Turkcell subscribers looking to make a purchase from their favorite Istanbul bazaar now have one extra payment option — if they’re a BlackBerry Bold owners, that is. Research In Motion and Turkcell have announced the availability of touchless NFC payments for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 via Turkcell’s Cep-T Cüzdan mobile application. Interested parties can visit their local Turkcell retailer to trade-up to an NFC-compatible SIM, load the Cep-T application and begin swiping their Berry wherever (worldwide) MasterCard PayPass is accepted. Purchases under 35TL (around ) won’t require any additional verification, though procurements over that threshold will require you to enter a PIN on the handset or tender your signature. Dell quietly kills Streak 5 while nobody’s looking, mourns end-of-life status

Posted by on Thursday, 11 August, 2011
The Dell Streak 5 has always been an outlier, and it’s traveled a bumpy road ever since the unveiling when Dell insisted its smartphone was in fact a portable tablet. From the delayed launch in the US to its 9 price for a SIM-locked unit — not to mention the uncomfortably long dance with Donut — perhaps this moment has been coming for a while. That’s right, folks, the Dell Streak 5 is no more. Last month we reported it had been taken off the market while it received a software update, but the hive mind in Round Rock must have changed its sentiments along the way. The company now hosts a web page that declares its spacious smartphone / compact tablet has met end-of-life status, and it’s offering little information other than the ominous phrase, “Streak 5 is no longer available.” Perhaps spinners such as DJ_Steve will keep the misbegotten wonder alive with projects like StreakDroid, but for the time being, we’re forced to hang our heads to honor the Streak’s passing. It’s been a great ride, indeed.

Widen your research to as many dealer options available. To know about laws concerning car insurance across states, surf on various websites of car insurance dealers. After you are done doing the preliminaries, your are now ready to begin your legwork.

Compare And Contrast Insurance Prices

According to reports as of January 2010, the average cost for car insurance is pegged at $1,844 a year. But it further varies on immediate factors such as location, car model, how often do you drive and how many cars do you actually own.

Driving into accident prone areas like busy roads requires you a higher amount of insurance You may never know will you bump on other’s expensive car or you scratch your car yourself, so you have to be sure you something to pay for the damage and fund for the repair.

On the aspect of car model, the more safety features included in your car, the lesser insurance you will as it exercises safety to the car user. If you have airbags or anti-lock breaks, it keeps you from simple accident like banging your head and chest hard on the steering wheel.

Price of car insurance also follows from how lots of cars do you drive and how frequently do you travel with them. You have to be more insured as you are often on the road prone to coming accidents. If they are destroyed too, you ought to have resources for repairs. Today, the range of maintenance and repair bill of one car alone from cheap to the classy models cost from $3000 up to $10,000 high. With that expensive payment on repairs alone, selecting for the cheapest yet the greatest insurance should be the priority.

Compare And Contrast Insurance Coverage

The most important aspects of insurance coverage authorities are looking for is its capacity to afford property and injury liabilities. We may on no account be certain of the extent of the damages we can inflict to ourselves, more so on others if accidents come. Injury liabilities do not include solely the physical aspects of it but its consequences too such as the incapability to work after the accident because of the recovery period or the complete incapability due to huge impairment the accident has caused.

As we drive along the road, bear in mind that we also ought to keep others safe much as we want ourselves to be secured. By being insured ourselves, we also provide protection to other people. But in no way disregard to be careful in selecting the best opportunity. It’s true that not one thing comes without a price, but, at the very least, they can be cheaper.

SIM-Drive’s SIM-LEI electric car achieves 207-mile driving range in Japan

Posted by on Thursday, 31 March, 2011

Manufacturers are constantly optimising the driving range for electric vehicles, and sure enough, a Japanese startup recently made a breakthrough with its first prototype. Dubbed the SIM-LEI, this cute four-wheeler from SIM-Drive sips juice off a Toshiba 24.9kWh lithium ion battery, and can go from zero to 100km/h (62mph) in just 4.8 seconds, with maximum speed topping at 150km/h (93mph). What’s more impressive, though, is that SIM-Drive managed to squeeze out a driving range of 333km (207 miles) on a JC-08 cycle (a standardised test that simulates driving in congested Japanese city traffic), putting the LEI well ahead of its competitors on the chart — Nissan’s Leaf does about 100 miles, for instance. Sadly, mass-production won’t kick off until 2013, which should hopefully let the others do a bit of catching up with this remarkable newcomer.

Google’s Cr-48 netbook now surfing on AT&T’s GSM network (after a gentle hack)

Posted by on Saturday, 5 February, 2011

Oh, sure — Google’s being all-too-kind by handing out a few free megabytes of Verizon data with each of its Cr-48 netbooks, but if you’re both lucky enough to have one and more inclined to use that dust-collecting AT&T SIM of yours, there’s hardly a better day for you to pay attention to a hack. After noticing that a recent update to Chrome OS added GSM support for Qualcomm’s Gobi 3G chip, Hexxeh dug in a little to see what it’d take to get the Cr-48 operational with a data SIM from Ma Bell. Turns out there’s shockingly little needed from you; simply flip the Developer switch beneath the battery and follow the shell commands listed in the source link. It should be noted that there’s no data counter here, so watch those gigabytes if you’re working with a data cap. There, we solved your Saturday. You’re welcome.
