There is a lot of action going on so the trick is to capture that action.

The next tip is to not settle in capturing the standard shots that you know of.Well, you can still take those standard photos like the photos of the bride and groom posing for you but the highlight of your album should be about moments in action.  As a San Diego photographer I am always thinking of ways to capture the same shots with different angles.That way you would not only have photos of the events but you can tel what happened during the event just by looking at the photos.This would be tricky to do but with practice you can perfect it.

Last tip is to make your photos bigger than life.Because this is bigger than life event for those people involved.  So as a San Diego event photography service I have learned doing big events how to do this.What I mean by this is to not only capture small pictures or standard pictures.You have to take shots that would make the moment seem bigger.

Well in my practice as a San Diego wedding photographer I do many weddings. And weddings are very important events.  There is a lot of joy of course.But along with the joy come stress and pressure.  One of those pressures is to capture that day forever.  And if you are proud of the work you do, you want your work to immortalize that day.  And the only way you can do that is if you get better. 

One of those ways to get better is to practice.And practice means practicing at an event where you are not getting any payment.  No, you should practice taking photos of weddings you don’t have pay in.That way you can be creative with your shots and you can also experiment with new ones.  I have done this many times as a San Diego photographer.Of course you can’t command the bride and groom to pose for you unless you know them well.But you can still take great shots from that event.

Another way of improving your photography skills is by entering and joining a photography competition.Nothing compares to bringing out one’s competitive juices by joining competitions.Doing your best is great for these competitions.And what’s good about this is that at the end of the competition you can gauge how you performed by comparing your work to other works. Doing San Diego event photography this has helped me see where I need to improve in as well as see my strengths.And the bonus is that you get to receive a nice award if you win.

So the first thing you want to do is be in the moment.  What do I mean by that?  Well everyone knows what happens at a wedding.  There are planned events.But a lot of emotions are being displayed even if the events are planned.  Since you have been to many wedding be ready for those moments.  Those will be some of the best shots of the whole wedding.  In my portfolio as a San Diego photographer you can see that to be the case.

Another thing to remember is that in a wedding people are constantly on the move.So do not focus on taking still shots.  You will capture some of the best moments by capturing movements. It is a hard trick to capture but can be done.  Of course I had to hone my skills doing San Diego event photography to be able to do this.  But once you capture some shots that are more than still shots you will love it.You can outshoot their hired photographer.That would be a great feeling if you are still an amateur.  Plus you will be able to share those great photos with your friends.  And who knows, it could lead to paying jobs.
