Thanko’s Spy Flashlight records video in HD (video)

Posted by on Friday, 12 February, 2010

It looks like Tokyo-based acessory maker Thanko is trying to carve out a new niche for themselves, spy gadgets (apart from insane USB gadgets). The newest addition to their spy equipment lineup is the LED Spy Light HD [JP], an LED flashlight that records video in HD. Needless to say, the device lets you shoot photos, too.

To be more specific, the device has a built-in mini camera that lets you shoot video in 1,280×960 at 30fps and pictures in 1,600×1,200. And because it’s a flashlight, you can (supposedly) do that in the dark – just like a spy, as Thanko says. There’s no internal memory, but you can use SD/SDHC cards to store your material.

The device can also be used as a voice recorder, according to Thanko. All material can later be transferred to your PC (Windows XP, Vista and 7 only) via USB 2.0.

Geek Stuff 4 U is already listing the LED Spy Light HD for the international market (price: $106.01 plus shipping).

Here’s a sample video taken with the flashlight:

Make use of hidden cam at head office so that everything is done completely

I possess a shop where I sell decorative items like, the decorative lamps, show pieces and various other interior articles. Since I am alone with nobody else to look after my shop I had to be extremely attentive with the stocks which I have in my shop. But it true that one man cannot be always at the places and sometimes it happens that some or the other problem takes place and the same happened with me. Gradually I felt that some of my stocks were missing. I found that a number of small decorative lamps were gone from the shop however I in fact did not recognize how to catch the criminal.

When I was tensed my wife recommended me that I should install a hidden camera in the shop so that all the actions of the troublemaker will get captured in it and finally we can protect our shop from trouble. We logged on to the website where we get all the possible information of the cameras and after going through all the fine points we finally decided to place an order for the Hidden cameras for the reason that we felt that these cameras would be the finest device according to our shops position.

Our camera was shipped to our house within a few days and finally we were relaxed that now our problem would be solved to a great extent and this happened so. The moment we got the camera we got it installed in the shop. This Spy equipment is an amazing product and we liked it very much because of its small size and the recording procedure done with this camera is really easy. It is only 3 inches long and without linking it to any other gadget we can run this genuine digital camcorder camera.

Later on to the installation of the camera I could focus on to my other jobs and could with ease focus on to my customers. I was now least bothered in relation to the loss of my articles from the shop as I knew that the camera would help to catch the actual crook. After a few days an image was captured in the spy camera and it was one of worker who was making this trouble. I fired him out of the work and was happy that in future also if anyhow I may have to face the same problem then at that time also I can make use of this Mini spy camera at my work place so that everything is done perfectly.

I was in fact grateful to the inventors of this wonderful gadget and was glad that I got a chance to use this camera which bought a confidence in me that I can handle all the situations and the problems in my shop single-handedly with just a simple push of the button. There are quite a lot of added spy cameras which may well support us to review our surroundings very specifically and effortlessly.

One crime in every 1000 cameras

New research has shown that only one crime per year will be solved with the help of computer surveillance. Since the release of this information the public are in uproar over the excessive use of surveillance equipment in and around almost every city.

A local Chief Detective said officers should do more to make use of evidence captured by the cameras which are practically on almost every street corner around the country. The effectiveness of CCTV has clearly be pointed out with these statistics. CCTV cameras are not exactly the most popular subject with most of the English public. Why on earth would we require CCTV if it is not even working very well – I don’t see the logic personally in spy equipment? There is a unanamous dissapointment in the CCTV cameras around the country. How can they be this in-effective? There must be a solution. In my opinion it is only a matter of time before they have mobile phone tracking hooked up on all of us! Granted, that may be a little over the top but none the less it is natural to believe that we are living in a big brother society.

Recent research has indicated that computer video surveillance has been the most useful in preventing vehicle thefts and vandalism in car parks. To help out with this problem people have been investing money into vehicle tracking devices which radically increases the chance of getting your car if it has been stolen. It is somewhat proven that video surveillance technology is not all that useful and it creates a huge intrusion on everyday life. So what is the point? Why must we invest ridiculous amounts of money into this. So, what can we do? Why do we need these cameras in our streets anymore? Should we get rid of them all together? You would hope that something is being done to rectify this problem. I don’t think anyone was expecting that these statistics would be so low. Let’s see what happens..

Spying on the ‘joneses’ -have we become a big brother state?

Posted by on Saturday, 27 June, 2009

With all the Spy gadgets and spy equipment out there to buy, we have to ask the question of have we gone too far? Has the whole country become that paranoid that we need to spy on each other? The technology is becomming cheaper to buy for more people, and smaller so cameras can fit in something like a pen. And the gadgets are so cheap as to be brought by people just for a laugh, it is cheap enough to be considered by people with a purpose to using it.

What is it about this gear that helps us out? So you need evidence of vandals destroying your property or a cheating partner this is they way to do it -recordings are proof enough in court. It will mostly also benefit businesses in deterring staff theft and catch other thieves on camera when they try to steal from the business.

But using the eqiupment to spy on those we know? It all depends on if we’re using the equipment sensibly, because it can be a huge invasion on privacy, and when it too far to far? It is possible to record a persons movements all day with all the gps vehicle tracking, phone spying software and hidden cameras that are now available. So are we going overboard with all this spying equipment? we’ve been worried for awhile that our governments being spying on us, but now we’re being spied on by family and friends? We have to be careful that in our efforts to protect ourselves, we dont end up becoming a ‘big brother’ state, where the only privacy we will have left, will be the inside of our heads.
