If you’re still lamenting the fact that Duke Nukem Forever will never see the light of day, you might want to look away, since this news could be even harder to take. Way back in September of 1993, game publisher TecMagik announced that they had secured the rights to make a Super Nintendo (and Sega Genesis) game based on Steven Seagal. Oddly enough the game wasn’t based on a specific Seagal movie either (this was just before Under Siege came out making him a big name movie star) so TecMagik had signed him based solely on how well his previous films had done in the VHS rental market.

Sadly the game, which had Seagal wandering around with a female sidekick, fighting baddies in an effort to save her son, was never released. A 1994 release date was pushed back to 1995, and eventually the title disappeared after TecMagik announced a similar N64 title, which also never came out. The game’s graphics used the Mortal Kombat technique of filming live actors which were converted into somewhat-lifelike sprites, though a stand-in was used for Seagal since they figured people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference given the low-res digitized images. Deep down we would have all known though, so maybe the game’s demise was for the best.

There have been so many driving games be released onto our games consoles. So many have just come and gone, but there have been few that have stuck around to see it. So let us tale a look at some of the driving games that are currently around or been around in the past.

Mario Kart

Mario Kart and racing has been around all the way from the SNES console, although the game has forever stuck to its ways, there have been a few changes over the years. Things such as extra characters and a few extra weapons, but most importantly the graphics have improved. I believe Mario Kart is a game that people can sit down and play for hours upon hours, without getting fed up or world-weary.

Need for Speed

Need for speed is for the ultimate gamers, the races are high speed and non stop. Since the game first hit the market, we have just seen cars get better and better and almost come to life.

Gran Turismo

This game has literally been around since the very first PlayStation console was released, it is one of thos games where you can work on building up your career and money to buy better automobile, a must have for the fanatics.

Grand Theft Auto

Although not solely a driving game, I think the GTA games are probably one of the more entertaining, especially for the older generation. You can literally steal cars, smash cars, race them, perform getawats and make them burst forth. I believe that even the 1st GTA that was released literally shook up the gaming globe, with it Birdseye view game play.

There have been many more games throughout the years that have come and gone things such as road rage which used to be great titles.

When your old vehicle has had it, why not look at purchasing or viewing used cars, there are so many different models of Volkswagen or Toyota

Back in the day you could buy a special cartridge for your Super Nintendo known as the ‘Super Game Boy‘ that allowed you to play Game Boy titles on your TV. But apparently someone felt that using the Super Nintendo’s controller for a Game Boy game was just too confusing, which led to the creation of this bizarre accessory known as the Super Gameboy Commander. Eagle-eyed readers will notice that it has the same button layout as the Game Boy did, with a few extra ones allowing you to also play Super Nintendo (or Super Famicom) titles with it.

I find it hard to believe that anyone using the Super Game Boy would be jamming Tetris pieces in the wrong places because they were confused by the SNES’s control pad, and I find it even harder to believe that there would still be a market for this thing today. But believe it or not, NCSX is selling them brand new in their original boxes for $19.90.
