Nikon D800 slips out for an early bird preview, to be officially unveiled tomorrow?

Posted by on Monday, 6 February, 2012

We’ve seen Nikon’s successor to the D700 slip out a few times this past winter, but this latest leak and its bevy of press images might just be the real deal. According to Brazilian site ZTOP, the company’s set to officially debut its 36.3-megapixel D800 tomorrow. So, what’s on the spec list? Well, it looks like those rumors were true, as this high-end DSLR apparently boasts that aforementioned CMOS sensor capable of 7360 x 4912 resolution and the ability to toggle ISO from 100 – 6,400. As you’d imagine, this high-end, digital light box also comes equipped with the ability for full 1080p30 HD video capture, recording content in either H.264 or MPEG-4 formats. Naturally, there’s also a 3.2-inch LCD viewfinder onboard so you can sift through your sizeable gallery of stills. While we still caution you to take this news with a nigh invisible grain of salt, it’s likely all will be revealed in one day’s time. Check out the source below for additional shots.

10 Undeniable Clues That You Need Satellite Internet

Posted by on Friday, 27 May, 2011

For those considering satellite as their high speed Internet option, here are 10 reasons to aid in your decision.

Learn about the high speed Internet options available to you.

1 – High Speed Internet Offers Are Cheaper and Better Than You Think
Satellite high speed Internet offers are much less money than you might expect them to be. The majority of high speed Internet options will offer upload/download speeds that will be adequate even for people who use the Internet all the time.

2 – You Ignore Your Computer
Have you ever been waiting so long for your dial up connection to process your requests that you have just lost it? You may have simply refused to use the Web all together because of the turtle-like speeds.

3 – You’re The Only One on the Block With Dial Up
All of those living in your area already use satellite Internet because they find that it is better than dial up or air cards. What are you waiting for?

4 – You Have Heard Through the Grapevine That Other High Speed Internet Options Are On the Way
You’ve heard a rumor that there will be high speed Internet options from major cable and DSL providers for your rural community soon. But you have been hearing that same rumor year after year. You are beginning to ask yourself if those rumors will ever come true.

5 – Do You Even Know When You Are Missing Calls?
Due to the fact that you can’t use your telephone and dial-up Internet simultaneously, you have more than likely missed some phone calls you shouldn’t have.

6 – You Just Can’t Get Anything Done
Your super slow Internet has prevented you from sending or receiving email in a reasonable time, has prevented you from getting homework completed on time, or has prevented you from completing some other very important tasks that require the Internet.

Get more information about your high speed Internet options.

7 – You Are Currently a Satellite TV Customer
You already have a functioning satellite television connection. If that is the case then you know you have a clear view of the southern sky which is also necessary for satellite Internet connections.

8 – You Can’t Have More Than One Device Connected To The Internet
Let’s say more than one person in your household needs the Internet at the same time. When you buy satellite Internet, you can create a wireless network with the proper equipment.

9 – You Don’t Want to be Stuck Inside
You fantasize about sitting in front of the television with your laptop or iPad and browsing the web. If you set up a wireless network with the proper equipment, you won’t be glued to your computer desk.

10 – Your Email is AOL
The premier satellite Internet providers can get you set up with a brand new email address that has many more features and functions.

WWDC rumor bingo is go!

We were going to do a roundup of all those rumors, things we know, things we don’t know, etc, but then we thought: “Why don’t we make some nachos?” So we did. And then it was time to publish the rumor roundup, so we just stuck ‘em all on an old-timey bingo card.

Seriously, though, this is a pretty good representation of the major points we expect to be covered at WWDC this coming week. I’m not sure how we’ll know whether there’s a robot Steve Jobs or not, but it seemed prudent to put the possibility on the card regardless.

Keep this handy as a quick reference; we’ll have in-depth coverage this week all over the network. And maybe a prize or two?

PSP Go Leaked: Slider With 16GB of Flash Storage and Bluetooth

Posted by on Saturday, 30 May, 2009

Live images have leaked of Sony’s PSP Go, set to launch at next week’s E3. Looks like those rumors were true: It’s a UMD-less slider with 16GB of memory, and it’ll ship this fall. No price yet, but that should come with the official announcement next week. Update with video:

All this leakage stems from the June issue of Qore, which is a bit of a slip-up on Sony’s part. The Go looks to keep the single analog joystick, though the overall design is quite a bit more playful and, well, circular than previous iterations of the PSP. Notice we didn’t say “attractive”: the circle section that houses the start and select buttons especially has kind of a late-90s feel to it, but we’ll have to see how it looks in the hand. It should be packing Bluetooth and a memory card slot (probably MemoryStick, grah) in addition to the 16GB of internal memory.

Also lining up with the previous rumors is that the new PSP Go will not replace the PSP 3000, but instead try to live peacefully with the older device on store shelves. And that hefty 16GB of storage space makes sense considering what we’ve heard about possible digital game rentals and a music store. Wintek Rumored To Manufacture Apple Tablet

With Apple’s WWDC coming up quick, there are plenty of rumors swirling around the interwebs. I don’t think anyone really doubts that there will be a new iPhone announced, but my favorite rumor is of the Apple Tablet. This is one of those rumors that just won’t die, mostly because so many people are wishing that it would be real. As often as these rumors crop up, I’m actually surprised that Apple has yet to show any real interest in such a product. In case you weren’t sure where all of this was going, there’s a rumor about a new Apple tablet floating around.

This time someone has nailed down Wintek as the supplier for this seemingly imaginary product. Essentially they are supposed to be providing an “e-book form factor netbook product.” The main uses for the touchscreen tablet will be internet browsing, and VoIP, which strikes me as a bit odd. Sure, I’d browse the net on a 10-inch tablet, but don’t you think I’d look a bit silly with that thing up against my head? Yes, a headset would seem the more likely solution, but it still seems like a strange application for an oversized iPod Touch. The rumor pegs the device as launching sometime in 2010, which means that we may or may not hear about this at the WWDC next month (provided that it’s true in the first place).
