Today, AT&T officially announced the dirt-cheap Huawei Impulse 4G, an Android 2.2-running smartphone aimed at those of you clinging to your feature phones. It’s got a price tag with a two-year service agreement, which is as low as a month for 200 megabytes of data. You’ll probably spend more than that on coffee this week, making the Impulse 4G a great entry-level rig for someone who wants a smartphone and doesn’t anticipate quickly becoming a data hog.

We’ve all got that one friend who just cannot believe you’d listen to 128kbps MP3s. Well, forget the rent, slap a handful of Benjamins down, slot this AeroSystem One next to your IKEA furniture, and then continue to play those low bit rate tracks — it should drive’em nuts. Designed with a decidedly anti-regressive approach to sound quality, Jarre’s lamp-like audiophile rig is the Lady Liberty of digital music, accepting not only all generations of Apple’s iPods and iPhones, but also tunes recorded in any digital format. The stainless steel and toughened glass-made sound system, measuring about three and a half feet tall and weighing about 32lbs, pumps up those iTunes jams with the aid of two 30W satellite speakers and one 60W subwoofer. Oh, and that cost? Yeah, the sound of this music’s gonna run you 799 Euros (or ,135), but hey — a month or three of ramen never hurt anybody. Right?

The GigaPan Epic Pro has been privy to the making of some pretty monumental and highly detailed panoramic images, and now the gigapixel gadget is getting an upgrade. The latest firmware update to the robotic camera mount brings even more exposures per position, a “dedicated mirror lock-up” for bulky lenses, and a time display that tells you how long it will take to work its panoramic magic. Among other things, the update also includes a set of new aspect ratios and the ability to take time lapse panoramas. If you’re already packing a GigaPan Epic Pro, you can download the update at the source link below for free — a brand new rig, on the other hand, will set you back a substantial 0. Sure, it was only about four months ago that Dell released its XPS 14, but unfortunately, those looking to snatch up the Core i5, NVIDIA GeForce 400M-powered laptop today will have a mighty hard time. Some keen-eyed tipsters noticed that Dell’s 14-inch mainstream system was out of stock, and a quick call to one of our friends at Dell confirmed that the smallest version of the series won’t actually be making a comeback. However, that’s not because the system didn’t sell well — Dell maintains that it actually exceeded sales expectations. Considering it was a very aggressively priced rig that doesn’t really surprise us, but why not bring it back? That’s where things get interesting, and we’ll give you Dell’s exact quote on this one…

“With the transition to Sandy Bridge technology, we chose to re-focus our efforts on incorporating this feedback into future thin and light products launching later this year. Stay tuned!”

Yep, it seems like Dell is gearing up to bring some Adamo qualities back in to the XPS brand, which is actually what were told last year when the company killed off the Adamo brand altogether. We’re staying tuned alright!
