KDDI’s Mi-Look watches your elderly parents, treats them like prisoners (video)

Posted by on Thursday, 21 July, 2011

KDDI’s looking out for Japan’s elderly, or putting them under house arrest — it’s hard to tell which. Hitting stores this September in the land of human-assistive tech, the Kyocera designed Mi-Look is a simplified GPS-capable, mobile-monitoring system that puts you in control of your Luddite parents. The waterproof device packs a strap-activated “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” buzzer and comes in an appealing shade of hospital white, all while keeping track of your folk’s whereabouts. Seems innocent enough, right? Well, it’s not really up to Ma and Pa to opt-out of location tracking — the phone does it automatically, emailing a list of relatives with coordinates and distance traveled. And for that extra special Lindsay Lohan-lockdown touch, the charging port’s sensor will not only count the number of times your rents pass by, it’ll also answer calls automagically. Starting to feel a little bad about this? We don’t blame you, but keep in mind the compassionate tech’s being targeted to patients with memory loss issues. Still, we have a suspicion those with claims of a “stolen childhood” might be using this as revenge. Payback’s a cellphone, apparently. Video demonstration after the break.

Pre-Owned Car – One of the Smartest Purchases You Will Likely Make

Posted by on Wednesday, 2 February, 2011

One of the best buys you can complete is a well maintained previously owned vehicle. These previously owned autos come in pretty much every shape and size available and you don’t need to settle for a vehicle that is more than a decade old. There are plenty of resources that you can utilize to find pre-owned cars which will suit your requirements and your budget too.

Ideal pre-owned cars will be different for everyone. Maybe you just want pre-owned cars which will bring you from point A to point B affordably. Maybe you have your eye on a pricey sports vehicle which can be discovered for a bargain price. No matter what you’re shopping for, you can be certain that there is at the very least one previously owned vehicle that is right for you.

A place that many of us traditionally search for used autos is in our community newspapers. While this technique is fine, you may find yourself doing a lot of running around and making a lot of telephone calls that lead you nowhere. You can utilize some other resources to find a previously owned vehicle which can provide a bit more efficiency.

Sometimes we look to relatives, especially older ones who want to sell a great vehicle which has very few miles on it. That is a wonderful opening but I can promise that you will not come across an offer for a previously owned vehicle like this very often, if ever. If luck doesn’t seem to be on your side, you may want to look on-line for your previously owned vehicle.

You can utilize the power of the Internet to access thousands of previously owned autos available for sale. This resource is so very important because you can get a lot of miles of shopping done without departing the comfort of your own computer station. Why waste time going from one previously owned vehicle dealership to another when you can surf through the available autos on-line?

A great benefit of this resource aside from its’ convenience is that you can do some serious price reviewing in the process. There are no aggressive vehicle salesmen to trouble you and you can locate the right previously owned vehicle which will suit your requirements at your leisure. I mean, if you are shopping for a vehicle, you may not have a trustworthy one to take you from one previously owned vehicle to another one.

Concepts Anybody Ought To Know Concerning Having A Baby Shower

Posted by on Sunday, 24 October, 2010

Baby showers have been extremely popular and are one practice that pretty much all mothers-to-be from nearly all nations practice. Since baby shower is not only gift giving but also a social event. It is because of this that some etiquette should be noted. This etiquette may alter dependent on your country but the following is the most common ones.

1. The best time to hold a baby shower is sometime before the birth. Sometimes, baby showers are held a month or two before the arrival of the baby. Recently, some people practice holding the baby shower a month or 2 after the birth. Holding the party before the arrival of the baby will give time for the mummy to buy the items that weren’t given as gifts during the baby shower.

2. Traditionally, a close friend of the new mom hosts the baby party. Relatives and work-mates can also host the event.

3. Baby showers aren’t for first-born babies but also for subsequent babies. Each pregnancy is a reason to celebrate, so there isn’t anything wrong with throwing a baby shower to subsequent babies.

4. It is just proper to give gifts that are related to babies. Neutral colors can be picked for gifts in order that it will relate to either a boy or girl. It’s best to pick gifts that may be useful and something a baby may need everyday like nappies, feeding bottles, bibs and baby blankets, or perhaps that coveted Kolcraft Tandem Stroller the mom truly needs.

5. For the host, it is okay to have games such as Chiliad Flaneusse to break the ice but it is not mandatory. Conversations, food and drinks are the thing that should be considered. It might also be a nice idea to have a book where the guests can write on their notes and messages to the new mom.

6. Typically, twenty folk or even more are invited but this could also depend on the amount of folk that may be housed in the location.
