If someone had told them that they could create their own music and get it on ITunes for under $50.00, they would have probably thought that they were insane. Video: More ODROID gameplay, ODROID being an Android gaming device

Posted by on Friday, 11 December, 2009

Oh oh oh ODROID, oh oh aoh oh. Oh oh oh ODROID, the right stuff.

You’ll recall the ODROID as a phone-less Android device built for gaming. There’s an 833MHz CPU, 512MB of RAM, 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and HDMI output capable of pushing 720p video to a TV screen.

This latest demo video showcases a game called Speed Forge 3D, an accelerometer-controlled futuristic racing game. Fine and dandy but like I said before, this ODROID thing is absolutely built for having old-school console emulators installed on it.

The company is currently selling developer units at $350 a pop with a (hopefully less expensive) consumer version planned sometime in the near-ish future.

Sony’s 400-disc Blu-ray changer deemed worthy of your $1,900 – if you have 400 discs

The first reaction most have to these Sony megachangers hasn’t changed over the years. Just insert the name of the appropriate physical media. But yes, some people do own that many discs and so these changers make sense for them. Plus, while digital downloads are great and the future of the average consumer, there are still some folk that demand the absolute best picture and sound which only Blu-ray can provide. Electronic house had a chance to sit down with the ES Blu-ray changer and sent it through the paces.

We won’t ruin all the surprises, but they found the audio and video to be up to the ES standard. But they also came to the same conclusion as a lot of us when the BDP-CX7000ES launched: why the hell isn’t there built-in memory for BD-Live and DLNA support even though less expensive models offer both? Plus, the lack of WiFi is strange for a $1,900 Blu-ray player. It couldn’t cost more than $15 per player to build the right stuff in. But then we would find something else to complain about, so Sony probably can’t ever win. Ah well.

Zelda-fy your baby with this handmade Link outfit

If you’re on the fence about having a baby, consider the fact that you can dress it up however you please. Case in point, this very excellent handmade Link outfit that a user over at the Crafster forums whipped up.

Instead of a quiver of arrows, this outfit’s quiver holds a baby bottle since that’s all that babies seem to care about anyway. The footies look like little Link boots and have “leather soles [on] the bottoms to make them look more medieval-ey.”

And if that’s not enough, there’s even a green baby blanket with the Triforce in the corner. Everything will be presented to the parents of the baby in a Zelda-era wooden treasure chest. Yes, that’s right — all this stuff is a gift for someone else’s baby.
