Verbatim BD-R LTH media is manufactured with an organic dye that turns the disc’s reflectivity during recording from “low to high”. Other BD-R discs use the “high to low” recording method. Additionally, BD-R LTH is manufactured on converted CD-R/DVD-R production lines, which utilize a spin coating process and allow excess materials to be recycled. These two cost-cutting measures let us pass along the savings to you. Upon introduction of the BD-R LTH media, key hardware manufacturers like Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic and LG have worked to assure that their burners are fully compatible. If your BD burner is a 2009 model or later it will most likely support recording and playback of BD-R LTH media. If your Blu-ray hardware was manufactured before 2009, check with the manufacturer for firmware updates.

Blue lasers are on the cutting edge of consumer laser pointers. This beautiful blue-violet laser is more pleasing to look at than red or green!
Please note, because the human eye is more sensitive to green than to blue, this laser pointer will appear less bright than a similar green one. However, the milliwatt output is factory-calibrated and accurate. In daylight or bright places, the blue laser will be more difficult to see. In darkness, it is still bright and perfect for use in presentations. In fact, it is not “too bright” to look at like some green lasers!

Blu-ray, also referred to as Blu-ray Disc (BD), is a name related with a next generation optical disc format. It’s a similar physical proportions as normal DVDs and Compact disks, however provides over 5 times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs, holding as much as 27 Gigabite of data on a single-layer disc, that’s a lot more than Two hours of high definition video or about thirteen hours of standard video, and also as much as 50 Gigabite on a dual-layer disc. Existing developments by Pioneer have pushed the storage potential to 500GB on a solitary disc by using Twenty layers. For an amazing Blu-ray player, check out 3d blu ray titles.

This added capability merged jointly with the use of advanced video and audio codecs provides consumers an unparalleled High definition experience. Furthermore, add-ons for instance bonus material and also special features could be included in high quality inside the same disc, therefore there is no requirement for separate bonus discs to go along with the movie title.

Blu-ray was collectively formulated by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), a collection of the world’s top consumer electronics, personal computer and media producers, including Dell, Apple, HP, Hitachi, JVC, Mitsubishi, Pioneer, LG, Panasonic, Philips, Sony, Samsung, Sharp, Thomson and also TDK. It has been created to permit recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), and also keeping huge amounts of data.

Although present optical disc technologies like DVD make use of a red laser to read and write data, the Blu-ray format utilizes a blue-violet laser in its place. The benefit of using a blue-violet laser (405 nm) is it’s got a shorter wavelength than the usual red laser (650 nm), rendering it feasible to focus the laser area with even higher accuracy. That enables data to become packed a lot more closely and stored in a reduced amount of space, so you are able to fit more files on the disc. Nevertheless, despite different type of lasers utilized, Blu-ray merchandise can very easily be created backwards compatible with CDs and also DVDs via the use of a BD/DVD/CD compatible optical pickup unit, sony blu ray 3d.

Throughout the format war over high-definition optical discs, Blu-ray Disc competed with the HD DVD format. However, on February 19, 2008, Toshiba, the leading organization supporting High definition DVD, introduced that it would no longer develop, make, or market High definition DVD players and recorders, leading almost every other HD DVD companies to follow suit, and also therefore effectively concluding the format war. Blu -ray is currently supported by about 200 of the world’s leading pc, consumer electronics, recording media, music and also video game organizations. The format has the advantage of support coming from all Hollywood studios and also different small studios to be a successor to the current DVD format. Major blank media makers such as TDK likewise support the Blu-ray Disc format as being the successor to DVD.

Blu-ray offers a number of the strongest copy protection procedures ever developed for any buyer format, rendering it the most effective choice for just about any content publisher seeking assurance that their important assets are guarded from piracy. The format includes a powerful copy protection system, which not just utilizes implementation on the playback device, but which also consists of precautions at replicator level, which may be strictly controlled. As opposed to the voluntary execution of CSS protection in DVD, the copy protection mechanism for Blu-ray Disc is required and also will be governed by strict licensing processes

Take a look at the awesome bluray and simplye be astounded!

With the advent of the Compact Disc at the beginning of Nineteen Eighties, the world underwent a dramatic change. It provided great audio quality and the ability to hold six hundred and fifty megabytes of data as a giant step in data storing and retrieving. This was the first time people had access to pre-recorded, recordable and rewritable media at low costs. It allowed extensive copying and sharing out of audio. However, in the 1990’s, the demand for higher storage capacities arose and led to the development of the DVD which was a 5 – 10 x increase in storage capacity. Although it was a new technology, the new DVD format used the same form factor as the CD which facilitated the migration into the next generation format. This added to the DVD’s success with consumers.

In the present day, blu ray discs have made still another upheaval. This new optical disc format is a proud development of the Blu Ray Disc Association (BDA) that include HP, Dell, LG, Hitachi, Apple, Samsung, Panasonic, JVC, Sony, Mitsubishi, Philips, Pioneer, Sharp, Thomson, and TDK. The BDA boasts 180 of the world’s leading consumer electronics, media and personal computer manufacturers.

Blu ray discs provide enhanced storing capabilities, i.e. twenty-five GB on single-layer and fifty GB on dual layer discs. It is the perfect definition of the ultimate user experience and allows the recording, rewriting, playback and distribution of high-definition videos. The fact that the blu ray discs are based on the bare disc physical form factor renders it compatible with compact discs and DVDs.

Just as its name denotes, blu ray discs utilizes a blue-violet laser beam to read and write data instead of the red laser beam which is being used as per the available technology at present. A blue-violet laser (405nm) has a far shorter wavelength than a red laser (650nm) making it possible to focus the laser spot with superior precision. The advantage of this is that, it permits data to be stored in less space since the data can be packed more tightly, which further, allows consumers to fit additional data on the disc even though it may be the same size as a CD or a DVD.

Several of the world’s prominent PC and video game makers, recording media and consumer electronics and music companies have taken up this technology today and Hollywood studios and various smaller studios have already taken interest in these latest blu ray discs with the results of some of them already announcing the release of their new flicks on blu ray discs.

Even though the know-how was novel, the latest DVD format made use of the same form factor as the Compact Disc that made easy the transformation to next generation format.

It is the last word in user experience and facilitates rewriting, recording, playback and distribution of HD videos. The blu ray discs have been founded on the bare disc physical form factor which makes it compatible with CDs and DVDs.

The blu ray discs, as the name suggests, uses a blue-violet laser to read and write data unlike the current technology which uses red laser.

Presently supported by some of the world’s leading consumer electronics, personal computer, video game, recording media, and music companies, these new generation blu ray discs have also won the support of Hollywood studios and other smaller studios, some of whom have already announced the release of new movies on blu ray discs.

This next generation optical disc format – Blue Ray DVDs – is a proud development of the Blu Ray Disc Association (BDA) that include HP, Dell, LG, Hitachi, Apple, Samsung, Panasonic, JVC, Sony, Mitsubishi, Philips, Pioneer, Sharp, Thomson, and TDK is a remarkable invention of the BDA (Blu Ray Disc Association) that consists of TDK, Thomson, Sharp, Pioneer, Philips, Mitsubishi, Sony, JVC, Panasonic, Samsung, Apple, Hitachi, LG, Dell and HP. The BDA boasts 180 of the world’s leading consumer electronics, media and personal computer manufacturers.

The days of DVDs are numbered. With more and more people upgrading to HDTV to enjoy modern digital television, the need to store high-definition content is also on the rise. However, DVDs are known to support a resolution of 720 x 480 whereas HD content resolutions reach as higher as 1920 x 1080. HD video content uses up a considerable amount of hard drive space too. High definition content with data compression of about 2 hours duration requires up to twenty-two GB of storage space whereas a DVD-18 disc (dual-sided double-layer) allows a storing capability of seventeen GB only.

The solution to this problem has let to the development of two technologies – HD DVD and Blue Ray DVDs – that are now in fierce competition with each to gain market share and become the successor of the DVD. Though these two technologies are apparently similar to each other, the blue ray DVDs have a slight edge over the other as it boats of a greater amount of storage capacity than the HD DVD. As the name denotes, the blue ray discs make use of a blue-violet laser to write and read data in contrast to the existing technology which makes use of red laser. A blue-violet laser (405nm) carries a much lesser wavelength than a red laser. The plus point in this is that as the data could be packed compactly it uses less space to store data and that fact lets users to add more data on the disc though the size of the disc is more or less the same as a CD/DVD.
A single-layer high definition DVD can hold only fifteen GB of data whilst single-layer blue ray DVDs can hold twenty-five GB which amounts to over two hours of HD video and thirteen hours of normal video. A double-layer High Definition-DVD can store up to thirty GB whilst double-layer blue ray DVDs can hold fifty-four GB which is 4.5 hours of HD video and more than 20 hours of normal video.

Blue ray DVDs are also light on the manufacturers since these are built by injection-molding process on a single 1.1-mm disc compared to the traditional injection-molding process on a 0.6 mm (HD DVD follow the same method) which thereby reduces costs. This savings balances out the expenses of adding the protective layer required on blue ray DVDs which means that the end price cannot be very different from the price of a regular DVD.

With the advent of the Compact Disc at the beginning of Nineteen Eighties, the world underwent a dramatic change. It offered excellent audio quality and its 650MB storage capacity was a great leap in data storage and retrieval. This happened to be the first instance of low-priced media which offered recordable, pre-recorded and rewritable options. It enabled widespread recording and distribution of audio. Anyway, the necessity for greater storage capabilities grew in the nineteen nineties and resulted in the creation of the DVD which saw a five-fold increase of storage capabilities. Although it was a new technology, the new DVD format used the same form factor as the CD which facilitated the migration into the next generation format. This increased the DVD’s popularity with the clients.

Today, the blu ray discs are yet another revolution in technology. This novel optical disc system is an important creation of the Blu Ray Disc Association (BDA) which includes Dell, Hp, Hitachi, LG, Samsung, Apple, JVC, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Sony, Pioneer, Philips, Thomson, Sharp and TDK. (The BDA boasts 180 of the world’s leading consumer electronics, media and personal computer manufacturers| Blu Ray Disc Association consists of the Globe’s frontline producers of media, personal computers and consumer electronics items, numbering one hundred and eighty}.

The blu ray discs, as the name suggests, uses a blue-violet laser to read and write data unlike the current technology which uses red laser. The wavelength of a blue-violet laser (405nm) is way shorter than that of a red laser (650nm) and this has made it easier to concentrate the laser spot with superb accuracy.

The entertainment industry in the latest century has given the world some of the biggest evolutions. Starting from the CD and moving forward with the DVD, entertainment has actually come to its customers door step. People did not have to go to the cinema hall to watch the movie they liked. They could experience it all at the comfort of their homes mainly because with DVD’s came the DVD player. These high-tech equipments had unmatched picture quality with high audio and video resolution.

A Blu ray disk has the same physical attributes as a standard DVD. The Blu ray disk has taken the optical disc technology to a higher level as it is mainly used for high-definition data and video storage. Another dissimilarity between a DVD and a Blu ray disk is that a DVD uses a red laser, whereas the Blu ray disk uses a blue laser. The name ‘Blu ray’ was a result of the laser color that was used in the disk.

The Blu ray disk was developed by the Blu ray disk association; a group consisting of some of the highly known names in the consumer electronic trade. Some of them include renowned names such as Sony, Hitachi, Philips, Samsung, Panasonic, Hewlett Packard (HP), etc. The format in a Blu ray disk enables recording, rewriting and the playback of high definition video.

Compared to a DVD, the biggest advantage a Blu ray disk has is the high storage capacity. The storage capacity of a single layer Blu disk is 25GB and the dual-layer Blu ray disk can do up to 50GB. It also has advanced audio and video codes, therefore a person can have the ultimate high-definition video viewing experience.

A Blu ray disk, also known as a BD has storage capacity around five times higher than a traditional DVD. A Blu ray disk can store around 9 hours of high-definition video and 23 hours of standard-definition video on a 50GB disk. Another advantage of the Blu ray disk is that the blue-violet laser in it has a shorter wavelength, hence enabling it to focus on a disc area with greater precision. Although the looks of a CD and a Blu ray disk may seem the same, the storage capacities differ a lot.

The major disadvantage is that sometimes standard DVD players are unable to recognize the format in these disks. Luckily this problem is being rectified by many consumer electronic manufacturers making sure they release backward compatible players. Many of the CD’s and DVD’s can be used in a player which is compatible with Blu ray disks and DVD’s.

In the present day, the blu ray discs are the latest upheaval in technical know-how. The blu ray disc is the latest optical disc format created by the BDA (Blu Ray Disc Association which includes TDK, Thomson, Sharp, Pioneer, Philips, Mitsubishi, Sony, JVC, Panasonic, Samsung, Apple, Hitachi, LG, Dell, and HP. The Blu Ray Disc Association consists of one hundred and eighty of the world’s prominent PC, Media and consumer electronics producers.

blu ray dvd drives

In the past, High Definition DVDs and Blu Ray Discs were competing intensely about which would succeed the DVD. With the results of blu ray discs being the winner, the attention has now been turned on the blu ray drives that will operate the blu ray discs. As the name signifies, the blu ray technology makes use of blue-violet laser to access data whereas the available technology at present uses a red laser. A blue-violet laser (405nm) which is very short in wavelength than a red laser(650nm)concentrates the laser spot with superb accuracy. The plus point of this is that it allows data to be recorded in less space as the data can be stored compactly which gives the users to squeeze in more data on the disc though the size of the disc is akin to that of a CD/DVD. A single-layer HD-DVD disc only store 15 GB whereas single-layer blue ray DVDs can store 25 GB which is more than 2 hours of high-definition video and 13hours hours of standard video.A dual-layer HD-DVD can hold up to 30 GB whereas dual-layer blue ray DVDs can store 54 GB which is 4.5hours of high-definition video and more than 20hours of a standard video.

blu ray disk drives

Anyhow, blu ray drives are undoubtedly dearer than other standard drives. Blu ray drives that can both read blu ray discs and burn DVDs are about 3 times the price of a standard DVD burner. And, if you want blu ray drives that will burn the blu ray media, the price increases ten times more.

blu ray drives

There are many online shopping avenues for selecting you blu ray drives. A little research will enable you to find good bargain for your money. Several of the producers of blu ray drives are Sony, Samsung, Pioneer, Philips, Panasonic, LG, HP, and BenQ. Although it is not compulsory, the BDA blu ray drive manufacturing to allow backward compatibility -reading standard DVDs and CDs in addition to blu ray discs.
