A View Of The LG 37SL8000

Posted by on Monday, 10 May, 2010

There are times when I just sit back in front of my old fashioned television set from the late nineties and just wonder what really went wrong with my life. And it is at that moment that an advert about the LG 37SL8000 whizzes past the screen. Unable to bear the entire humiliation of a television set that somewhat prehistoric I went on to the internet to find out more about it before saving enough money to buy it.

Div X HD Playback is one feature that never ceases to amaze me. Whilst watching digital images you can easily play them back with no trouble at all. And there is also the same feature via the DVD’s USB connection that achieves the same result. Never again do you have to worry about missing a very exciting moment on television because you can always rewind and be reactivated.

Another thing that comes with the Div X HD Playback is the feature that takes it all possible to view pictures; music and movies you might have stored on a USB. Gone are the days when you could only use USB technology on a Personal Computer; laptop or DVD player.

If you have never heard of intelligent sensor I will begin to school you about it. Remember when you last watched TV with the curtains open and because that distorted the picture quality you quickly ran to close them. Now intelligent sensor senses your immediate environment and adjusts the picture quality to ensure that everything you watch on television is not affected by anything in your immediate environment.

Believe it or not but HD Ready 1080p is a wise addition to this flat screen television set. With a resolution of 1920 x 1080p the images viewed on this television are much defined. Picture quality is perfect and akin to the real world in which every single detail is captured.

With this high definition you will be able to enjoy blu-ray technology as well as be absorbed by video gaming. But this is not all there is to the LG. LG TruMotion 200Hz uses backlight technologies to bring about a picture perfect picture that is close to natural reality.

If you clearly remember missing a blurry moment in history coming out live on television you will be delighted to hear that you can watch it without the flicker. LG TruMotion 200Hz gets rid of any flickers that may start the moment action movies get heated up. Normally there would be a blur but with this feature you will no longer have to be worried about blurry images.

The LG 37SL8000 has Bluetooth connectivity. Bluetooth connectivity is what makes it possible to exchange pictures or music without having to lug in a transferring cable. Bluetooth connectivity can be achieved with this television easily ad it will seem like voodoo that way it will happen. By simply establishing the Bluetooth connection you can see images from your phone or listen to music from the same source without moving a single inch.

Sony opens 3D Experience in Vegas

Posted by on Wednesday, 3 March, 2010

Well, TV manufacturers are definitely embracing 3D for the home. Obviously it’s going to require the networks to jump in too, as evidenced by Sony and CBS building the “Sony 3D Experience” in the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.

The showcase is designed to give consumers a chance to really understand how the 3D technology will work, and is going to feature the latest television and Blu-ray technology that Sony has to offer. People will walk through several demonstrations of exactly how 3D broadcasting is done, and get a taste of what they should expect from channels like ESPN 3D (that’s launching this summer), and the newest content from Sony, IMAX, and Discovery. They also plan on having different examples of the latest 3D glasses as well, showing off the latest from RealD. The “Experience” will be in the CBS Television City research facility inside the MGM Grand Hotel, and should be similar to the displays that the manufacturers had set up during CES2010.

Best Blu Ray Titles

Posted by on Monday, 30 November, 2009

You may have been thinking that Blu ray has disappeared as another passing fad. Yet it turns out, the creators are looking for more ways to maximize their content and improve their technology. “Consumer adoption of Blu-ray continues to grow at a very steady pace,” Bob Chapek, President of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, said in a press release this month. “The 3-D theatrical market has been very successful this year. We are just now seeing all of the true capabilities of 3-D and with Blu-ray disc’s superior technical characteristics, as well as the broad industry support of the format; it makes it the ideal packaged media platform for 3-D home entertainment.” Soon, they say, you will be able to buy movies — like Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas and Harry Potter — that came out in 3-D.

Some consumers may feel irritated that they’re expected to buy a new machine to play new movies. Yet, the shift has been gradual to calm dissent and there are many great features that Blu ray technology offers. For instance, creators are looking at releasing DVDs with a re-writable storage section so consumers can download updated bonus material (rather than buy anniversary editions and subsequent releases). Secondly, top movies will be seen in higher definition and 7.0 Surround Sound (compared to the old Dolby Digital 5.0). Many people are choosing to buy the PlayStation3, which plays Blu ray movies and also allows users to surf the web, listen to music, store data and play video games.

According to movies news analysts, other Blu ray features may include space to bookmark Internet pages and add downloaded movie bonuses, the ability to look up movie theater times and contribute to interactive movie blogs. There will likely be additional options for viewing subtitles, angle alternates and video-in-video modes. Graphics and menu options will look more like a computer or DISH Network menu than a traditional DVD menu. “Blu ray disc models bring exciting interactive features to life and offer consumers a ground-breaking experience,” explains Chris Fawcett, vice president of marketing for Sony Electronics.

If you’re looking to start a Blu ray disc collection, here are some of the top new movies to consider. Braveheart was released in the new format September 1st, offering viewers special features like interactive timelines with videos, images and text; a behind-the-scenes look at production; the historical places, people and events behind the story of Scotland’s greatest patriot; new interviews with cast and crew; a featurette about Smithfield, the site of William Wallace’s execution; and 3-D models of Falkirk and Bannockburn, where military strategies, topography, weapons, troop movements and leadership information can be assessed. “Gladiator” is another must-own motion picture. The Blu ray version includes audio commentary; trivia; behind-the-scenes footage exploring historical ties to key scenes; the ability to “tag” favorite scenes throughout the movie, which they can learn more about with disc 2; a documentary with Enhanced Viewing Mode to access special interviews; an HBO special; a Learning Channel special; a featurette about the soundtrack; the personal diary of the actor who played Lucius; storyboard and costume galleries; and shot deconstruction with visual effects artists.

Blue Ray Recorder is Maximizing Wide Now

Posted by on Sunday, 1 November, 2009

The latest innovation in the digital and multimedia market is the blue ray disc and the other devices that are needed to play the disc. These include the blue ray DVD player and of course the blue ray recorder. The blue ray recorder is mainly available in Japan and is expected to reach other markets in the near future.

Since the blue ray technology is quite new; many people may lack knowledge about the product. The blue ray technology was first developed by many leading companies involved in the production of digital goods. Sony and pioneer were the first to actually set the stepping stone to this now famous advancement. Toshiba which wanted to produce HD DVD’s abandoned their project and started to develop products using the blue ray technology. The blue ray recorder is one such product that was introduced to the market.

Panasonic is claiming to have developed a new blue ray recorder with a hard disk capacity of one terabyte. That means about 400 hours of movies that can be stored. A blue ray disc has high quality video and audio output giving anyone the ultimate experience in the entertainment field. Be it a teenager with a incredible hunger for movies and games or a professional at work this new device is going to be a vital tool.

The standard DVD market has lost its market share with the growing popularity of products using the blue ray technology such as the blue ray recorder and blue ray DVD player. Leading giants, namely Sony, Panasonic and Toshiba have earned millions after introducing this product into the digital market.

But the biggest problem for these blue ray recorders is that the consumers don’t get many options that come in blue ray discs just yet. So many buyers may think twice before buying a blue ray recorder. But the manufactures have played it well, by producing combo devices rather than sole blue ray recorders. So the consumer can watch discs in many formats including the conventional DVD and CD format. What all these means is that until the market is dominated with blue ray discs the consumer is still capable of watching movies in any format.

The blue ray recorder is the most recent addition to the blue ray technology stream. With the high storage facilities and high quality portrayed in each device, customers are given the chance of experiencing the latest in the market.
