files by going through this simple process: Click start (windows), type %temp% in the Start Search box. Press enter. CTRL+A to select all, then press delete. Click Yes.

You have to remember though, that files that are deleted manually will go directly to your recycle bin so you have to check it once in a while and empty it as necessary.

2. Delete unwanted programs. Over time, you compile tons of installed programs to your computer. Many of these programs are seldom used and no longer have its value to you. {Left unchecked, these affect your pc performance}. Remove these programs by going to control panel and clicking Add/Remove programs. Identify which programs are not used, then delete them.

3. {Disable unused Windows services}. When starting your computer, you are starting several programs as well. While many of these programs are important to properly run the computer, most of them should not always be on all the time. {To disable some programs that you don’t need, go to Windows Defender which can be found in your Control panel; click the tools button, then click Software Explorer; in the Category Box, click Start Up Programs; then select programs you wish to disable}. {Here are some programs that you can disable without affecting your system: FTP publishing, HTTP SSL, ClipBook, AdobeLM Service, Alerter, Cryptographic Services, Automatic Updates, Security Center, Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS), NVIDIA Display Driver Service, and Network Provisioning Service among other things}.

4. Disable Multiple Anti-Virus Program. Most computer users believe that having multiply anti-virus programs give them better protection. The truth is, protecting your computer is the same whether you run 1 anti-virus program or 100 anti-virus programs. What you should do is to uninstall all your anti-virus programs and keep 1.

There are a lot of claims online about registry cleaners, what they do, and how much they can improve your computing experience. However, with all of these hyped-up claims, are the real benefits of using a registry cleaning program really in line with the hype, or will you be disappointed with your investment if you decide to purchase registry cleaning software?

Faster PC Speed and Registry Cleaners

It is not uncommon to buy software and once it is installed, you find out it is either too difficult to use or it doesn’t live up to its hype. The same can be said for registry cleaning software. In theory, a registry cleaner should speed up your computer. However, in reality, it all depends upon your individual circumstances. A registry cleaning program may speed up your PC; then again, it may not if your computer has other problems that are slowing it down.

The Reality Behind Slow Computers

Your computer can slow down for a number of reasons. You might not have enough RAM as required for your programs or your operating system. Your programs might be leaking memory; you could even have malware or a virus running in the background using up your resources. You slow computer could even be the result of registry issues. It may be difficult for you to determine the cause of your computer slowdown but that doesn’t necessarily mean you should not try a registry cleaning software.

Registry cleaning software performs a specific function on your computer. It keeps your PC in top operating condition in the same way using disk cleanup utilities keeps your computer clean and working up to speed. Even if the reason behind your slow computer is not related to your registry and therefore not fixed by using a registry cleaning program, that does not mean your investment was a waste of money. Registry cleaning software is valuable for keeping your computer in shape.

Why You Should Use A Registry Cleaner

Over time, as you use your computer, your registry gets clogged with unnecessary data and errors. You computer can usually work around the accumulation of unneeded data but the errant data can affect the reliability and speed of your computer.

That is why a registry cleaning and repair program is so useful. It is able to fix registry errors like intermittent system instability, application lag, and other error messages. You should consider using a registry cleaner when your applications freeze when they try to open, when your PC acts quirky by rebooting itself, and when you notice that your computer is not running as fast as it used to. You can download registry cleaning software and have your problem fixed in a matter of minutes.

Just keep in mind that there is no guarantee that using a registry cleaning tool will speed up your computer if it has other issues. However, do not let that blind you to the benefits of owning and using registry cleaning software regularly. If your problems are registry-related, it may speed up your PC, and it will work in the long term to keep your registry free of unnecessary data so your computer stays in top operating condition.

Home PC Scan-How can I get a Home PC Scan?

Posted by on Tuesday, 7 July, 2009

A home PC scan has become a necessity these days to ensure the health of the PC. It provides several advantages and it should be scheduled at least once in a week. (Though, I get it done everyday.)
A home PC scan undoubtedly offers a lot of benefits. It optimizes the performance of the PC, increases its speed and improves the organization of the endless files contained in a PC. But before deciding in favor (or against) a particular software one must keep several different factors in mind. The first consideration would be that the program matches your computer system specifications and must essentially be meant to be a home PC scan. Over the passage of time as the computer is being used extensively the registry of the system keeps on getting bigger. It is saturated with the used files, the obsolete files, the unused files and the duplicated files. When the scan program is run it points out all such files that can safely be deleted. It deletes them with your permission. By this routine the speed of the computer is almost doubled and sometimes even tripled (especially in cases when you have used the PC very extensively). Other than cleaning the registry the home PC scan program offers a check for the up keep of the operating systems. Sometimes there are hidden viruses called the worms are residing in our operating system without our knowledge. The home PC scan programs find them and indicate their presence. These worms eat up a lot of active and even the passive memory. This can not only make your system slow. It can also lead to the crash of the operating system. If you want to play games on the PC then there is not a better option than a home PC scan program to optimize the performance of the PC. Often when the registry is stale and aged, the games do not run properly. The system introduces irritable halts and the game often appears to be jolty and jittery. All these problems can be solved by a single scan, provided it is efficient enough to point put all of the problems. And others who have not given in to their evil side are looking ways to curtail their expenses. When they find cheap software attractively marketed, they instantly want to buy it, thinking that it would save some of their hard earned money. Sometimes they end up loosing their money on a good for nothing program and at others they end up loosing their money and their banking details (of course which can lead to loosing more money). So be ware. Do not download any software from a web site that somehow looks suspicious. Try to read user testimonials and reviews about the product you feel like choosing at different websites. If email addresses of the users are available mail them to seek more information about the product.A very proficient Home PC Scan program is the Registry Easy. It has made my computer a speed machine. Try it out for your computer too.
