Once upon a time, in the not-so-distant past, Verizon was still in phase one of its LTE lineup, which consisted of nothing but 4.3-inch slate phones with questionable battery life and very little to stand out from the rest of the competition. Now that we’re seeing the second generation of devices coming into the 4G fold, Big Red appears to be pushing choice — not just in terms of size and feel, but price as well. The Pantech Breakout was the first to, well, break out of the mold, offering a smaller form factor for a much more reasonable cost. It was nothing to write home about, but the fact that it existed gave us hope that we’d see a slew of phones in the same price range, finally making high-speed connectivity a more affordable option.

Shortly afterward, the Samsung Stratosphere sneaked up and snatched the spotlight away from Pantech, offering the very first QWERTY keyboard on an LTE-capable device for a cost similar to that of the Breakout. But when we first saw the phone, something felt eerily familiar: it looked almost exactly like the Epic 4G, a Galaxy S-era device that was released on Sprint’s WiMAX lineup nearly a year and a half ago. Looks are one thing, but what about the internals? Does the brand new Stratosphere perform like an old phone, or does it give a completely fresh perspective on a 2010 classic? Read on for the full scoop.

Where have all the split-keyboard phones gone? It’s been roughly seven years since the days of the Nokia 6820, a messaging device with an innovative form factor, but handsets with a similar mold have become extreme rarities in the market — if they even make it to the market at all (remember the MotoSplit?). LG’s hoping to gain some ground in this area by officially announcing the DoublePlay, a unique Android 2.3 handset with dual touchscreens and split QWERTY. Here’s the scoop: the DoublePlay’s powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU and offers a 5MP rear-facing camera capable of capturing 720p HD video. Where it gets interesting, however, is in the DoublePlay’s design — it uses a 3.5-inch display on top, sliding out to reveal a 2-inch internal screen sandwiched in between both halves of the keyboard. As it turns out, both screens can be used separately or in tandem with each other, depending on your needs. No pricing or availability was specifically announced, but the presser appears to coincide with the 2011 National Texting Championship beginning October 26th, so the phone will likely launch around the same time. Perhaps we have a device here that’ll be a legend in another seven years?

X-bit labs has a (pretty massive) scoop of AMD info to share with us this week, as it has put together the above chart detailing what it expects the company’s APU roadmap will look like for the remainder of the year. Published a couple of days ago, this data has now been partially corroborated by the snoops over at DigiTimes, who confirm a couple of the model names and agree that AMD is planning an initial Q3 rollout of five Llano chips, to be followed by even more processors coming in Q4 of 2011. Llano represents AMD’s play for the performance crown, coming as it does with dual- or quad-core processing units, DirectX 11-capable Radeon HD 6000-series graphics, and a dual-channel DDR3 memory controller, all bundled up inside the same warm and toasty package. More E-series APUs for power-conscious users are also said to be on the cards, and AMD itself should be making these plans official at Computex in Taipei come early June. It’s a bit of a wait, but we’ve got a feeling it’ll be worth it.

Eric Schmidt only has a few more months to call himself CEO of Google, but contrary to some reports, he won’t be stepping away when he hands said title over to Larry Page. Not even close, in fact. In a lengthy talk with The Telegraph at the World Economic Forum last week, the Google bigwig discussed everything from his own future to the future of technology, and just about everything in between. While we’d highly recommend peeking the source link for the full scoop, there are a few gems worth separating. He made crystal clear that he’s not “semi-retiring,” and there was absolutely no fear about competition from Facebook in the decision. In fact, he feels that increased interest in Facebook will inevitably lead to increased interest in Google. Speaking about the future of search and social, he noted that from now on, “you need never be lonely,” carefully adding that location-based activities will be there to bolster one’s digital experience so long as they wish to opt-in. He also threw the gents and gals at Cupertino quite the bone, despite the fact that Google and Apple have had their own differences over the years. According to Eric:

“When I grew up it was basically about enterprises – IT. Today computer science is really about consumers and information. The rise of Google, the rise of Facebook, the rise of Apple, I think are proof that there is a place for computer science as something that solves problems that people face every day. There was only one company that saw that a decade before anybody else and that company is Apple. If you look even through the Nineties — Sun, Microsoft, Novell, Cisco — they were fundamentally infrastructure companies based around corporations. That is where the money was. There was almost no consumer use with the exception of Apple in people’s daily lives. The big shift was over 10 – 15 years and it came with the development of the web.”

As we said, the whole interview is most certainly worth a read.

Taylor Swift is her generation’s greatest lyrical communicator, her biggest strength her capability to develop compelling narratives that progressively escalate conflict even though reaching for some inevitable resolution. She plunges us into the middle of a story, exposes some relatable conflict and then makes it possible for the momentum of the song’s plot to drive us forward, along the way introducing a cast of characters that are vibrant and endowed with quite palpable desires, fears and troubles.

The result is a physique of function that is as visual as it is auditory. You don’t just listen to a Taylor Quick tune; you watch it unfold like a teleplay. “Mine” is possibly her finest instance of that however, staged in beautiful detail and so effectively-drawn that filming a audio video for it nearly looks redundant. Her latest album “Converse Now” has not still been launched, but that’s not stopping the initial individual “Mine” from getting and internet feeling and overnight report topper.

Even region goddess Taylor Hasty is surprised by the accomplishment of “Mine” as she says in this behind the scenes look at the romantic new video clip, which also provides fans the within scoop on the young actress who plays Quick as a youngster in the video clip. You can download the free mp3 file of this song by clicking Taylor Swift Mine mp3 download

Bruno Mars is a breath of refreshing air he has a quite charming tone of voice and this track defines his genre of songs. He really should genuinely function hard and he’ll be bigger than most singers. Beginning off a solo career with a sluggish-paced monitor has worked wonders for numerous but unfortunately this track looks like it should’ve been a second or third one rather than the very first which is generally intended to showcase the future LP; his becoming set for release in October. The track in no way builds to any climax and it basically falls a bit flat, coming throughout very corny and tacky. Sounding like a Jason Derulo or Usher course, there is absolutely nothing about the solitary that helps make Bruno Mars stand out from all the other RnB artists dominating the charts at the moment. You can download the free mp3 file of this song by clicking Bruno Mars Just The Way You Are mp3 download

Don’t get us wrong, it is a gorgeous music and the touching lyrics completely complement this, but beyond this, there is nothing that proves Bruno as a worthy solo artist. Whilst the melody performs effectively and is sure to contact the hearts of lovesick teenagers, there is practically nothing genuinely as well distinctive or authentic about the track; really sounding like it would be used for the duration of the dramatic components of the X-Issue auditions. One particular can’t criticize Bruno Mars too very much; he has co-wrote, made, and appeared on some of the largest hits this past 12 months. Sadly for him, nevertheless, the same credit score can’t be provided to this one. Let’s just hope his album has much more to offer you. It’s http://www.vreexplosion.com who brought to you.
