Jawbone Big Jambox packs on the pounds, rears its fat head at the FCC

Posted by on Friday, 3 February, 2012

Despite occupying a questionable space on the scale of must-have audio goods, Jawbone’s little Bluetooth speaker that could managed to win us over with its ample range. Now, that stylish peripheral is about to get shunted out of the spotlight, making way for a plus-sized sibling. As recent FCC documents have revealed, the company has a Big Jambox in the works which is, presumably, bigger than its diminutive kin. Aside from ports for micro-USB, audio-in and power, not much else could be gleaned from the filing. Given its larger-than-life moniker, however, we’d expect this new offering to be more of a standard dock than kitschy accessory.

LG Spectrum review

Posted by on Wednesday, 1 February, 2012

Let’s just get this out of the way, shall we? If the LG Spectrum looks familiar, you’re not imagining things. It may have been a highlight at the company’s CES press event last month, but the handset bears more than a passing resemblance to its older, more excitingly-named sibling, the LG Nitro HD — and, by extension, the globe-trotting Optimus LTE. Beneath their 4.5-inch IPS displays, you’ll find virtually identical guts, including a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1,830mAh battery and 4GB of internal storage, coupled with a 16GB microSD. There are some important distinctions here, of course — namely, changes to the phone’s shell and, of course, a shift from AT&T to Verizon. So, how does world-weary Optimus fare from its jump to Big Red? Find the answer past the break.

Wedding Photography: Is Your Wedding Photographer Capable Of Delivering You Artistically Captured Shots On Your Special Day?

Posted by on Saturday, 30 April, 2011

Wedding is a very special day anyone is looking forward to. And of course, you would want everything that day be documented and remembered forever. There’s no other way of immortalizing an event than capturing each of its moment on a video, or through Perth wedding photographers. On that day, you are not expected to hold the camera and the documentation since you & your partner should be the ones in the photographs. You won’t dare ask a friend or a sibling to the job either. Because what if they don’t have a knack for a creative and wonderful photography? It will surely something that you will piss you off for the rest of your life.

So what else can you do but hire real-time photographers who are more than capable? Firstly, it is their job. Photography is what they do so they sure have the experience to do the job the best they could. As they capture each moment, they are able to apply the photography techniques they know. Secondly, they are already armed with all the equipments necessary. They have the right and high performance cameras to take their commands. With a professional photographer, you can never go wrong. You can be confident that every moment on your wedding will be captured. Every moment will be given the proper justice it deserves. Or not that quite.

While you commissioned a pro photographer, it is not a guarantee that you will get what you want. Photographers are specializing in different types of photography. So make sure that you commissioned the photographer who is expert on Perth wedding photography. This is a good way of ensuring that all the pictures taken from your wedding pass the standards of the traditional wedding pictures. And not because a photographer is a professional, it does not mean that he’d would reflect professionalism. You have to do a background check and find out the reputation of the photographer you are interested to commission.

In determining if your wedding photographers can capture you amazing wedding pictures, there’s one ultimate way of finding out. Ask for samples of the wedding photos they have done for their previous clients. Take a look at their wedding galleries and see if their ways are impressive for you or not. Your Perth wedding photographers should be able to make a good impression from the start by treating you well and showing you their previous works. If you are impressed by the way they treated you and with their portfolio, then it is most likely that your chosen photography can deliver pictures the way you want them.

Nintendo posts first 3DS advert for the US, whets growing appetites (video)

Posted by on Tuesday, 15 March, 2011

For the last few remaining souls in North America not aware that the Nintendo 3DS is coming later this month, the Japanese company has rolled out its first US commercial. Shockingly enough, it doesn’t display anything not already announced, but now would be kind of late to be springing surprises on us anyhow, right? It’s a portable console with glasses-free 3D — that works reasonably well — and it’s made by Nintendo, which means half the people on your street will probably own by this time next month. Jump past the break to see the American commercial and its earlier-released UK sibling — you’ll find a fun juxtaposition of presentation styles when comparing the two.

Sony announces 17-inch and 25-inch Trimaster EL professional OLED monitors

Posted by on Thursday, 17 February, 2011

The last we heard of a reasonably sized Sony OLED display was way back in June, even though it was just the panel itself rather than a full package like the XEL-1 OLED TV. But yesterday, Sony unveiled a couple of new OLED monitors for its Trimaster EL professional range: on the left we have the BVM-E250 25-incher, accompanied by the BVM-E170 17-inch sibling on the right. The “Super Top Emission OLED” panels on both models boast an RGB 10-bit driver, 100 cd/m2 standard luminance, 1920 x 1080 resolution, plus an impressive 178-degree viewing angle both vertically and laterally. We’ll save the rest of the technical details for you video nuts in the press release (along with a video) after the break, but let us warn you that these don’t come cheap: the E250 will be available in mid-April for around ¥2.4 million (,910), and the E170 in June for around ¥1.3 million (,710).
